Someone will get a gold ⭐️ for bringing the fish population back when in reality mother nature decided to play nice for a while. Nice video keep up the good work.
I love the tides in south Louisiana. The subtlety of the water movement turns the fish on. Over here Jacksonville, the tides run 2 to 3 feet. The water really moves in the bayous (they call them creeks). I fish the same way here as I did there. Thank heavens for Matrix Shad and Deathgrip. The Holy Joely does really well for trout here, either under a cork or on a jig fished deep.
Great video Todd. I usually don't like to copy people but I think i may get an Okuma Hakai reel. You've mentioned it quite a few times and I need to update my fishing equipment.
15:36 there’s no shortage of redfish just as I said, it wasn’t a shortage of speckle trout. They just moved out because of all the conditions by the time my kids get to be my age you won’t even be able to go fishing. no one even keeps red fish over 20 inches anymore. They’ve been taking 16 and 17 inch fish forever because everybody was told that’s the best fish to keep because of the worms. I can’t wait for all this overstepping of boundaries to blow up in their face, because there will be an uprising, the way things are going politically and that’s what this is. This is political they’re infringing on all of our rights they’re trying to take away. Every means there is for us to be able to live independently and live off the land live off the waters I don’t remember seeing anything in any constitutions about the government being all powerful enough to strip us of our God-given rights just saying.
I don’t understand why they wanna make us keep 20+ inch fish make the limit 16-20 inch red fish 5 per person. Don’t the bigger fish go out and spawn. Smaller fish taste better. 18 inch minimum is a bit too excessive.
Couldn’t agree more. Unfortunately most of the TH-cam and charter fishermen pushed for this a couple years ago and now even though the redfish have self replenished like they always have they are going to continue with the limit changes instead of listening to the people. I don’t know a single person who agrees with this change but the tyrants in charge don’t care.
Man Todd! I really loved the video! Bruh you must have suffered sitting in that marsh cooking with all those dang gnats, I kinda cringed and laughed at ya!! 😂 that top water bite was so cool!! Where is the GreenBoneChrome at!? And idk if everyone else feels the same but I’d watch a 60 minute video everytime you put one out!
I have experience of this in the UK. We do have some private tidal sections but the law here is that if you can detect salt in the water there is a public right to fish off a boat.
is that the sound of them air boats with those companies in the marsh marking and putting up signs? Great video and now we got a couple of days of a cool front. Going to slow things up. What do you think?
Would you please tell me what is the spray that you put on and where I can get it. I live in Florida and fish the mangroves and he can get unbearable. Thanks for a great videos.
Hey marsh man. I took your advice and bought some marsh romance for the gnat problems in the marsh. Quick question. Do you try to keep it off your hands for touching bait? Or doesn’t really matter. Just wanted to hear your opinion on it. As always the vids are top notch!
Todd, do you have an affiliate link for Hawk Soap Co.? After leaving the MS marsh this weekend due to gnats, I want to buy some Marsh Romance. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I've seen you mention it, and want to pay tribute to the source if possible.
Texas' speckled trout regulations were changed to a three-fish bag limit with a 15-20-inch slot. Anglers can keep one fish over 30 inches as part of the daily bag. Back in the day it was 10, then 5 and now 3. Fishing pressure from the guides and experienced anglers, along with a hard freeze two years ago have hurt Texas upper bay systems. The population will rebound given time.
Can I ask a question how can I go on a fishing trip with you man I would love it my dad use to love your TH-cam shows well now I can't say he seeing them because he died last month but all he use to say is ima try my best to hook up with this man to go what he do together one day
Are you right handed, using a left hand bait caster? I ask because I’m right handed and it feels like using a left handed bait caster is more natural because I don’t have to switch hands. I’m new to bait casters.
Yep, switching hands and working the rod with the non-dominant arm has never made sense to me. Most anglers hold the rod with their left hand while using baitcasters and hold the rod with their right hand while using spinning gear. I'll never understand it. Anyway, to each his own. I'm just glad manufacturers make left-handed baitcasters.
Todd, what’s the legality of what you’re doing? I’ve heard some states have laws saying you have to keep the fish whole while on the water. do we have a law like that ? What’s preventing someone from keeping additional fish by eating their first fish?
Ethics. If I had a camp on the water, and returned to the camp midday to eat what I caught, could I not go back out in the afternoon to finish my limit? What if that camp was merely a tent?
@@MarshManMassonwell I know you wouldn’t do it. Neither would I, but for closing loopholes I know other states like Texas have laws regarding keeping fish whole on the water. Love the content, it’s just something I keep thinking since you and Jared posted the first one
@@MarshManMassonI didn’t realize that. You know where I got the word on such law was that tv show “lone star law” or whatever. They had a boat they stopped at the dock and cited them for having the previous days filets onboard.
You don’t know if you don’t go. A day in the marsh is quality time. Everything else is a bonus. Great video Todd. TY.
Son zamanlarda gördüğüm en iyi anlatım. Bu tarz av yapmayan biri olarak aklımdaki soruların hepsini açıklamışsın. Teşekkürler
Thanks for putting the date on!

Old and worn top waters are my favorite too. Just means their tried and true 🎣💪🏼
Great video, my favorite thing to throw is a top water!
My son and I had a banner day last week on one knockers-Got that 2 man 5 fish limit before the 3 fish limit kicks in(TX)👍🏻

I'm a big fan of the Hakai.

That Marsh Romance works miracles. No way I would have done it without it. Back in my duck-hunting days, mandatory gear was a big, fat cigar.
Yes no doubt, we have always had the cigar when duck hunting!
Fun trip!
I inhaled about 3 gnats just watching the cooking segment but it certainly looked delicious hahah
Agree ,dead tide is waste of time here at slp texas.

Great recipe, downloaded

How does that Marsh Spray you use handle the mosquitos?
They make a product I like much better for mosquitoes called Skeet-R-Hawk. Swamp Fire is also great.

Imagine if you get some garlic bread with that plate
How do you get into a tagging system? And are the tags you use only good for Louisiana or can you use them in another state?
It's a Louisiana-based program run by a non-profit called RFRI.

No, I spray it all over my hands
Preach!
Uncommitted topwater trout! That would’ve been a prime situation for those Soft Dine’s we caught em on in TX
Yeah, or the Scope Stik. It's tough for me to put that topwater down if I'm getting any hits at all, and then I just ran out of time lol

Actually, Texas allows fish to be filleted on peninsulas or barrier islands.

You are always talking about tagging fish, so do you ever get reports on the fish?
