    OMG! I have just looked at my cuttings and I am never going back to the old "tip cuttings" method! Did a bit of an experiment and did some the old way and some the way your grandfather did it. And his method has way better results than the old method. Thank you so much for sharing this!

    I'm in the sub tropics, so I start all my seeds outside. I'm dying to someone to show how to do the cuttings if you don't have a heatmat or indoor light setup. This was GREAT, by the way! Thank you so much! I could only afford 10 tubers, so this should help me get many many more ... if only I could figure out where to put the cuttings! I'm sure our summer temp's in spring will scorch them.

Would it be possible to do another short video of planting out these leaf cuttings into the garden letting us know roughly how long until the cuttings were ready to go outdoors? Would also LOVE to see a later season follow up possibly seeing the cuttings flowering and then see if these cuttings developed tubers within the first year? Can leaf cuttings develop fully like that in just one season??? Thanks so much - you are a great teacher and so easy to listen too! Subscribing!

    Thank you for a most amazing 'new' propagation method. I noticed that the cutting that you divided into four was the main stem growing out of a tuber. Would your leaf cutting method work on a side shoot? I have a dahlia that I really want to propagate in this current season. It is currently about 19 inches high. One of its side shoots has five leaves and I wondered whether I can use this side shoot to propagate using your method?

    • @sausagefingersgardeningtip2326
      @sausagefingersgardeningtip2326  2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

    I have one question. I couldn't quite see where you took the cutting from. Did you cut it from the tuber or just above the tuber?

    How long do you keep them on heat?

    Very interesting. If i take this cutting now the 7th of June, will it grow into a blooming plant this very summer do you think? (would love to replicate an amazing dahlia i have in the ground...). Thanks

      I can't see why not it depends where in the world you are, a couple of decent months weather and should do fine 👍👍

    I dont think many or possibly any will root, because the cuttings are too small, dahlia cuttings are difficult anyway this reduces their 4:10 4:15 chances further.

    I have taken some leaf cuttings but they are much slower than yours. It is summer here and I have them on a heat pad and mist them regularly. Any suggestions please?

      I'm not sure where in the world you are but spring time is best for leaf cuttings as well as all cuttings really, temperature wise its best if the compost is gritty and approx 70f. Hope this helps 👍👍
