Spent several years as a kid in Wisconsin and then moved to the Gulf Coast. That man was a true rep of the people of Wisconsin. Reminded me of life when everyone actual knew there neighbors and helped each other out. Great video Sir.
Not too shabby for slummin’ it 😂 Outstanding video sir. You and Jared work well together, like brothers. Those roadside bayous / ditches are goldmines. Especially for crabs.
Hot roadside meal warms the body. Beats the ole standard tuna-fish sandwiches. Have to keep the tuna and bread separate till ready to make or get soggy. My Tuna is I guess a tuna salad w/ boiled eggs, mayo, diced celery, diced purple onion and sweet dill pickle relish.
Awesome, same here as the fella from up north, I'm in Montana looking out my window at snow and crunchy ice, you keep us old guys and gals sane. Wife and I travel down there for winter every other year, this year was staying home. Boy I miss it down there. Thank Marshman! Next year, lol.
I was just fishing at Chiquapin in Matagorda tx. I caught a 24" trout, a19 1/2" trout and a 15" trout at night using a double chad glow lure. I also had to throw back 2 -19 1/2" trout cause I was targeting redfish. It was great. Something I never experienced.
Todd, I am a long time fan and supporter. I had an accident 2 years ago and have a massive spinal injury. I'm paralyzed and in a wheelchair. That takes me out of going out in a boat for recreational fishing for the time being. I need help finding places like this where I can do some kind of fishing I'm suffering severe withdrawals I haven't had speckled trout or red fishin 2 years. I'd kill for even some marsh bass.... And I'm not a Bass guy..... lol I'd give anything to be able to go fishing, I won't let my boat go until the Dr. Tells me 100% I'll never walk again then I'll give it too my niece so her husband can take her 2 boys out fishing.......
Only a few minutes in but I can't believe you weren't hounded by people fishing there. Everyone who fishes shell beach and Hopedale has to drive by there.
That’s true when it warms up and start spawning. Higher salinity makes their eggs more buoyant. But in colder weather they’re right at home in brackish water
That’s not that big lol 19inch trout is nice but I’ve done that many many times lol, these big boats and deep pockets thinking y’all have to run so far to kingdom come haha, I’ve caught my limit so close to the dock in my 14 ft skiff numerous times while Billy and joe in the skeeter and yellowfin caught a buzz lol it’s priceless, it’s fishing don’t over think
That's what I love about my hometown of St.Bernard Parish & the whole state of Louisiana in general !!! We truly are The Sportsman's Paradise !!!
No doubt about that
I think these camp stove catch and cooks are my favorite videos now
Im glad you were nice to that guy from Wisconsin.
One of the many reasons I love south Louisiana. How cool to catch those trout of a a ditch lol good catch mr todd
Life's simple pleasures, fishing and dining by the ditch. I looked like a good time was had. I could almost taste it.

I was in Montana in July. Absolutely spectacular place. Of course, I'm not sure I'd like to be there this time of year ...

That’s great stuff! I see roadside cooking in my future.

I’m 7 minutes from there , have seen some crazy catches out of that ditch over the years
I went crabbing with hand lines by those culverts a few years back. Caught over 100 keepers in a few hours.
Great Video!!
That was great

Mitchell are you able to fish if we can get you onto a boat?
fantastic!!
Heading that way tomorrow with the boat. Maybe I should leave the boat home.
We fish on side of the road down by the Fourchon and we catch some nice fish
Cool… I have caught lots of reds and some flounder too but don’t think I’ve caught a lot of specs in them drains.

😂😂😂
Didn't see too many trailered boats at all. In fact, I'm not sure I saw one. Way too windy on Tuesday.
Who would have thought in water that low on salinity, always thought trout were real picky on salinity...🤗
That’s true when it warms up and start spawning. Higher salinity makes their eggs more buoyant. But in colder weather they’re right at home in brackish water
This is such a ridiculous video. I love it!
What did your wife say after you got home after eating the spicy fish and beans?! Great video as usual. Keep 'em coming Todd.
Rhe only species of saltwater fish I've ever caught were speckeled trout.👍😄
Him - "What should I throw?"
Me - "why aren't you already tying on a crankbait?"
That’s my crab boats .
Next episode we have ditch Snook
i just bought an ultralite and wonder what size line do you use
When I fish the ultralight, I use 4-pound-test
What are those speed worms you used
Z's Tackle Zimmer Swimmers, an absolutely fantastic bait.
Thanks
What Okuma series rod was that casting rod?
Tournament Concept. I absolutely love that rod.
Just a heads up but the sportsman outfitter links are broken (404 error).
If you mention the snag it shall occur lol
🤣
where is this place
Bro… 19.5” in a ditch…. Wtf. You know how many boats passed yall after running 100 miles that day and got skunked? lol the irony
@@COOKINGWITHJAY-504this dude here
🤣
@@COOKINGWITHJAY-504dude really? Just enjoy it. He's catching them in a freaking mostly freshwater ditch
i was thinking the same@@jacobchappetta9041
Glad you remembered it was a trout and not another bass and tried to lip that toothy critter. Ha.
When we cooked our fish on the bank of the bayou my Daddy would say it don't matter what the rich folk was eating 🤣
I'm not sure why it tastes better. It just does.
