    I wore a Subby to Jamaica in 1990. Wore it SCUBA diving during the day...and under the sleeve of my tux when I got married that night. It is indeed an amazing watch. The "boooooring" crowd are just being contrarian. 😂

    Afaik the cyclops is the same material but has double AR coating i.e. top and bottom to give it the black hole effect, whereas the main crystal just has AR coating on the underside. Those AR coatings are scratched up much more easily, so that`s probably where your scratch is, not in the saphire itself. Great video! Been watching since a while now!

    • @cheynewalls
      @cheynewalls  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great to hear, appreciate that! Thanks for the info, I was hoping for that, but sadly it is a chip, when I rub my finger over it feels coarse and when I first hit it on a rock, whipping it off I felt a pieces of sapphire fall off. Thanks again, Cheers

      @@cheynewalls Yeah, it's sapphire and the same as the rest of the crystal. One of the properties of sapphire crystal is that it is extremely hard and scratch resistant, but it will shatter at high impact. Based on your description, it seems like a little piece shattered off.

    Ahh forget those people that say it shouldn’t have a date window. Both versions are classic. You get a diver style and capability PLUS a date wheel. Curious, what size are your wrists? I’m debating getting the Explorer 2 but I think it’s too big for me. Your wrists look like 7” or more

    Interesting your movement is so consistent. I have a 2024 and it usually lives on my wrist day and night, even when I sleep. I lose about 2 seconds every 24 hours. I have noticed when I leave it face up in my watch box for 24 hours it gains around 1 second. So if I were to leave it off at night I'd probably be averaging around 1 second lost per day. It truly is a great watch overall, probably my favourite in the the Rolex line, the right blend of heritage, class and utility.
