It's definelty worth getting the I6 Duramax. As for price, it all depends what package you want and willing to spend. Great video! 👌

Terrific job with your content as always Ben.

The Duramax is not an option for the Z71 due to its frontend higher approach angle. That would have been what I would have purchased. My guess is that GM will most likely offer the new LZ0 Duramax in the Tahoe, Yukon, suburban family sometime late in 2023 or for 2024 once they deplete their current inventory commitments and on-hand inventory. I just cant imagine them carrying two sets of inventory and the planning and logistics associated with two engines vs one that are basically very similar and for the same application. Having one engine for both the truck and the large SUV segment gives you more buffer or safety margin and flexibility in your production forecasting errors.

Guess the z71 trim will come with the duramax for 24. Hopefully. But getting these 3.0 on a Tahoe/Yukon is a wait game for sure.

Diesel is $1.50 more per gallon than unleaded where I live. You add that extra cost plus Def fluid and more expensive oil changes I would guess your not saving much at the end of the year.

      Personally, I really like my 2022 Tahoe 4WD w/ 3.0L diesel
Diesel may currently cost nearly 50% more than regular unleaded but I also get nearly 50% better fuel economy than the 5.3L or 6.2L gas engines. Got over 11K miles on mine now and usually go 440-500 miles between fill-ups (with 100+ mile range left in the tank). Avg 24-25 mpg in “regular driving” and 28+ on longer road-trips (not towing).
Have been adding a 2.5gal box of DEF when I change the oil every 5k miles or so, which tops off the 5 gallon DEF tank.
      - Spend about $75-80 for ACdelco oil filter and dexosD 0w-20 oil kit (delivered to my house)
      - Spend about $15 for the 2.5 gal DEF (at Home Depot)
      - Spend about 30 minutes of my time (in my garage)
Haven’t changed the $30 fuel filter yet since indicator still shows about 60% life left in the original.

The agenda is clear to anyone paying attention . Hit the pocket for anything other than ev that gets good milage like an efficient diesel engine . We still have options but they make the diesel fuel more expensive on purpose to hit the pocket book. In order to force people to tap out and go EV eventually.

The wierd thing is how did this 2023 Tahoe get a panoramic moonroof while my dad bought a 2024 Tahoe diesel same as your car busy no moonroof at all. Did they cheat on us. I need an explanation

Love how them and the Yukons look on the outside but inside look ugly ( just my opinion). If they would make it like the 1500 trucks then to me that would be hands down the best interior. The prices now days are way too stupid high.

$80K and a cheap interior. Whoever is chief of interior design for these vehicles needs to get the shaft.

Been running new Tahoe’s since the mid ‘90’s, trade every 5-7 years at about 130-160k miles. We have been a big fan of the interiors because they’ve been reasonably nice, durable, and yet still easy to clean/maintain. I’m ok with the MSRP price, and I don’t need or want a luxury interior in my new Tahoe. Maybe Chevrolet is listening to long term repeat buyers like me?

    • @nitrodoc
