Yeah, people are not getting that KTM/Husky/Gas Gas are really helping to keep dirt bikes, SX , MX, and off-road racing alive. Our sport has really been suffering, with teams going away, deserved riders not getting rides, etc. I truly hope Suzuki doesn't totally go away from SX/MX... with half a dozen tweaks, they would be back in it. From a regular consumer point of view, more choices equals more competition and hopefully overall better prices and service.
I keep trying to tell people this. If it wasnt for ktm we wouldn't have xc versions of yamaha and honda nor the, Beta probably wouldn't have blown up nor sherco. All people do is complain about others success.
Gas Gas would never be doing as well as they are without KTM. The more brands on the gate means more factory rides for the riders. I don't understand all of the hate towards KTM, Husky and Gas Gas. There must be many guys getting smoked every weekend by these great brands.
They have been around a long time. I had an old gasgas 06. Ragged it on an off road, for 2 years without even needing to touch the engine. Sold it used but still solid
I just picked up a 2022 gasgas mc250 2 stroke. I love it, I rode the 250sx and didn’t notice much of a different other than the seat. The KTM seat has a lot more grip in my opinion.
definitely one of my favorite things are the seats on these ktm/hus/gas is that they are actually comfortable to sit on not like your sitting on a rock
So buying a KTM and putting different bolt on parts on it makes it a whole new brand? 🤣 Make sure you use Maxxis tyres or it will change into a different manufacturer...

A few corrections- KTM and GasGas triple clamps are forged. KTM special edition models are billet. All Husqvarna triple clamps are billet. KTM has Brembo brakes/hydraulics. Husqvarna brakes/hydrulics are Magura. GasGas brakes/hydraulics are Braktec. GasGas will have less components and less bling and will be made in Spain where labor costs are said to be less as well.
its wasn't that long ago a cr250 was 5500 and the cr450 was 6k what the hell happened there just as unaffordable as when i was in high school working minimum wage.

It’s crazy how expensive dirt bikes are now. I was born in 1984 and when I was around 14 a brand new 250 was under 5k, the dealerships would have used bikes for nothing I remember a 6 year old yz 250 was 1100 bucks it wasn’t brand new but it wasn’t shot you could tell it was trail driven from the scratches on the plastics. Back in 2005 I sold a 1996 rm 250 that was in like new condition it had many thousands in new parts all top of the line stuff, built motor by a very reputable guy from my area known for doing the best port work but even then they were only going for 1500-2000 max.
As far as the suspension, it's the KTM stuff not the lowered Husky stuff correct? Which clutch master cylinder, Brembo(ktm) or Magura(hus)? It didn't get its own ECU maps to match the different header? I assume it will have less bottom end without the powerbomb? Thanks for the info on the forged triple clamps :/ and for clearing up which swing arm they have.
For the average rider that doesn't race and just rides trails the differences between the bikes only boils down to which color/plastics you like best. Only thing I would want that gasgas doesnt have is that map switch but it might not be an issue idk never ridden one

A Starter. That requires a Battery. Back when we were riding the idea was to shave weight, not add weight, which is why I never understood Water Cooling...just more weight to have to throw around. But back to this Starter thing...riders can't kick a bike any more? Seriously? That soft now?
It's basically just a way to tune your engine to make more or less power by changing fuel mapping and ignition timing. Pretty useless since almost everyone I know just runs the most powerful map.
This is so sad..... They should have kept the original Gas Gas 125, 200, 250 and 300 2 stroke engines and used them in there line up. The 250 and 300cc 2 stroke GG engines are realy something special. They are the best enduro/woods engines made for any bike EVER.
Big difference between producing and developing. KTM is actually still spending money on R&D for their 2 strokes. The YZ’s are awesome no doubt but Yamaha could do better. The YZ’s have basically been the same since 06 when they switched to an aluminum frame. Since then they’ve only updated little things like Ti foot pegs, tires, & plastics/graphics. Engine & chassis have been the same for about a decade and a half and the bikes sell for around $8k?!

I'm in product engineering and you bet a stamped resonance chamber is going to cost more than a pipe. You need a stamping die to build that resonance chamber and it's big $$$.

Then the Swede dont like KTM. So then they bought Husqvarna and try to make it Swedish again. After they just put the Swedish brand Husaberg down😝 So I will never buy a KTM i life.
For a saving of 800$ Ill take a ktm with the billet triples and the black branded rims, mapping switch and header pipe. They cut production costs, but for the consumer only 800$ saving. No thanks

Ok here is one. What is the difference between a factory Ktm, Gg and husky. Looking at pro enduro they have the same engine, same frame, same linkage, same cone valves, same exhausts etc. Its sad to see 3 teams hang out together testing under the one wp van as team competition is dead.

When will gas gas be available to purchase in the US ? I can’t decide if I should get a YZ250F or a KTM/Husky 350/250f. I raced growing up so I’m leaning towards the 350 to grow into cause I could use the extra power after I get back or close to the speed I had when I stopped racing. I’ll never buy a 450 and push the bike to its limit but I would probably be able to use the power that a 350 brings to the table
They are available. I bought the EX350F 3 weeks ago here in Ms. I added the map switch, bark busters, and black skid plate. Coming from a 18 KX450 I’m a lot smoother and consistent and it doesn’t wear me out after riding.
@@DavidDavid-ft4ry yeah I know and they handle in the corners better too whist by them putting the air filter at the front of the bike, but they dropped the power a few pegs for the 2021’s. I’d get a 2020 if I could find one lol at least in the shootouts they were saying the 2021 yz250f doesn’t pull out of the corners like they were the past few years. Still prob the best bike overall but not the fastest this year
So basically, the works-riders will add all of the parts that the gas gas is missing, making it a regular KTM and creating more work for the mechanics...
KTM is not good a force for good in the the dirt bike community. KTM are buying up other brands to reduce competition. This reduces consumer choice and allows KTM to keep their prices high. MAM and other dirt bike magazines should start calling this monopolistic behaviour out and people should stop buying KTMs: the orange ones, the white ones and the red ones.
Killing moto? How?? In the early 2000’s there were 4 manufacturer bikes in the USA. Now because of KTM there are 7. Yeah the prices are insane on their bikes but it does give people more options. I was on KTM for the last 2 years but decided to pick up a 21 yz450f. That’s the beauty of it. We have more options now

Pretty much every new bike has a map switch meaning you can change to different fuel mapping with that switch

2021 yz250f is fast af and has plenty of power

Equal in material and hardness a Forged triple clamp will always be stronger, just not as pretty.
Thank goodness for KTM or these other brands would more than likely be gone.
Good for ktm but I wish they would've kept gasgas ge way they were. I bought a beta when I heard ktm bought gasgas

KTM is not good a force for good in the the dirt bike community. KTM are buying up other brands to reduce competition. This reduces consumer choice and allows KTM to keep their prices high. MAM and other dirt bike magazines should start calling this monopolistic behaviour out and people should stop buying KTMs: the orange ones, the white ones and the red ones.

Killing moto? How?? In the early 2000’s there were 4 manufacturer bikes in the USA. Now because of KTM there are 7. Yeah the prices are insane on their bikes but it does give people more options. I was on KTM for the last 2 years but decided to pick up a 21 yz450f. That’s the beauty of it. We have more options now
