To those of you considering one of these: Make sure you take it for a good test drive. I loved the powertrain, but the cabin air pressure made me get rid of it after a month.
@@ay3514 It gave us headaches. The headliner has HVAC pipes in it and isn't secured very well, and it's like riding inside a subwoofer. I made a video about it.

Thanks for the review on the Deisel. We just ordered a 2022 Suburban LT Duramax (Deisel just came off of conrestraint) and we are pretty excited about it. The 2022's have the digital screen gages. I believe that's the only difference from the 2021 to the 2022. Hopefully Chevy picks our the order soon. Dealer estimated Feburary delivery.

Diesel is the way to go. I have a 2016 Mercedes Benz GLE300d diesel. Best car I’ve ever owned. 28-30 MPG local driving, 36-40 highway. That’s a range of over 600 miles local, over 700 miles highway. Off the line and for passing traffic it pulls like a tractor with the smooth whoosh of a Bentley. In the cab it’s silent as a church. They don’t make it anymore of course so my next vehicle could very well be a Tahoe Duramax.
I had a 21 Silverado3.0 and loved it for the fuel mileage , I’m trading in my 23 tahoe for a Tahoe dmax this weekend , since the dfm on the 5.3 kills the lifters and I don’t wanna worry about it , I can’t wait to get back into a 3.0 dmax
Current owner of a GL350 Bluetec and after the Benz I’m a bit married to the idea of another diesel. Would love to hear your thoughts on this vs your previous GL. I came from a Ford SUV and the Mercedes is just light years ahead in terms of build quality and fit/finish.
In short, I had to get rid of it. It's a fantastic vehicle with a brilliant drivetrain that had one major flaw - check out my video about the cabin air pressure issue.

Im getting rid of my 2021 escalade V8 only getting 10-11 MPG no matter what. The dealer has done updates and they tell me its fine. Luckily I can sell it for more then what I bought and im ordering a Diesel.
I’m on the fence with the new Duramax platform. I saw a rst 4x4 last month almost fully loaded in transit for under 63k!! Own 2014 Tahoe lt. Autostart is the dumbest invention made. It is definitely not good for turbos.. traps the hot oil in turbo until it turns back on. I made my dad get in the habit of turning it off on his 2018 f150 xlt 3.5 ecoboost. I also have him idle for a few minutes before shut off. Not sure if turbo timers will work on regular tune. I use to work at mb of flemington. Nice video and personal review. ‘"Ac compressor off " I like your style lol
How’s it holding up since video made? I finally see a deal on a LT for 59,995 deal is until 9/30. I’m tempted but worried about fuel prices in the future or at least the next 3 years..
Any new updates how has the truck been behaving any issues? Also what MPG are you getting in city driving? Lastly how often do you have to put DEF Fluid? Looking at seeing if I can get a Tahoe just like yours hopefully I can find one.

They weren't kidding when they said the cadillac is a money grab cause this is as quiet as the escalade and the materials aren't as cheap in the chevy anymore.

The turbo on this is water cooled. When you turn off the engine, you will hear the actuators moving for about 8 seconds moving the fluids around. (and Sirius/XM are crooks)

I bought it in 2021. The dealer had accidentally advertised a $1500 discount off MSRP, and even though they said it was an error, they still honored the price, so I paid about $53900 for it if I remember correctly.
this is not overal mpg. this is sectional mpg. in right conditions you can pump that to over 100... but ofc that is not the mpg you will get. in a bad section of road you will get 8..... so what does that average to? holy shit it averaged to what the epa numbers say :))
@@johndonovan7018 You can definitely get better than what I got for the 25 mile loop. I know a section on the PA turnpike where it's pretty easy to do.

I have the 5.3 in the previous gen tahoe but to get the 6.2 i have to go to the gmc (whose looks i actually hate) or cadillac (way too fancy). so been thinking about the diesel seriously. For better or worse the car market is too hot so i might have to wait a model year till '22 or '23 rolls in

im getting a 22 LS with the 5.3L i'm shocked at you going 70ish and getting over 32 mpg at 1500 rpm in your diesel. impressive sir!

I haven't checked out the Cadillac version yet but I want to. Might be a while before we see another diesel version.

The Escalade didn’t even have nicer seats in the previous gen. All it had was different lights and grille.
These turbos are air and water cooled not oil
Wrong,the bearings between the exducer and inducer are lubricated by oil 100%. The inner cooler is water cooled with its own separate pump.
