The ending is key: Even if she meets the checklist, there is so much more that would be required for a diagnosis of a real person. ❤ What other characters from shows or movies would you like me to exam to further understand their behavior? Comment below! ⬇
Silco was probably the second most interesting character in Arcane but I'm not sure if there is enough information about his backstory to properly analyse him.
I would love to see your takes on Jayce and Mel individually (with emphasis on the relationship with her mother and contrasting it with her relationship with Jayce), and also on their relationship because I think it's one of the most easily misinterpreted and misrepresented relationships in the show, and a lot of people demonise their connection way beyond legitimate concerns/criticism. I also think they're very misunderstood characters and since I relate to both of them on some levels (Jayce's people-pleasing and impulsivity, Mel's relationship with her mother and having to unlearn certain behaviours that she was taught by Ambessa etc.), it's been a bit disheartening for me to see.
I would absolutely love to see your reaction to the show Doom Patrol on HBOMax, however, fair warning, it is definitely not for kids, but it deals with a lot of different mental health situations. It is a DC show, so there are superpowers involved, but it also doesn't focus on their powers, it focuses on them as people and the things they go through. Loved the breakdown and your reactions to Arcane 🙂
Going through the checklist, when you got to "suicidal thoughts or tendencies", I think one of the best examples was the fight on the bridge with Ekko. Jinx's expression just before she released the grenade that nearly killed both of them, in my opinion, is one of the most powerful in the entire series. That was clearly not simply a reckless action, but an intentionally self-harming one. Definitely plenty of other examples, but that one stuck out to me most.
Yeah, I think people tend to ascribe a lot of evil intent there of just "getting" Ekko and not realize that it was a sincere suicide attempt. If Ekko hadn't knocked away the grenade (you can hear the "tink!" of him hitting it just before it goes off), she would have succeeded.
@@brittvaughn9447 Later note Jinx saying "nothing ever stays dead" almost bitterly. Referring to the hallucinations of her dead friends? Yes... but also...

Yes! Me too, I never even knew about bpd and the more I watched Jinx, the more relatable I found her, I’m 100% sure I’m borderline. It’s so shitty too, I completely understand how Jinx reacts.
Did you ever watch Crazy Ex-Girlfriend? It's a musical romantic comedy show that kind of goes in-depth examining the titular old sexist trope and eventually concludes that the main character has BPD due to her life trauma. I'd definitely recommend that one too.
I would like to know who the writers consulted when writing this show. Jinx's trauma markers are too well-done to have been written on instinct. Someone either consulted with a professional therapist for the character design or had BPD therapy themselves...
This is 100% true. Borderline’s are often fun characters for these parasites to make fun of and they become extremely popular. Its a big tool. Trust me when i say this. Its like handing a borderline to a well trained narcissist. Never ends.
@@Definyyy no, people with BPD are considered crazy and entertaining and is used often to portay these characters such as jinx and the latest new character league released called ‘ birar’ or something. The tongue sticking out for ‘birar’ is based on godess kali and her tongue sticking out. Slightly unrelated. That character was created after i mentioned im like kali, and some song lyrics at imply the message ” dont mess with me “i posed in my snapcat in august They have been copying me since 2019. Along with blackpink itzy leserafim new jeans league songs since 2019. Then there’s 3 others others as well.
One thing that really stood out to me as reminding me of BPD symptoms was that scene where she saw Caitlin and it immediately flashed to her having this sinister smile and devil horns over her. It reminded me of when people with BPD do this thing called "splitting" where they see people or things as all bad or all good. It seemed almost like she was doing that with Caitlin where she only saw bad within her.
Also at the end of episode 3. Her sister used to be the best person in the world, and in one instant, she became the worst and all her love turned into hatred. I definitely interpreted this as a splitting episode.
as someone with BPD i felt so connected to jinx but at first i thought it was only me making it up on my mind and seeing things that weren’t there or just taking her pain while she was struggling with something else so i’m actually really happy to see that i wasn’t the only one who saw those BPD traits on her development even though is something really deep and heavy
When Jinx is stapling her leg together, one can view it out of two ways: one, she is seriously hurt, and in that moment survival trumped everything to keep blood in so that she wouldn't bleed to death; it was the closest thing to get herself patched up, or two, she is still reeling from meeting her sister, and needs an outlet for her unsable mood, i.e. theough self-harm.
I have BPD, and had not yet been diagnosed at the time. Watching the show actually sent me into a psychotic break at the tea party scene. I had not even realized how bad the show was triggering me until than. No media has ever done that before. It was terrifying. Her emotions and inner turmoil she experienced mirrored mine so much. But now I know why I guess.
As person with mental illnesses (undiagnosed) I also was triggered in quite a few of the scenes. I had to take SEVERAL breaks because of how much Jinx reminded me of me. The realism of her struggles is insane.
Y'all make me feel so validated. Watching Jinx was entirely too relatable to me and every time she expressed that intense fear of abandonment, I'd have to pause and bawl my eyes out. But I'd never felt so seen by any piece of media so I pushed through the series.
The more I rewatched Arcane, the more I realized just how much I related to Jinx, I had always had very bad episodes mostly over perceived problems that my brain would make up, Insecurities and the feeling of being unwanted by my boyfriend which weren’t true. I didn’t even know anything about BPD until one day I looked up what Jinx and her diagnoses was on a post on Reddit and someone explained “Borderline personality disorder” The more research I did on it, the more I started to understand myself, as if I finally wasn’t crazy like I had told myself for the longest time for not acting like everyone else. Literally EVERY scene with Jinx, especially when she’s talking about Vi , was like looking into a mirror. Not to say I’m self diagnosing, however I very *strongly* suspect I have it.
Unstable relationships were also apparent with Silco. Their relationship was one of the oddest and it wasn't that healthy but in its own way it was genuine. When you mentioned fear of abandonment i thought about how she was upset because she thought he thought she was weak. Especially when she thought he was going to give her over to Jayce. All throughout the show, Silco kept feeding into Jinx's belief that Vi would leave her again, even basically saying that he was the only one she could trust. I'm personally thinking this fear of abandonment could tie back to how both her parents died in the war and Vi was the only family she had left. If you noticed when Vi, Claggor and Mylo went off to get Vander she was super upset because Vi left her behind to do it alone. Even back then, she wanted more than anything to be of use to her sister. Throwing in the bomb was a means of proving her use and not being abandoned in a sense.
Me too, it sucks because Im an adult and I have to act like one but im not ready, I dont have a job, I dont have a career and to be honest im always afraid of the world, I never go out, im always in mi house but im not happy. I dont know how to just doing something different.
as someone with BPD, i IMMEDIATELY clocked Jinx's symptoms...like whether or not it's confirmed, that girl ticks almost every box and she seems to have the psychosis symptom too
Yeah OBVIOUSLY ☺️ you don’t have psychosis with BPD. What she has is cptsd - which mimics BPD a lot. AND clearly. Very clearly schizophrenia. I have schizophrenia and my mom is BPD and I can say for sure, jinx is NOT BPD. She is very clearly schizophrenic with a lot of trauma in the bag. Which schizophrenia is born out of.
I really want to cosplay as jinx,I relate most to her and powpow but I LOOK more like Vi :( I'm taller and a little more bilut so idk if ppl will judge
@@Thebeezzkneezz. Who cares if people will judge? I'm sure the people closest to you will love it, and the rest can just take a long walk off a short plank! Do what you want!
I know you said that there's more to a diagnosis than checking off criteria, but you literally brought me to tears as you listed them. I felt seen in a way I never do.
The depiction of BPD, PTSD and Schizophrenia in Arcane is just so well-written. As a psych major, I've never seen a perfect depiction of these mental illnesses other than this show.
I too relate to Jinx with the loneliness and slight abandonment issues and unstable emotions during specific times since I was 4. But did have tv to help develop my identity and personality. Just never regained a personal important emotion and I know is what I need - euphoria. Just suddenly lost the emotion when needing to go home and my mom made it seem like she left but was a trick. And I can be really sincere, so being lied at a sensitive developmental moment like that, broke my sense of being. And it’s been such an annoying hate/truce mother daughter relationship, seeing that she’s so good at stepping on my emotions when I would like to breathe when just or trying to regain all of my authentic self. I’d just love to express all of my emotions like I used to and be free.
Thank you for this! And thank you for sharing you have BPD as well. Every time in the past I have revealed I have it to new doctors or friends or potential boyfriend… if they know anything about it, they cast me as trouble and a red flag. After I got diagnosed I felt so ashamed and alone… When I first watched this show I related so strongly to Jinx and I didn’t understand why… but she kind of helped me relate and relive my trauma in a healthy way and seeing it from an outsiders perspective. She will always be one of my all time favorite characters and especially the song at the end “The Monster you Created”… just listen to those lyrics. I think back to the people that caused the trauma to first happen to me and turned me into this “monster” and I cry every time I listen to it. Thank you for breaking this down and being a voice for all of us ❤
I found you through Legal Bytes when they were covering Depp vs Heard! Absolutely yes be Jinx for Halloween, and if you decide to actually do it we definitely need to see it 💙
It was really interesting ! I love those kinds of breakdown of mental/personnality disorder through fictional charcaters, it helps to have some form of insight and devellop a better understanding through empathy/interpersonal understanding. I hope to see more of those in the future ! Great work !!
About lack of sense of self - also she personified the definition of what Vi said to her that first night. It wasn’t until after she defined her the same way everyone else did that she took on that new identity and became it.
You mentioned misreading facial expressions. I have both autism and BPD and have trouble with the exact same thing. Do you think these mental disorders could feed off each other and enhance the symptoms? By the way, I absolutely love your analysis. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who recognized the symptoms and thought Jinx was inhibiting symptoms of BPD.
In BPD (and in people who have trauma in general) it's more about being paranoid and anticipating the bad before it happens. I'm constantly "reading" people and I subconsciously pay attention to any and all signs of frustration to be able to deescalate in time because I grew up knowing someone else's anger = danger. If I'm not mistaken autistic people have trouble interpreting facial expressions in general, not just hyperfocusing on/expecting the negative ones?
I connected immediately to her feelings of wanting so bad to be validated from others , That agonizing pain . They say BPD patients prefer to be treated horrifically than ignored or left /“abandoned ”as at least , in our warped minds , when we are treated in any way , as bad as they may , we exist but when we are rejected or left it’s like akin to “not existing “ and what is not existing ?: D3&th.. so that was immediately recognizable .🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
I'm so glad that I have visited Your chanel, i just binged Your Arcane reations. Your reaction videos of Arcane were so different from usual ones because Your analisis added so much to it. When it comes to Jinx there is an ingame interaction of Caitlyn with Jinx which says "Is there a point of this madness Jinx or is it a chanel for your pain?" and here is the thing it is actually the truth, Jinx is her chanel for Powder's pain. She still wants to stay Powder and go back to Vi but every time she is close to achieveing that her trauma overcomes the will of reuniting with her sister. All her worst nightmares and traumas are connected with Powder not with Jinx. While she identifies herself with Jinx she feels better going back even with short memories to being Powder is just to pianful for her. But we have to remember that both Powder and Jinx are the same person she can switch between her personalities in a way allowing to at least for a short time forget about pain but no matter what it is still in her, she just grew up and changed her name to Jinx. Someone wrote in a comment under one of countless Arcane reactions that "last thing Powder did was killing Silco and first thing Jinx did was to avange him" I can partially agree with that killing Silco was a moment of her return to being Powder to protect Vi from being shot by Silco not thinking about possible outcome. Realization that she killed another person she loved so much while identifying with Powder was this decisive moment when she decided to stay in her chanel for pain forever. It just hurt her to much., she lost to much. The saddest thing is that she heard that she is perfect in Silco's lats words it is what she always wanted to hear from Vi but she never did, no matter how toxic their relationship was it for sure had this element of true unconditional love of Silco for Jinx and she loved him to. Now she lost the one person that loved her current self as confused, hurt and broken she is. Vi still loves her but she loves mostly her old self, Vi is terrified by Jinx, by her brutality and by that she views Caitlyn as a danger while she did not replaced Jinx in Vi's heart, Vi just loves tham both. Damm I did it again. I once again started to write a book instead of a comment. If You want to do more materials about Jinx You should take a look on Jinx's dairy from council archives form in game event. It is so eyewatering and gives a look on how Jinx tried to cope with her loss and her transofmation from cute little girl into strong young woman trying to prove herself that she is worth and also about beginings of her relationship with Silco. I really would like to see an analysis of Silco he is so complex character And yes Jinx cosplay is a great idea. Grettings from Poland.
Also, thanks for explaining about how sharing the same symptoms doesn't mean you have a given disorder. Because I was looking at the things being checked off and going. "Yep. Yep. Yep. Gonna' have to ask my therapist if I have BPD next time I see her."
I’m sooo gla she mentioned it too! I see a lot of people self diagnosing with BPD. I thought I had it until I got diagnosed, turns out I have CPTSD and they’re very similar. It’s important to get a correct one so you can get the needed tools and help.
Thank you! Jinx has always been my favourite character since I first saw Arcane when it came out. I love her so much that she became a comfort character. I felt like I related to her on some level. I've been struggling with my mental health a lot throughout this year and have recently been seeing a psychologist. She mentioned to me that she believes I have BPD. I've been doing a lot of research on bpd since then and my sister asked me "Is that why you love Jinx so much?" because my sister said she read somewhere or heard someone say that Jinx may have bpd.
I've watched this video several times over and I'm still getting moist eyes watching it, and having to pause it in order to stand up and pace for a while. I think it's regrettable that the Heard case is mentioned in the introduction, because ... let's just say it detracts from the timelessness of the rest of the video ... but other than that, I really appreciate it. The reason for my interest in BPD is not something I can share here, but I would like to send a giant hug to everyone out there struggling with it. Thanks, and all the best.
I would be interested in your thoughts/a watch through of The Sandman. IDK if it would really fit your style as it is not as directly about mental health, but it is just a absolutely amazing show and there are definitely some stuff for you to talk about (especially encephalitis lethargica, and the effects of dream being captive) Either way, love your content and the positivity you spread. P.S. The more I think about it, the more I think the show is right up your ally. It talks about death, the effects lying can have on people, mental health issues, abuse, and so much more!
two good shows are cobra kai (4 seasons, with a 5th coming up), most if not all those characters need therapy. and Extraordinary Attorney Woo, that so is a k-drama about an autistic lawyer (1season).
You should really check out the boys. There are so many characters in that show I would love to see you react too. Especially a character named Homelander.
I'm really loving your videos. I love the subject of the mind and people's behaviors. I've wanted to study psychology but I'm very very bad at reading and remembering things, so I've never tried it haha. Anyways, looking forward to learning with your videos. Thanks so much for sharing and caring for people always on your videos! ♥
I loved your video and I wanted to ask you something. In the last episode jinx says "I thought you could love me, even though I'm different", listening to this we realize that jinx knows her condition, she knows she's different. Does that help at all, knowing your own mental disorders?
I'm not a professional, but from what I've seen, yes. From what I've seen, BPD is by far the most aware of the type b personality disorders that there's something wrong with them. They feel a hole inside, and are obsessed with finding something to fill it. There's a shit ton of other things going on with Jinx, to the point I'd seriously hesitate to give her a convenient label like BPD, but if you've got it you're tormented by the knowledge that you're missing something basic inside.
I’m going through something similar. Used to be close with my brother, but he took advantage of me. I can no longer be in the same room as him without being triggered either with anger or depression.
Oh god I'm so sorry that happened to you. My brother has blown up and been verbally abusive to me multiple times over the last few years and now the holidays are coming and I have such anxiety about it
Just leaving some anime recommendations here... - Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood: two brothers look for the Philosopher's Stone to get back what they lost after performing Alchemy's greatest taboo. Action/Mystery/Adventure/Science Fiction. It's very psychological and deals with topics such as genocide, cults, sin... -Nana: two women with the same name who are the same age, meet on a train on their way to Tokyo to follow their dreams. Slice of life/ Drama/Romance. Don't be fooled by the synopsis, it's still super dark lol. Deals with themes such as mental illness, prostitution, drug addiction, adultery... They're both bittersweet but super funny and cute at the same time. Also, if you do watch them please watch the sub version.
I often see too many overlap of symptoms between d.I.d BPD schizophrenia and I don’t know enough about any of those to actually differentiate them but I wonder if that is what you mean at the end when you talk about someone showing all the symptoms of one but possibly having something else instead.
(spoilers!) Love your reactions and analisis of this show and this character 💕 But don’t you think she also has suic*dal tendencies? From what I understand, it can include not only activly trying to end it, but it can also include serius disregard for one’s own live. So in ep 4 Jinx is upset and playing with her bombs, pulling the trigger, riskly waiting till the last minute, and throwing the bomb away. Someone noticed that shows she knows her inventions very well at this point. But someone else noticed that’s might show gross disregard for her life. And I think it can be interpret both ways. But even more so, in ep 7, Jinx is quick to pull the trigger on both herself and Ekko, it seems like she dosn’t care if she lives or not, if she has the chance of taking Ekko with her. She doesn’t even try to get away, and Ekko has easier way of escape, being on top. He probably jumps away and only get’s injured some, when Jinx nearly ends herself. It wasn’t smart move if she wanted to k*ll him and preserve herself. Doesn’t that suggest some degree of suic*dal tendencies?
I would comment that too. On the episode 7, after everyone she knows betrayed or abandoned her in some way (her parents dying on the bridge, Vi slapping her, Silco lying about Vi, Ekko punching her), Jinx give up and just wanted to die, and k*lling Ekko would be a side effect.
It does. Self harm is described not only as the actions you actively take to hurt yourself like cutting or hitting but also the in-actions, if that makes sense. Not eating enough, going outside in light clothes when it's 0 degrees outside and overall not getting yourself out of harm's way even though it would take next to no effort shows disregard to your well-being and sometimes even life, it can very much be a way to punish yourself without actively doing things that would get you hurt.
Hm, okay, now that you have watched all of Season 1 of Arcane, there’s a couple of options and recommendations that i now can present to you, based on what you might be interested in knowing: If you would like to know more about the production of Arcane and what might’ve been going on Behind the Scenes of Arcane’s curation? Then i recommend watching Arcane: Bridging The Rift that’s free to watch on TH-cam, with 2 Parts currently out. If you would like to know more or at least have a better understanding of the Lore and World of Arcane and by extension League of Legends? Then i recommend watching either the Tales of Runeterra Mini-Series (which gives some insight of sorts for each of the Major Regions of the World of LoL/Arcane) and/or some of Necrit’s (who is basically the Lore & News Guy for League of Legends and it’s related content) content about the subject. Or if you would just simply like to know of or at least get some ideas for what to potentially expect from Season 2? Then there’s some Prediction Videos that i can recommend too, if you are indeed interested that is. Regardless, it’s all up to you for what to decide, just know this there’s currently a Season 2 Teaser out, if you’re interested?
Super interesting video. Just curious, are there other good examples in media which showcase how BPD manifests. I do get the checklist and how it relates to Jinx/Powder, though it still feels a bit abstract for me.
I don't work in psych so take this with a grain of salt, but Crazy Ex-Girlfriend on Netflix is basically an exploration of a character living with BPD. It seems fairly well researched and sensitive on the topic and is written by someone neurodivergent, so I recommend giving it a look. It's also hilarious and has a bunch of catchy songs.
I'm talking from my own experience, but in me it shows through not really feeling like I have any purpose until someone who I can obsess over comes around. Obviously I know I'm an actual person, I know what I like and dislike, but most of the time I just feel like an empty vessel for someone to come and use however they like. I don't have any actual goals for the future and can't imagine anything I can do on my own being able to satisfy me the way having someone around could, not a career, not having a lot of money, nothing. I basically spend my life waiting for someone to swoop in and save me, but then again I'm unmedicated so I'm not doing the best lmao
Are you going to do a video on her psychosis? I know that the stuff for psychosis isn’t as set in stone and you’d need more info than the show gives you but I would still like to hear you talk more in depth about it.
I think that if it wasn't for the explosion in Silco's lair, Powder would have grown to develop BPD. But due to it, Jinx developed something much worse. After all, BPD sufferers fully understand the multitude of ways in which they're unhealthy and are the personality disorder most likely to seek and benefit from help. With Jinx, she's no longer fully connected to reality, and that lacking tether makes any treatment much more difficult. So Jinx's psychosis disqualifies her from BPD, but she definitely suffers from the exact same symptoms as BPD sufferers. As for emptiness, I'm pretty sure she DOESN'T have that, because I saw the opposite in her, something I struggle with myself: whenever she's not engaged in something from the outside, she's still unbearably full on the inside. Full of remorse, fear, pain, all those negative emotions, she's overwhelmed, which is the core reason for her psychosis. I think this is also the key difference between BPD and what could be a case of schizoaffective.
You: Does Jinx have BPD? Me: ...Do fish have fins? Does the MAGA Man have NPD? Is Arcane the best fucking show I've ever seen in my life? Yes, yes, yes, and yes.
Ive only seen a few people talking about this but I was wondering what you thought about the Jinx as autistic headcanon, Ive also seen people headcanoning both as in someone with autism who developed bpd but I was just wondering if you saw it at all
I feel like Jinx shows more signs of paranoid schizophrenia. The frequent switches of character from aggressive to manic to terrified feel like more of a separation of personalities within her psyche. She also has some of the characteristics of Dissociative Identity Disorder - the hard split between what she sees as "Powder" and what is "Jinx." They are essentially two entirely different personalities, and she is trying to figure out which one is the real "her."
The hard split between "Powder" and "Jinx" may be more the unstable sense of self/shifting or lack of identity with BPD than DID. Paranoia revolving around interpersonal relationships is definitely a thing with BPD, and psychosis can be part of it as well. Of course, it could very easily be that Jinx has multiple disorders.
Hi so I am a psychology and neuroscience student who has Borderline Personality Disorder. Bipolar Disorder (BD) and Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) are two very different disorders. There are many differences but the really short version is, Bipolar disorder consists of periods of mania and depression, usually lasting a few days to weeks. Meaning they experience highs for a period of time and then lows. Borderline personality disorder unlike bipolar, is a personality disorder and affects more then just your mood. People with BPD usually have intense instability in their mood, relationships (between friends, partners and family) and with their own identity. Their mood episodes usually only last a few hours, at most a day. We also do not experience mania like people with Bipolar disorder. While there are a lot more differences, those are the key differences.
i know this is a video from the first season... but ALAS here are my two scents: *NO* jinx is certainly not BPD :) i speak as someone who has a BPD mother. who myself was wrongly diagnosed BPD in my early twenties and is now correctly diagnosed with schizophr3nia. i know these illnesses VERY well. and have read about them for over a decade. She is schizophr3nic. do you see how she sees things that are not there? do you hear the whispers and voices she hears? that is psychosis. something you do not -. certainly most on the time - not have with BPD. *of course* she has "fear of abandonment" when she WAS abandoned and this let to her psychotic break. CPTSD is clearly also involved and someone with sch!zo have a lot of trauma and stress - hence why their illness was born. she does not just have ONE episode of trauma she has several. and CPTSD mimics the symptoms of BPD very very well. to the point where it can be hard for even professionals to know what is what sometimes. it is incredibly ODD to me, that you claim to be a professional, yet you do not link this. you cannot just look at a set of symptoms, and say its' a personality disorder, when you have to take into account her life - which is the most stressful and traumatic life there is, and someone with BPD don't have conversations with the people they have in their heads - someone who is schizzo does that... i would know ;) to the people who are BPD and who felt seen in this character, i get it. i feel your hurt. i truly do. But to name someone under the correct diagnosis is not some type of attack on you, if you felt a deep connection to this character! :) we can all connect to certain parts, when we all share mental illnesses and personality disorders, but it would be such a shame to completely IGNORE how schizophrenia CLEARLY looks, and to then just name jinx as something completely different, is kind of a diss, to the illness of schizophr3nia. in season 2 she once again hallucinates, and it has nothing to do with a BPD episode. it's just cause that's what she does. she sees things. she has schizophren!a.
Loved the show, but how can you not even talk about her psychosis.. all you speak about is personality and don't even touch on the hallucinations or delusions she has. The clearer diagnosis is schizophrenia.
Hah, I remember Jinx became my crush when I struggled with the tumor in my head almost 10 years ago. 10 years forward long forgotten LoL, and I've just got diagnosed with BPD and now this video. Funny enough Jinx MBTI type is ENFP and mine is INFP, I wonder if xNFP has any connection with BPD. Non the less, it's interesting to see how different an introvert pw/BPD to an extrovert pw/BPD. Why does it have to be so painful? It makes me wish if I were died on the surgery table.

Never ends.
@@Me_di I'm sorry, but what are you talking about? I think you may have replied to wrong comment maybe? Or
@@Definyyy no, people with BPD are considered crazy and entertaining and is used often to portay these characters such as jinx and the latest new character league released called ‘ birar’ or something. The tongue sticking out for ‘birar’ is based on godess kali and her tongue sticking out.
Slightly unrelated. That character was created after i mentioned im like kali, and some song lyrics at imply the message ” dont mess with me “i posed in my snapcat in august
They have been copying me since 2019.

It seemed almost like she was doing that with Caitlin where she only saw bad within her.
same!!!
Also at the end of episode 3. Her sister used to be the best person in the world, and in one instant, she became the worst and all her love turned into hatred. I definitely interpreted this as a splitting episode.
and at the same time she blocked Vi completely out of sight as if she wasnt even there, as if to justify shooting at Caitlyn
Yes, i was freaked out in that scene because i was confronted with what i do
Yes, yes, yes. There was a ton of splitting going on for her from the moment Vi walked away.
as someone with BPD i felt so connected to jinx but at first i thought it was only me making it up on my mind and seeing things that weren’t there or just taking her pain while she was struggling with something else so i’m actually really happy to see that i wasn’t the only one who saw those BPD traits on her development even though is something really deep and heavy
I have bpd and I feel exactly like jinx I understand every single thing that she does ,everything and it’s so clear to me why she does what she does
When Jinx is stapling her leg together, one can view it out of two ways: one, she is seriously hurt, and in that moment survival trumped everything to keep blood in so that she wouldn't bleed to death; it was the closest thing to get herself patched up, or two, she is still reeling from meeting her sister, and needs an outlet for her unsable mood, i.e. theough self-harm.
its a bit of both IMO
I didn’t even know anything about BPD until one day I looked up what Jinx and her diagnoses was on a post on Reddit and someone explained “Borderline personality disorder”
The more research I did on it, the more I started to understand myself, as if I finally wasn’t crazy like I had told myself for the longest time for not acting like everyone else.
I don't think Powder/Jinx had any healthy relationship on screen with any character in the show she was seen interacting with.
It surprises me when I go back with the puzzle pieces and see when I got BPD symptoms as a child. Now I’m 25 and still dealing with it.
There is always room for more Jinx cosplay! Go for it! Go wild! Just... try not to shoot anyone while you do it. 😉
I agree! I think it’s awesome.
Jinx... but truthfully you're more of a Kaitlyn lol
No promises
Thank you for breaking this down and being a voice for all of us ❤
Season 2 is up, Im waiting for your reaction and analysis XD
I found you through Legal Bytes when they were covering Depp vs Heard! Absolutely yes be Jinx for Halloween, and if you decide to actually do it we definitely need to see it 💙
Jinx even hit more points in the DSM V BPD than Anakin Skywalker and Kylo Ren.
Probably the best example I know.
I have to agree. Coming from Reylo fanatic.
Im wondering the same thing
In BPD (and in people who have trauma in general) it's more about being paranoid and anticipating the bad before it happens. I'm constantly "reading" people and I subconsciously pay attention to any and all signs of frustration to be able to deescalate in time because I grew up knowing someone else's anger = danger. If I'm not mistaken autistic people have trouble interpreting facial expressions in general, not just hyperfocusing on/expecting the negative ones?
When I saw the show I didn't know I had Bpd, but I gravitated to Jynx character right away, now it makes sense.
My BPD sister acts like Jink, unfortunately. It is incredibly difficult for her targets.
I connected immediately to her feelings of wanting so bad to be validated from others ,
That agonizing pain .
I really would like to see an analysis of Silco he is so complex character
And yes Jinx cosplay is a great idea.
**glad
I always saw me in her and I didn’t realized why, but now I understand why😭😭
I'm glad that you exist too. You should absolutely be Jinx for Halloween! Love your channel!
There is kinda 3 phobias/disorders Jinx might have-
BPD, PTSD and Autophobia (Fear of being alone)
She definitely has PTSD
I've watched this video several times over and I'm still getting moist eyes watching it, and having to pause it in order to stand up and pace for a while. I think it's regrettable that the Heard case is mentioned in the introduction, because ... let's just say it detracts from the timelessness of the rest of the video ... but other than that, I really appreciate it. The reason for my interest in BPD is not something I can share here, but I would like to send a giant hug to everyone out there struggling with it. Thanks, and all the best.
Yes. You should cosplay as Jinx. She has a great look, worthy of your time.
I would be interested in your thoughts/a watch through of The Sandman. IDK if it would really fit your style as it is not as directly about mental health, but it is just a absolutely amazing show and there are definitely some stuff for you to talk about (especially encephalitis lethargica, and the effects of dream being captive)
Either way, love your content and the positivity you spread.
P.S. The more I think about it, the more I think the show is right up your ally. It talks about death, the effects lying can have on people, mental health issues, abuse, and so much more!
I feel like John Dee's character would be the most relevant for psychoanalysis
Id love to see you do a video like this on the character Catra from Netflix's she-ra and the princesses of power
Your nail polish kinda matches Jinx's haha and yes I a 100% support the Halloween custome idea
two good shows are cobra kai (4 seasons, with a 5th coming up), most if not all those characters need therapy. and Extraordinary Attorney Woo, that so is a k-drama about an autistic lawyer (1season).
Thank you for the suggestions! :)
yess cobra kai!
You should really check out the boys. There are so many characters in that show I would love to see you react too. Especially a character named Homelander.
I actually have a deep dive into a character from The Boys on my upcoming video list! Stay tuned! 🥳
There's a shit ton of other things going on with Jinx, to the point I'd seriously hesitate to give her a convenient label like BPD, but if you've got it you're tormented by the knowledge that you're missing something basic inside.
i was looking for a youtuber creatingTHIS video analycing jinx personality dammmm thanks!!
I’m going through something similar. Used to be close with my brother, but he took advantage of me. I can no longer be in the same room as him without being triggered either with anger or depression.
Oh god I'm so sorry that happened to you. My brother has blown up and been verbally abusive to me multiple times over the last few years and now the holidays are coming and I have such anxiety about it
The blue nails were a nice touch

I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR A VIDEO LIKE THIS THANK YOU SO MUCH
I often see too many overlap of symptoms between d.I.d BPD schizophrenia and I don’t know enough about any of those to actually differentiate them but I wonder if that is what you mean at the end when you talk about someone showing all the symptoms of one but possibly having something else instead.
(spoilers!)
Love your reactions and analisis of this show and this character 💕
But don’t you think she also has suic*dal tendencies?
Always love your perspective and commentary. And ahh !! yess please be Jinx for halloween! so cool
Hm, okay, now that you have watched all of Season 1 of Arcane, there’s a couple of options and recommendations that i now can present to you, based on what you might be interested in knowing:
If you would like to know more about the production of Arcane and what might’ve been going on Behind the Scenes of Arcane’s curation?
I thought she was stapling her wound shut, not the pants to the leg.
How do you know if you don't have a sense of self?? Ummm asking for a friend.
Wow. Your analysis is amazing..
i’m a new subscriber i’m just wondering if you could do a reaction or thoughts about 13 reasons why
Are you going to do a video on her psychosis? I know that the stuff for psychosis isn’t as set in stone and you’d need more info than the show gives you but I would still like to hear you talk more in depth about it.
Please do cosplay Jinx for Halloween.
I think this is also the key difference between BPD and what could be a case of schizoaffective.
unrelated but i love your bangs so much
I don’t know exactly what she has, but I have the same for sure.
Also I would love to see a Jinx cosplay from you!
if you remember me then you know that my problem isn’t bpd, however she is my main on league of legends… what does this mean courtney?
Oh goodness I checked almost all the boxes 😶
is it bad if you check every box?
Do Jinx cosplay

NPD?
@@MegaMilenche Narcissistic personality disorder
Ive only seen a few people talking about this but I was wondering what you thought about the Jinx as autistic headcanon, Ive also seen people headcanoning both as in someone with autism who developed bpd but I was just wondering if you saw it at all
Have you seen an animated series address mental health as well as Arcane? I think I dated Jinx... so it helps thank you
I wanna know if you think that Cur from the webcomic Tamberlane has BPD. He seems to tick quite a few boxes IMO.
So, when you become close to someone again and all of this resurface and the attempt backfires, you can't keep trying ? Or is there any way to do it ?
What if I remember all the history of that person in a few seconds.
Love the hair!
would love to see you comment about Andrew tate and the model he is teaching other men.
Can you please do one on if Harley Quinn has bpd?
Hm, how fascinating.
Have a question, is borderline personality disorder the same thing as bipolar disorder? If not, what are the differences between the two?
@@MxLynx Thanks for the explanation.
i know this is a video from the first season... but ALAS here are my two scents:
*NO* jinx is certainly not BPD :) i speak as someone who has a BPD mother. who myself was wrongly diagnosed BPD in my early twenties and is now correctly diagnosed with schizophr3nia. i know these illnesses VERY well. and have read about them for over a decade.
CPTSD is clearly also involved and someone with sch!zo have a lot of trauma and stress - hence why their illness was born. she does not just have ONE episode of trauma she has several. and CPTSD mimics the symptoms of BPD very very well. to the point where it can be hard for even professionals to know what is what sometimes.
it is incredibly ODD to me, that you claim to be a professional, yet you do not link this. you cannot just look at a set of symptoms, and say its' a personality disorder, when you have to take into account her life - which is the most stressful and traumatic life there is, and someone with BPD don't have conversations with the people they have in their heads - someone who is schizzo does that... i would know ;)
to the people who are BPD and who felt seen in this character, i get it. i feel your hurt.
What do you think about Andrew tate?
so you believe she does
Yes def and schizophrenia
Umm
I only wanted to help
Loved the show, but how can you not even talk about her psychosis.. all you speak about is personality and don't even touch on the hallucinations or delusions she has.
The clearer diagnosis is schizophrenia.
Jinx appears like she has OSDD
Hah, I remember Jinx became my crush when I struggled with the tumor in my head almost 10 years ago. 10 years forward long forgotten LoL, and I've just got diagnosed with BPD and now this video. Funny enough Jinx MBTI type is ENFP and mine is INFP, I wonder if xNFP has any connection with BPD. Non the less, it's interesting to see how different an introvert pw/BPD to an extrovert pw/BPD.
Why does it have to be so painful? It makes me wish if I were died on the surgery table.
So hard to watch Arcane bc i have bpd and she is literally just like me.
