Todd, I grew up fishing that side with my Father back in 1970. My father bought a new boat and we went almost every weekend. Back then between the car’s big 455 cu inch engine and the 36 gallons of gas in the boat, we would have to fill the car up to return home to Metairie we used 110 gallons of fuel just for a normal trip. Also I was 13 years old and I was the “tilt” feature on the outboard. Empire, and Buras is very special memories for me. I have not fished that side since the late 80’s. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge.
One of my wife's clients stopped at our Ponchatoula Wal Mart kiosk and graciously gave us a bunch of fine soft shell crabs and Wifey used the Red Lobster Bisquit mix(Rosemary and Garlic Parmesan cheese blend)and breaded some of dem soft shells and fried em up and they were more than INCREDIBLE!Should be chasing some specks soon, possibly tomorrow or Th!!
Your preparation of your trout looked spot on. I am an enthusiastic proponent of citrus and butter/cream sauces for seafood. This video would be perfect for Smellevision. Seriously.
Last year on a Saturday morning. There was basically a no tide day. All the guides were on the radio talking about this being the worst fishing day of the year. I basically had my best day fishing ever. Limited out on trout and redfish and boat was back on trailer by 10:30
One good thing about windy days, the gnats usually take the day off.

Even on the toughest days you seem to always prevail. Great video and for sure going to try that fish you cooked.
Tastes better than you’d think given how easy it is and how few ingredients
Fishing is always good. Even when it is fishing not catching.
Todd, hope you and your family are ok after the twister went through your area.. take care Rick
Thanks, Rick. Fortunately, our house was spared.
what general area is that? is it accesible from a kayak?
I see you scored on the $23 Adidas! I stocked up on them for work.
Wish I had stocked up as well. These are getting a little rugged
one more question... are you using limbo slice because of water clarity??
It seems to show up better at depth
Which app do you use to check tides for the area you fish
I monitor the USGS buoys daily
Did you film this during Ida?
😂😂😂 It definitely felt like it
See you at Chag’s on Wednesday??
Wouldn't miss it!
