Hello from Frankfurt Germany. Just bought mine ES 700 today. My old Honda NX 650 Dominator has been sold. And yes...almost same bikes together with the KTM and the Husky. But i love the massive Red...Honda Fanboy still lives in me. And second yes...the seat height at the ES is high. Looks cool...but today with now almost 58 years coolness is not the main point. So even 6 Foot 2...188 cm...i decided to buy my ES with the original GasGas lower Kit 40 mm minus front and rear. Still high enough but better handling and both feet save on the ground. Maybe in hardcore cross using you will miss the 40 mm...but the hardcore times are over anyway...and for street and light outdoor is that now perfect for me. Just a tip to the Community. And last yes....146 Kilos dry and absolute legal 74 horsepowers ! That rocks ! And the prices are still good in the moment for 2022 models. The 2023 models are absolute the same with a higher price. Greets to all ya...😎
Hi, thanks for the video. I bought my ES700 in the summer and LOVE it, amazing riding with the electronics and the quickshifter on the road and it is fine for my off road skills. I came from a 450 6 days Exc. Looking forward to keeping this one for a while.
I have a 690 enduro r and it’s a lot of fun in the trails but it’s honestly a great city bike. I use it to commute to work and quick trips to the shops. I’d be stoked to have the Gas Gas SM because it looks great in red and I’d like to see how riding it differs from my enduro version
@@HeyAddieImTojo I would say, simply less mark up due to the brand name 🤷♂️ but basically, it’s like vw, we all know that skoda and Audi, seat etc are all the same, so it comes down to looks (and price) hence why I have a skoda and not a vw! Same car, but I saved 3000 when I bought it…
KTM sees no innovation from its Japanese competitors. It sees that the customers like to buy bikes in particular colors(blue/yellow:yamaha&suzuki, red for the Honda fanboys) so it fills that need.
Hello, great content, thank you for that. In addition I was expecting what are the specifities of the 2023 models and what are the differences with their equivalent ktm & Husqui. Cheers. 😀
I really wish they would offer a adventure style version of the KTM/Husky/GasGas big single. Better seat, some wind protection and seat height no higher than the SM version. I would prefer this to the heavier 790/890 twins.
A short period Husky made the 701 LR (Long Range), but in Denmark it was not possible to see or try it - so I chose the KTM790Adv (S) - and I´m VERY satisfied
Great looking bikes, but they’ve over-cooked it the red a little, the SM looks nicer with the touches of black. They may be cheaper but will they have the aftermarket parts offering like KTM 690 and Hsqy 701? Thanks for sharing Bob 🤘
It would be cool if you could buy the Sumo model and then just get an ES wheelset. Simple swap doesn't appear to be possible, though, with the different brake configs.
Why, exactly, do these bikes need to be so tall ? You mentioned KTM Dukes and so on that I have never heard anyone say lacks cornering ground clearance. BMW GS has had low chassis versions for awhile and make them more useful to average height riders like you and me.(5'9") This bike as is looks like it has unlimited ground clearance. How low of a seat height do you think they could get the street version down to and still have proper cornering ground clearance ?
Having owned a 2016 Duke 690, I'd move on to a different engine. It didn't treat me bad, just wasn't an engaging engine. I wonder if it has the goofy trans ratios as the KTM and Husky?
Not a brand we are familiar with in Canada. Never saw a GasGas motorcycle on our streets, not sure they are sold in here. Perhaps a euro brand? We have KTM and Husqvarva tho, will have to investigate. Cheers Bob!
Don't worry about the brand, fantastic and as tough as anything. Made their name mainly in Trials riding before KTM bought them. Italian. Have also just won the Dakar.
@@peterjohnclayton Spanish...the trials bikes are still made in Spain, but the enduro, MX and SM all made by KTM in Austria. It's a KTM 690 in a red frock, and a good deal lower priced. So I just ordered one!

With respect, I dont understand the "great content" comments. You used to actually road test these bikes. Just all seems like hearsay these days. Re-employ your photographer and swing an actual leg over ...
Give me the SuMo ! Much better looking than the KTM counterpart ! I don't thing GasGas it's sold in the USA or if there's any dealers around me (South East FL).
cast wheels on a supermoto is a little weird to me, but I guess this isn't really a racing bike. I think it would take a special kind of person to want to run a 700 in open class supermoto, haha
I really really like these style of bikes. If it didn't say "gasgas" on the side I would probably consider getting one... It's not a well known brand and it looks absolutely ridiculous.
They look the part but the fact that there are already two identical bikes from other "brands" doesn't sit well with me. I can't support KTM's business practices.
No different to vw/Audi/seat/skoda (Porsche, Lamborghini, Bugatti, etc etc) all the same owner, many of the cars are more or less the same but the prices differ. (Oh yeah, and they also own Ducati now as well 😉)
I’ve honestly never understood what a super Moto is. I guess it’s exactly what it looks like! But it always just looks to me like a dual sport with little, street slicks on it. Like I said,I honestly don’t get it!
I don’t see why anyone would buy it unless the weight is a positive for wheelies! I don’t see any other benefit and especially a single cylinder, Screw that !! So uncomfortable!

The tread wear on those super-moto tires looks like someone had a very good time riding!
That engine is a peach! I have it in my KTM 690 Duke and it's lovely!
Thank you mr Bob!

I love supermotos. Had two, including a dual sport conversion. Fun stuff and GAS GAS make it look great. 👍🤪🇨🇦
Dont really see why we need 3 versions of the exact same bikes. Is there much difference between these and the ktm/husky? 🤷♂️
Not knowing for sure, probably cheaper rims, plastics and other tidbits that not really affect performance, but price. It is 15% cheaper where i live

I’d love to see a 1290 super naked from GASGAS.
Personally like the red color better lol

Just for reference I ride a 690 SMCR and am 5' 9" with a short 30 inch inseam and have no problem.
Such a throwback these are! Looks like no one cares about SMs anymore
I'd love the Sm700, but like you said for the price, I would definitely get the duke 890 or an mt09 instead.
And miss the fun of a lightweight bike, You're welcome........
For me, the purpose of the bike comes first....
Don't look at specs, makre your judgement after you ride them all.
The 2nd biggest single ever after the 779cc DR800. I'd like an SM700 for the Yorkshire Dales.
In filipino, gasgas means scratched up, or abbrassions.

Too bad Husqvarna discontinued the Svart/Vit 701s. They may come back as 901s but they'll be heavier, more expensive, and douchier.
If these sm wheels were on the ktm 690 sm, itd be perfect!
Instead of all the versions of the same bike, why not one the same as the old 640 Adventure? Big tank, fairing comfy seat?
Husqvarna almost did it with the 701 LR but they've stopped producing it.
2:25 pro tip: if you leave the lights on it will kill the battery eventually....
That frame looks just like the 390 dukes KTM use I had one it looks identical even suspension
Can you carry a passenger on these models ( legal ) ?
AWESOME

is that 9 bikes with that engine? we need a line up.
So, the engine and body parts are 1-to-1 interchangeable with the KTM? Nice variation to an interesting platform 👍
Some are, some aren't...
Does the engine still needs the valves checking every 3k? Costing £280

Glad I watched this, I won't be buying one now, That's not a light bike. Totally defeats the object of a super moto imo.
