Very nice permission and another awesome video! Thank you Kenny. I remember about a year ago i researched a similar property, talked to the older lady who owned it,,and she said "'Don't even think about it,just get it out of you're head'.' Win some lose some i guess, lol. I guess we all may have some that memorable.
I get the same treatment... trust me. It’s always a gamble walking up to ask and the hardest thing to deal with in the hobby of detecting. I wish you better luck on future attempts to gain permission.
Prior to finding you on TH-cam I had a White's DFX and a V3i. I still have them. I've watched all of your videos. When you made the switch to the Equinox 800 last year, I did the same because I wanted to learn the machine from you. Then summer hit and none of my detectors made it out of the closet including the new 800. I got back on TH-cam this winter and looked for new videos from you but didn't find any. I'm so glad you're back. Your videos make a person want to get out and hunt treasure. I have a renewed energy to try and make time this summer for something I enjoy doing. Thank you.
Glad to hear you are back on here and feel the urge to get out and detect. I actually prefer fall, winter and spring for detecting... summer not so much. Try to get out if your able while the ground is moist, my machines always respond much deeper this time of year and digging is much easier.
Extremely well done video! Your technique and methodology are perfect. You clearly show the benefits of research,. I enjoy seeing your settings too. i enjoy the way you show the vdi then, take a guess then reveal the actual find. i just bought the nox 800 and this helps me understand how it operates. Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoy the way you do your videos. I love to see the old maps and showing how you run your machine. Great finds. You found 2 of my listers, a large cent and a barber. Congratulations friend.
Thanks for getting out sharing your hunt. Your camera use is impressive as well as your presentation of the dirt clods and then your finds. I do appreciate anyone who uses a pin-pointer instead of taking too long and making a big mess. Glad you found some silver and coppers.
Very much enjoyed the format of this video. I have been detecting just 3 years and this showing the signal, then sharing the opening of the dirt clumps to reveal the items inside, excellent enjoyment for us at home. Look so forward to more like this - Thanks
@@squarenailsquirrel9638 I rewatched it last night with the wife. She was excited when you and her would see the object at the same time. Its like we are right there with you sharing your experience instead of just having you show us what you found. When i detect with friends. We always hunt somewhat close and call each other when we think we got a decent signal. I want to share in their joy, as you allowed us to share in yours. Well Done Sir
man i tell ya...I was there with ya on every find...i really enjoy watching your video's buddy. Your mind is on the same level as the viewer. You are thinking right about how you do this. Keep it up buddy! You rock...!!! I wish I had more time to get out with my 600 but I don't. So tired after a long work day. Just to watch you out there makes me feel like i went hunting with you. I thank you man...I am able to sit here with a cold one at night and enjoy hunting as if I was out there. Please don't lose interest! I do woodworking also and I love it...but I always look forward to a chance to get out there. Great Job my friend. I wish one day I can go hunting with ya.
Thank you for the feedback.. with my videos I try to take everyone along with me on the hunt versus just showing a guy out metal detecting. Glad that you enjoyed the hunt and within the week I should have the return trip to this site uploaded.
Man!! Great finds, great production, great videos! Not sure how you find time to do all this but the work doesn’t go un-noticed or un-appreciated! I’m sure I speak for all your subscribers. I still refer back to the beginning of some of your videos to make sure I’m setting up properly. Thanks again!
I’m glad you are back making videos. I appreciate the hours to spend on making them enjoyable to watch! I’m sorry for the unkind words people have said, I don’t know how anyone could not like your videos. Thank you.
That trip produced some really nice finds! And the history on these places you hunt is to me equally interesting. It's the "context" that makes the finds more meaningful in my opinion even if sometimes the history is only a house was there on year and then wasn't! Here outside of Chicago the ground is pretty solid right now but I sure am looking forward to that first thaw to get back out myself!
I'm so very happy to see you back doing your videos ☺ Congrats on finding your Barber and your two Large cents; all 1800's. 🎉😀 That doorknob is a beauty in its gorgeous dark green 😍 You know there's plenty of more relics and coins there. I'll be anxiously awaiting your next video 🤗
Welcome back!! I enjoy watching the videos. I just picked up a Equinox 600. I am out here in Massachusetts. No gold mines or nuggets out here. So I went for what I could use the most. Lots of relics. Good luck on future digs.
Great video. Congrats on all the terrific coins. I have only had my nox a couple weeks and am really impressed. I really enjoy the ups and downs of learning the new machine.
Hi! Your copper piece at 7:37 is the wick holder for an oil lamp that cut on the back would hold two gears that would turn with the knob on the lamp and move the wick up and down. Great finds and love your videos!
I like those dirt clods too... Eventually if it gets cold enough we may have to do some frozen ones where I bring them home and freeze them out in order to figure out what’s in them
Heck yeah Kenny, another great video and some awesome finds! To find a coin from the 1800's would be amazing for me! Great job! Keep'em coming, and I'll see you down the road!
A superior dig as always! Very realistic to a life of a detectorest with great items and of course some not so great stuff. I'm sure glad to see you again and a great video too !
What an enviable hunt! I’m watching this in Charleston, SC and heading out tomorrow in search of Revolutionary and Civil War artifacts and relics. Hope I have half your luck!
That dime was sweet, but that 1833 large cent was super sweet! We don't see too many of those down here in Mississippi! Love the buttons and the door knob, too. Great video!
I was surprised with the dime... someday I hope to find a seated dime. Seems like I can get in the right date range for the old silver but it's very rare to find it. I always put it off on modern time... how many times have you found a $10 bill? Once in my life I found one laying in a parking lot around Christmas time... but I have found hundreds of pennies and dimes laying around. I guess people just held super tight to the larger silver coins back in the day.
Another great video!! Thank you SO MUCH for putting out a video. They are definitely one of my favorites! Great finds too!! We are officially all froze up here in Michigan in the fields. Gonna try the woods this weekend and see if they are froze. Thanks again!!
Super windy out.. seems like every time I go the wind is terrible. The battle with wind trying to film drove me to buying the mic I am still getting used to using. The hardest part to remember is I don't have to raise me voice to project sound to the camera anymore. LOL... I get too excited at times and talk too loud.
Great hunt and video. Good research. I do the same thing and have found some good old home sites in fields and I haven’t even put a dent in them yet. 👍
Thank you for subscribing and I’m glad that you enjoy the videos. If you watch many videos you will notice that I used to use different machines but now I only use one, with the possibility of an addition in the future of a new machine.
Hey glad to see you're back at it! Great video per usual. Awesome first year Barber! Really nice condition too. I love seeing that silver rim when u pop a plug, what a rush! Largies are nice too :) Looking forward to more great vids! Thanks for sharing HH GL
It's such a buzz finding silver at the beginning of a hunt. I'm in New Zealand running the CTX3030 and yesterday got out to an old rugby field and found a great big silver half crown as my FIRST SIGNAL! Not just the first dig, but the first hit. 1933, which is near the beginning of NZ's monetary history (was all English prior to 1930)
Very nice find. Problem with getting silver right out of the gate is it’s either the last silver of the day kinda luck or your about to get buried in silver. Problem for me is.,, it’s never the latter. 😂😂 I’m happy with anything... 🙂
Wonderful video! I enjoy how you do the mapping and then get a permission. That cuts down on the hit and miss. The flattened brass rectangle that you found @ 7:36 is part of an oil lamp where the wick would be contained. I found one just like it but it also had the cap attached.
very nice finds. I found 2 barber dimes in the back hill behind a 120 year old college. !901 and 1901s, both must have went in the ground right away, cause they"re perfect. weather did not affect this silver. keep up the good work
Wow man that was an awesome hunt! So close to a seated on that dime, I bet you find a lot more great stuff in that field. Looking forward to another video from this site. 👍🏻
Awesome video man. I just subbed. I have the equinox 600 and your videos explaining how you use the Nox are top notch. Quickly becoming my favorite channel 👍
Thank you very much for tuning in Rich... as well as for your kind comments. You picked a really good machine... ever since I switched Minelab my hunts have became very enjoyable.
Another great episode! Two large cent and a barber dime! That is an amazing hunt. I love the door knob that is one neat relic! Cant wait to see the next hunt there!
Please keep making these videos Kenny. No matter what you do these days, there will be a few haters. Please know that people like me, and many, many others enjoy watching you metal detect. (subscribed). Your style and determination keep me coming back to TH-cam to see if you have uploaded any videos. My father and I like to detect also, and we have taken a lot of tips and expert advise from your channel. I am thinking about purchasing the Minelab Equinox 800. I was looking into the V3I, and had the chance to test one in the field, but after watching some of your videos the 800 seems a little bit better for coin hunters like me and my dad. I watch your videos with him, and we take away many key details. He is a retired physics and calculus teacher, and really loves the hobby, and even though he is getting up there in age (76), he still comes out and digs targets with me. I just cut concrete for a living. I know this comment is very long and I apologize, but I thought you needed to know that you are appreciated from more angles than you might realize.
Thank you for your kind words and I appreciate it. You can have long messages, it’s totally fine. I am glad that the videos help out where they have but remember I’m just like you. I learn from using my machine as well as any kind of literature that I can find. The community of people out there in this hobby are some of the best and I’ve also learned many things from them. What I am relaying in the videos is all of that combined into my own thoughts. If you stick with a hobby you also have a chance to teach somebody else someday that is either in the Hobby or interested in the hobby. I believe That metal detecting is a gradual learning curve until you feel confident and feeling confident it’s pretty much 50% of the hobby with the other 50% being enjoyment. Just so you know I used to work construction and work in concrete, I also used to be a painter for my father. There are many seasons in our life and with each and every one of them they teach us something about ourselves.
I love how you put your videos together! Your explanations and method are amazing. I've only been using an Equinox 600 for 2 weeks, after using an atpro for the past few years. Your step by step settings have actually been more educational than most of the so called how tos. Can't wait to see more!
Hello Kenny thanks again for another video, it’s like a Christmas morning lol. I know you once owned Whites detectors like myself but man these Minelab detectors really put excitement back in detecting. I’m sure you’ll hit this place again when you get the chance, it produced some great finds. Imagine toting these large cents in your pocket back in the day lol. Have a great week my friend 👍
Yes, for about 20 years I ran White's machines but that changed. :) I'm not sure I will want another detector after this one but eventually someone will come out with something better. I actually visited this site yesterday with a video to be released this week. I'll just say the site gave up some history.
As mentioned in the comments already, your videos are so well made, just superb. Really good for the Equinox user too because you share a lot of information. There's a guy in Germany called Terra Germania and he's excellent, you're up there with him buddy. ATB MMMD
Just recently came across your site and I really am enjoying your videos. I 'm from north central Ohio and it is nice to watch someone from Ohio do videos. It's amazing what can be found in these farm fields if you do a little research.
By your description.. your prolly within a stones throw of me. :) Glad your enjoy the videos and good luck out hunting. Check out the video on research.. Ohio has great info on the mapping from the 1800's, I haven't found a county yet without an old atlas.
@@squarenailsquirrel9638 Yes, I have gone to the local library and historical societies for maps and atlases as well as old locally written books. They are a great resources.
Two large cents and a Barber along with those beautiful buttons. Wow absolutely an amazing hunt. Thanks for sharing, good luck, happy hunting and take care.
glad to see you back . thought about trying to get ahold and thank you for the words of advice about your recording and video editing :) just remember if you head to Kentucky let me know --- shane
I’ll be down but between taking care of my business there, the farm and house stuff... I get tied up when I come back home. I’m hoping to get down soon and if I get down with spare time... I’ll check with you prior to see what your plans look like.
Love the quality of your videos, it’s great to see someone is having fun with their equinox. I’ll have to wait 3 or 4 more weeks for the snow to melt before I can get out with mine.
Snow is actually great to hunt in... you can grid very accurately since you make tracks. Just bundle up... I’ll be hunting in the snow this coming weekend.
I am slowly working on a six acre field that has been farmed since the 1880's, first a truck farm and the last 60 or more years cherry orchard. the ground is fallow now so I have a year to find something besides nails. watching your clips I think I should narrow my settings for the first go around. I am in Oregon.
Good luck with your hunt Larry... hit the likely spots where folks would gather or settle. Picture trees and vacant land. Where would you build your house or camp? on the hill rise, next to the creek, protected by the bluff?
I’m trading my 705 in for the eq 600. You and your videos have inspired me to go all in my favorite hobby again. Everything about your videos is spectacular! You sir...are the man!!!
Loved the video man! Glad to see you back at it. I enjoy your videos and they are extremely helpful. One of the main reasons I got back into it 👍! Now I need some wood working tools something I’m very interested in besides diggin metal
Glad to hear that I could help get you back into the hobby. I got on craigslist and found a used wood lathe... And run it at least a few hours for two nights each week since I got it. Very therapeutic as well as rewarding
Square Nail Squirrel thanks bud ! I will look around for a wood lathe as well. Look forward to the new videos as it gets warmer ! I use an Equinox as well and can not wait till it warms up a little down here in Georgia
Great video! It almost seems like your videos are too good for TH-cam. After seeing other ones that has a lot of crap, watching yours brings me back to realization that there are videos on here worth watching. I’ve got to get me a minelab soon. The way it chirps and the quality of it def stands out. Don’t get me wrong I love my v3i but it’d be nice to have a mellow machine to use every once in a while. Good job sir! And great finds!
Thank you very much for your kind comments I do try my best to make these videos entertaining as well as take everybody on the hunt with me versus just showing everybody my hunt. I had a V3 I for about 11 years and the switch to the mine lab took a little bit to get used to it as well as start to speak its language.

@@squarenailsquirrel9638, man THANK YOU for that great reply. You are the BEST. Keep the great content coming, and HAPPY HUNTING!
Wow what a day you had. Love the story telling you do. Keep it up.
Great finds! What did you use to clean your 1892 Barber dime?
1st toothpick with 3 inch pounds of pressure. 2nd. 0000 steel wool with about 1 inch pound of pressure. Inch pounds are a guess although relative.
@@squarenailsquirrel9638 thank you!
Great video brother. I really need to do more field hunting this year.
As mentioned in the comments already, your videos are so well made, just superb. Really good for the Equinox user too because you share a lot of information. There's a guy in Germany called Terra Germania and he's excellent, you're up there with him buddy. ATB MMMD
Thank you... just checked his channel out. I try my best with these... 👍🏻
@@squarenailsquirrel9638 You do a great job buddy. Love your videos.
So glad you're finding nice targets. Again it's good to see you back.
They are a great resources.
great hunt and an extremely well done detecting video! subscribed
Thank you very much for your kind words as well as subscribing I greatly appreciate it.
Great Video! Keep up the awesome work!!!
Wow, great hunt. Just found my 1st Barber dime couple weeks ago. Mine was much more smooth. Looks like you do well there. Looking forward to the next.
Congrats on the barber. I hunted many years before finding one... I still haven’t found a seated.
Super hunt man! The smashed rectangle piece is part of an oil lamp that held the wick. HH Jeff
Thank you for the idea I tried looking those up last night but I didn’t really get a good image of one that matched.
@@squarenailsquirrel9638 i have some pictures to share i could email or text them
This was a great video. Informative and some good finds.
I'VE EITHER JUST BEEN MISSING THE NOTIFICATIONS OR YOU'VE BEEN GONE. NICE SEEING YOU OUT AGAIN. GOOD STUFF.
I have been absent for a bit and within the past two weeks I have been uploading videos. :)
I’m trading my 705 in for the eq 600. You and your videos have inspired me to go all in my favorite hobby again. Everything about your videos is spectacular! You sir...are the man!!!
Yay!! Another video!! Epic hunt and finds!
🙂 thank you.
Beautiful coins, Thank you.
I had a V3 I for about 11 years and the switch to the mine lab took a little bit to get used to it as well as start to speak its language.
wow that barber dime is a beaty, especially for tumbling around in a corn field for so long!
