    I'm all in on middle-weight motorcycles with 100-120 horsepower and relatively lightweight. These motorcycles provide everything I need in a lighter and less expensive package. Last summer, I bought a Tiger 900 Rally Pro as my go-anywhere motorcycle. It's super comfortable, relatively lightweight, and plenty fast.

      I did the same, except a year earlier..2023 model (dang it). But yeah I love it and it def is my go-anywhere bike and I take it Norcal to AZ down through Baja and back. Love it. I did a ton of mods like bash plate, crash bars, top case, lights, mosko moto everything for moto camping and exploring.

    I bought the tiger sport 660 in roulette green because your vids. I didn’t know these even existed until I saw your vids. And this bike is exactly what I needed. The sporty side of a naked, with the practicality of a small “touring”. So yh, thx Bob! It’s coming somewhere this month :)

      @ If you have some spare time, go book a testride. The engine is amazing, very smooth down low and builds up nicely. Way more comfortable and controlable then a parallel twin. And the chasis feel amazing. It’s very nimble and flickable. Low speeds it very easy and smooth and mid to high speeds also feel very good. And the seating position is very comfy. And when you wanna push it a lil’, you just lean forward a bit and you can really enjoy some sporty riding

    If you ride urban at night, do not get a Tracer with the split headlight, please. I ride bikes and I almost turned in front of a scooter rider with split lights because all I saw at night were the headlights of a car 300 metres away and not a bike 25 metres away outside of my beam. It left me shaken that I was so close to misjudging that.

    Smaller Chicken Strada needs a Pikes Peak version with a 17" front wheel/tire.
    I like what Ducati did with it's new V2 and older Gran Turismo V4 engine: GOODBYE DESMO AND TIMING BELTS ! ✌😊
    Save it for your race and high HP street bikes.
    Can't wait to see the new V2 DESMO-less engine installed in the HyperMotard and Desert X.
    I so want a Desert X but not all the DESMO BS that comes with it.
    EDIT: Base R18 looks really good and clean.
    I rode a W/C GS 1200 and thought the engine was silky.
    I would like to experience how the 1.8L Boxer feels.

    Harley davidson and touring should never be in the same sentence. Imagine trying to ride 2 up, with luggage probably weighing 500kg+ on a 40% inclined british switchback? Or on italian cobbled steets? Or super narrow german streets? Or navigating around French drivers on a French roundabout? Or loading onto a Greek ferry? Or dodging Norwegian potholes in the north? Or wanting to open-up down Spanish mountain passes?
    Touring on a harley davidson sounds like hell

    • @simonhouel1984

      I come from Harley and I conccur.
      Harley are not that much comfy, very heavy and none can take a helmet inside a saddlebag ... none.
      The luggages are ridiculous.
      All of that for bikes that have less and less actual metal parts and those parts are thinner and thinner.
      The toughness impression is not there anymore.
      But prices went up and they do not retain their value anymore.

    Tracer 9 looking more like a goldwing now 😂 I think i am getting the tiger 800

  • @iansmith237
    @iansmith237 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    With the Tiger Sport 800 garnering so much praise it almost seems as though the middleweight sports tourer segment is making a comeback which is super exciting to me. That said, the 800 and the Kawasaki Ninja 1100SX are easily the two I'd most like to own. The rest get quite a bit too tech heavy or are a bit too underpowered (Sport 660) for my preference. And I'll never find anything about American style tourers exciting - and I say this as an American.
    Also, I'll never understand why people think the Multistrada is a handsome motorcycle. Sure, it's not downright ugly like it's first version but it's such a goofy looking motorcycle. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder though. It's a shame that Ducati gave up on the Supersport, I think it'd do well in the current market.

    • @iansmith237
      @iansmith237 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @samoksner As a sports tourer? I personally don't think so. Sure, anything can be one but first and foremost it's a sport bike right? I think its engine in a Supersport with cruise control, an adjustable windscreen, heated grips and some OEM luggage options would probably be pretty incredible though.

    I'm highly likely going to be getting a Tracer 9 as my fist new bike this year. It's unfortunate but I understand why Yamaha is only realesing the base model in the US this year. We only got the GT+ in 2024 and they just didn't sell and are languishing at dealerships near me for $16,500. Sport Touring motorcycles are all but dead here, it seems. Would really have liked to get the GT for the phone connectivity and keyless ignition but I'm happy to see the base model here come with cruise control and cornering lighting as standard as those are the two features I'll use most. I'll have to order a quick shifter as I'd like to try it out but it doesn't come as standard.

    Massive minus point for NT1100 in Thailand is : Side cases are not standard equipment and not even have the option to buy it. Only way you can get it is to order sperate from Honda Europe by your self.
    Because of Honda Europe came with side cases as standard. None of major case malefactors care to make a rack for it. That's mean the only option left for you to use side cases is to make DIY rack to use with NT1100.

    I honestly expected the Harley to cost more in England than it does? They lost their court case with the EU and maybe that doesn’t affect their price in England? I know they said that are hemorrhaging money to do business in Europe because of the tariffs, and have yet to pass along the full burden of that to the consumer, but that is apparently coming as the EU seem unwilling to back off on these massive tariff hikes. I’m sure they will appeal, but I look for prices in Europe to skyrocket for a new Harley Davidson in the near future. What a shame. I’m American, and the price here is bad enough!

    BMW a no go. Reliability issues and overpriced. Yami Tracer 900 now very ugly, Triumph 800 a good option for NZ and a very good looking bike. Maybe the perfect bike for single touring in NZ and EU. Honda NT needs a 3 cylinder. Big touring bike with a African Twin motor....NAH!!! Kawasaki Versus and Ninja seems the best options. The African Twin with a 19' front wheel is also a good option for NZ. The rest not even worth making any comments on. I owned only Yami's before. The looks and overkill on tech from Yami now are "killing" me. a Research done by Triumph indicated that the majority of riders do not want adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection etc. or any fancy tech. We are bikers, not Tesla owners. That's for vegans on Prozac's and Valium's and living on Tofu.

    Does anyone really like all those Automatics? I've tested both Yamaha's new box and Hondas DCT. And I don't like them. They shift too hard and goes to a too high gear, that makes the ride sluggish and keeps you waiting for the downshift before you can overtake or get away from a dangerous situation. DANGEROUS!

    • @1962jpg
      @1962jpg 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      I own a new Honda NT1100 DCT, and the gearshift is so smooth you can barely tell it’s changed gear (both up & down). Far slicker than any manual box with or without a quick shifter. There are 3 sports modes which hold onto gears longer to varying degrees, so no problem if you want a more spirited ride with predictable gear changing…
