I am so proud of you. I have somewhat of a similar story, but my #BioDad had already passed away when I finally located him. Be well. Be safe. Be Loved. Peace

I am sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. Were you able to connect with anyone that knew him? “Matt” eventually found out who his father was - and he is now deceased. I know both of your fathers would be so proud of you!

I love that you are going to see a counselor and sharing this publicly- I think it is good when public stories share this because I think it helps others recognize tools like counseling are really needed sometimes and it's not a shameful thing to utilize resources we have for support and guidance. It can help in processing and dealing with stresses and just so much that comes with life experiences sometimes! Love this:) Thank you

I completely agree. Counselors have helped me with some very difficult times. Thank for commenting and supporting me on this journey.

You're my age. I am adopted and am in the beginning stages of starting a search for my father, who doesn't know I exist. I will never consider him or my bio mom family. I have a family. I consider blood relatives ancestry and where I came from.
Thanks for telling your story and letting me see how people react to what is startling news.

When I needed a counselor, I found a wonderful therapist through Lutheran Social Services, who helped me through two very difficult years of my life. I hope you establish a wonderful relationship, and that you can continue to meet with her for the time that it will take to go through all the changes necessary to heal the gaps and truly become a new kind of family. Blessed be.

I'm so excited for you and this huge experience you are going through in your life!! I am commenting because I love that you say "cousin brother" :) so cute :) haha

Yeah, my brother hates being called “cousin brother.” I think it’s a good way to describe the situation, he thinks it sounds like incest.

I'm watching these videos after the fact and I'm so glad you are seeing a therapist. My concern was that your mother said something about your father that his sisters confirmed. You don't need to discuss that issue with us, but for your own safety and well-being, you need to discuss that issue with someone. So glad you are letting the Lord lead you.

Zoe, I've been catching up on your video's. I have to tell you that so many of your feelings you speak of are exactly what I went through when I found my biological family! The big difference is that I was 60 when I met my biological Father. He was 86 when we met a year ago today ! I also found out I have 4 half siblings on his side. I'm the oldest and my sister next to me in age and I could be twins !! It's crazy... But in a good way !! I also found my Mother's side. Unfortunately she had passed away. But I have a HUGE family, my Grandma was one of 15... You do the math on how many cousins I found !! Lol !! I've been welcomed with open arms and love filling that hole where they belonged !! Blessings dear one!

What do you ask him???? so much to ask him. Take the DNA test, his childhood memories, his likes and loves, is he a big faith guy, Health history so much you need to know to pass on to your kids. Have him share a good memory of your mom... might be the night they made u or when u were born who's idea was it to name you your name. Ask him questions about him. easy. done.
