I am 1 of the very small team who organize this event every year, we have just finished putting our Victorian park back as it was before you all arrived and catching up with all the feedback. I just wanted to say thank you so much for coming and glad you had fun in the sun this year. As you know we race whether rain or shine. When we see videos like this and the feedback from yourselves and everyone else it makes all the blood, sweat and tears we shed all year to put the event on very worthwhile. We have already begun working on Aberdare Park National Motorcycle Road Races 2023, so keep your eyes and ears open. 😎💜🤙🏍🏁
Kirsty, I visit the races both days every year come rain or shine, and the efforts of everyone involved with the set-up and running of the event is VERY much appreciated. Thank You.
Hi Kirsty , Mike here (dog unit.) I have to say this is a great little promotional vid for Aberdare , it's surprising how many in bike world don't know it exists . I'd like to thank you all too because I was a spectator for years before last year and have thoroughly enjoyed , it's always been really well organised . Looking forward to next year already 👍🏻🙂👍🏻
I'm from Aberdare and years ago in the late 80's I went to watch the racing there with a mate who worked in the park as a gardener. One rider slid off after taking a corner too fast and as he slid across the road his bike went tumbling through the rather nice looking ornate rose beds. The spectators all went quite while waiting to see if the rider was ok (he was) but cutting through the silence you could hear one voice (my mate) saying "bloody motorcyclists, no respect for shrubbery".
In the late 70's I went with a couple of pals to watch the racing at Aberdare. One fella came off and hit a tree. He, like ourselves, was back the following year, he as a paralysed spectator in a wheelchair. I don't know how safety is there nowadays but back then, it was as dangerous as the TT, albeit at slower speeds.
@@michaelarchangel1163 the track surface has improved considerably, but the trees still line most of the outside of the track. So its still quite dangerous.
Second year for me and it was amazing to see Chris back with an even better line up of bikes. He was the perfect ambassador as always, infectious enthusiasm by the bucket load, happy to chat and just the coolest dude on and off track. That GasGas has also just gone onto my list of bikes I might need to take a closer look at as well! Hopefully see you all again next year!!! 👊😎
Was there both days, the racing was abso fab. Everyone enjoyed your wheelies Chris. Sooooo relieved Milo Ward is relatively OK after his horrific crash on the Saturday.
Very similar to Beveridge Park in Kirkcaldy back in the day. Trees, off-camber corners, gravel patches, TZ350s and Katanas. Great days, wish they'd bring that back.
How are my only now seeing this ? Seen you bossing it on that little 400 again this year !keep up the good work chris love the videos ,ps you've got balls of steel
I went to Aberdare Road Racing in the mid 90's. A Supermoto Spec Kawasaki KX 500 was blowing everything into the Dust. He'd wheelie the whole start/finish straight every lap. Hero. I now have a KTM 640 LC4 in his honour!
Brilliant video . Great results Chris 👍👏. Been to aberdare park to watch racing a few times. What a place to get close to the racing. I think Mark Forsyth ,journalist and performance bikes rider rode a super motorcycle there years ago. Good stuff mate . Well done . 👍🏴
Used to happen at Beveridge Park in Kirkcaldy from 1948 to 1988 when they held the last ever race due to safety concerns. Nice to see that it's still taking place in Wales.
I saw the then new GSXR 1100 slabbies at Beveridge Park, I think the width of the "track" was less than Aberdare. The hairpin at the end of the straight was always interesting, if you overshot then you could be through the gates of the park onto a public road!!
I was there on the Sunday, it was brilliant! I'll certainly be going again next year.. I didn't know you relied on a lucky dip for the grid places hahaa
Chris overdosing on adrenaline ! Need more race action for next year Chris, get one of the clan gemmed up on the camera 👍 Would love an NC30 or 35, but know I'm too big for one ☹
Started the weekend on the stock settings from the manual and then switched to the ‘sport’ settings to firm it up a bit. Worked pretty well to be fair especially on the stick tyres. Given more time I would have played with making it a bit stiffer again as it moved around a fair bit on the brakes when I pushed hard.
The rear shock needs its rebound opened all the way. You can see the rear in the air over the small bump. It’s just not returning fast enough. If you push down on the rear you will see it slowly creep back up. Opened up it returns properly and won’t pack down.
Ive been going for a few years now and took my daughter for her first road race this year, she's decided that she wants a bike, but not sure on racing it just yet.

Met him in the paddock. Top bloke. Mad for it!
GasGas was mad!!

Love every bit of it. A true grassroot / tight local community event.
Cracking day out, excellent racing and t-shirt tan to boot ;)
Most excellent, one of your best
Absolutely love that little track. Also congrats👏 you did quite well. Always good seeing you race.
Outstanding achievement, congrats! Seems you had a lot of fun! Unfortunately there (almost) are no such events here in Germany.
great to see some 400's in there, my favourite class!
Congratulations mate. Top job and great video. Got to love the purposefulness of the NC30. It just looks fantastic in its element.
Well done Chris, some fantastic racing and really well done on the NC400.
You've come a long way since doing your online ACU course last year.
Well that was just an awesome little video.
Well done Chris. Looks like a great day out 😎
Love it... Happy Chris indeed!
Fantastic fun! What an achievement! 👍

@@dundeedeek The image I have in my mind's eye is Roy 'The Hulk' Anderson wheelieing his Honda CBX1000 through the park. :o
It looks really FUN! thx Chris!😄

That Honda still sounds amazing, surprised the super moto did so well against road bikes rad idea.
Serious commitment at 8:26 there.
Good job Chris, it looks like more fun than a barrel of monkeys. And I seen you riding around the outside of Sir Al Fagen at one point as well. 👏👏👏🏁
that honda sounds so good
Don't know who Northover Small Engines is but that shirt is awesome !
I guess I posted too soon into the vid 😅
Awesome video guys! I’m restoring an NC 30 at the moment Chris so loved seeing it on the track! Well done on your wins man. Great racing.
Cheers Jon

Think I saw some 44T leathers out there?
Is that an old pushrod 125cc Honda engine on your shirt? I need one!
NC30 is such a gem.
Nice, looks like an awesome weekend!!
Really interesting in the GASGAS as a racer. -mind sharing the suspension settings you used to make it work?

Hot summer's day in the UK: 82 degrees F 😀
Try to do this in Australia and people would fall from the sky to stop it. So jealous.
the old gen bikes looks very very new
Thought it's the aberdare park in kenya 😅
NC30 spread of power prevailed😍
Where is Chris?
oh
The psycho wheelieing in the middle of the pack 🤪
lol
Ive been going for a few years now and took my daughter for her first road race this year, she's decided that she wants a bike, but not sure on racing it just yet.
Lol, i have 3 sons & 1 Daughter and my Daughter is the only one that rides bikes.....she loves them so much it's all she talks about.
Give us an hour long version please
Respect from Karachi Pakistan 🇵🇰♥️
Loovveee it!
See that? An old Honda can still kick ass
When I used to illegally race my Gamma600 stage 3 against those NC30,s they were always better handling round the twisties
LETS goooo
