This is literally insane on the planning level but also makes my brains so incredibly happy. Planning and labeling and having it all done down to the very tiniest detail Is amazing
Love this video! Thank you. My husband showed me how to unzip zip ties with regular flat tip screwdriver, so they can be reused rather than cut and thrown away. Just do not pull as tightly when closing. And insert to pull apart without the teeth and grooves touching
I got 3 packages of seeds from you. One daliah package. I drect seeded them as I didn't get them started early. I cant imagine the work/ process you guys do..i do my garden myself an it can be overwhelming. You have been an inspiration for me to start a small flower cutting bed..i got some green millet an harry balls too should be some great filler. Blessings on a bountiful season.
Bought your book for last years dalia season. Helped me quite a lot. I still have to wait a few days with planting though. Late frost can be a real showstopper here in germany. Keep up the great work that you are doing with your flowers!
Found u from your show on the magnolia network. I loved it and love what you do!!!!! My old soul truly feels the love for your job. Can't lie I'm super jealous not to have that many flower close by to just visit. Lol! With and love and support your new fan!!!!
Fantastic, simply fantastic. Thank you for providing such detailed information. I immediately jumped on line and ordered Paw Paw rose labels and a retractable grease pen! Fan in Bozeman, MT

What is the medium you store the dahlia tubers in the sterilite storage boxes? I left my tubes in a paper bag over winter and they all ended up as shriveled up tubers 😢

I'm with chris. There is nothing more beautiful then looking out in a garden with perfectly straight rows.
Erin is like the Michael Jordan of flower growing. ❤

This is organizational heaven - it makes my brain sing 😊

Love the organization and the backup labels.
Absolutely amazing! You are such a joy to watch!
Thank you. Thank you! I will plant my dahlia beds 6’ apart! I’ve always screwed up how wide to make the walking paths!
Thank you Erin.
This was so interesting to see your process. I bought dahlia and zinnia seeds this year sos excited to see how things grow.
You should wear a microphone, that would help with sound a lot!
Love this video so much! I’m glad I’m stumbled on your channel!

Great video, Erin!! I'm so inspired by you and hope to plant a patch of dahlias next year.
Organization goals!
Awesome! Thank you
What type of medium is in the tubs that the tubers are in? Is this what they're stored in during the off-season? Thanks..
I want to know the exact same thing!

Thank you so much! Can you tell me how far apart you plant dahlias that you start from seed?
If you ordered seeds from floret this year, the booklet that came with the packets should explain how far to plant seedlings apart.
Just curious, are these all second year plants? Whats the reason for keeping so many of each variety?
I would imagine it's because they're aiming to grow as many seeds as possible for their breeding program
They are new breeds that will be registered, reproduced and then eventually offered for sale to the public.

If you have the Discovering Dahlias book, there are a few great storage ideas on page 69
Do you soak your roots in water beforehand?
No, as too much water makes a dahlia tuber soften and rot.
@@dianequist835 Thank you for the information I appreciate it. I thought it would hydrate them.
How did you managed to have no weed around the bulbs.
Wow the wind noise ! Don't your professional mics block that? Or were you not using them ?
That's all you got from a otherwise wonderful educational video? Geez.
Interesting that they don’t water them until later.
Dahlia tubers can rot if you water them before they have developed roots.
Is it ok to plant tubers that early?
It would depend on your climate. If you plant them deep enough they can avoid late frost in most areas
Thank you, I have been wondering about this
Wait, so no landscape fabric? Just when I thought my plans were mirroring yours 🫠
