@@maxswatchbuilds8129 fair play mate. Yeah I think it depends on what sort of restaurant you're going if in London. Can easily go to a nice restaurant in London have two or three courses get a couple of bottles of wine and spend 80 - 100 quid a head
Two things for me. That Nomos has gotta have a better strap for that amount of money. And wow, that Zenith El Primero is dead sexy. When I was deciding between chronographs, I ultimately went with the Speedmaster over the El Primero because of servicing. If/when that El Primero needs a service, it's gonna cost a pretty penny. Servicing costs and the costs for parts for these niche movements is something that should be talked about more by watch collectors.
Tissot is a great gateway - I would argue the Gentlemen Powermatic 80 Silicium is a more classic timeless choice (like Rolex Datejust) then a PRX but it’s personal choice.
As a first luxury watch, my advice would be, always an automatic, always a steel bracelet, buy what you like but pay attention to a nice dial, preferably a Swiss brand OR a Seiko.
Im usually not a huge fan of the super modern, high-tech looking watches - but that Accutron remake is really something else. Definitely going to be one of the next watches on my list :)
Rado is a real watch. the Captain Cook models are a great addition and have really put Rado on the radar once again. They were one of the darlings of the quartz era also first brand to use sapphire crystals
Always interesting to see what people consider as entry level or what they choose for their first purchase. My first “big”’purchase was a £45 Ricoh Medallion which was and still is stunning with a chocolate dial and original bracelet. Meanwhile I’ve seen folks asking what £10k watch they should buy as a gift for their father in law. It’s truly fascinating to hear opinions from multiple financial stand points. Now I’ve a Breitling 808, a few £1k+ chronographs and divers and I am always excited to see where my collection ends up. But I find it much harder to appreciate many watches I once aspired to buy. So it’s very interesting to hear what folks that spend tens if not hundreds of thousands on watches think on pieces that cost as much as their loose change 😅
Mr. O'Leary collects watches at another level and for another reason than most of us, and that's fine. Affordability is certainly a very relative and subjective term. The last time I spent >$300 for a meal was when I treated my entire staff for congratulatory lunch. A key factor to consider is opportunity cost; every dollar spent on a watch (or whatever) could have been spent some other way or saved. Being able to afford an item is not the same as being able to justify buying it.
@0:07, "Instead of going out to dinner, buy a watch", absolutely. After the plate is empty, that's it, there's nothing left. Buy a watch, you can wear it, you can sell it (depending on the piece, it will appreciate in value). Even if the watch depreciates, there is usually some salvage value. After you eat and consume the food, no one wants to buy the by product (you're money literally went to the toilet).
Have never been a watch guy myself but surfing the web because I'm buying my first ever watch soon! It's probably either going to be a G-Shock GM-2100CH-1A or G-Shock GM2100B-3A. Maybe one of their watches from the GST-B400 series. Idk so many to choose from, that's more my style. All the watches I'm looking at are under $300, yet look like they should be much more. I don't mind the style watches in this video but 90% of them are not my taste, and 5x more expensive. I wish he would have put one of the G-shocks into this video, because any one of them that I have named off is incredibly good looking and actually affordable, not 8k lol.
"Affordable", "cheap" and "budget" are too much relative, specially regarding things like watches. That's why i prefer price marks straightaway: "A, B and C between $100 and $200", "D, E and F between $300 and $500" and so on. You pick your limits and see what's there.

I actually believe an accurate and certified chronometer will cost maybe more than a good old chronograph from the 60's or 70's.
Of course I'm talking smaller brands than Omega or Rolex.
But you'll easily come across a few Seiko, Dugena, Wakmann, Cauny, Citizen or even some Yema...
@@abelsauvaneix3951 OK.
Swiss ,Tissot, automatic 'Couturier'!
anOrdain, anOrdain, anOrdain, anOrdain..can't say it enough. Amazing dials!!! 🔥🔥 🔥
like that Kevin appreciates these more budget watches. He pronbably doesnt wear watches under 5000, but he does show appreciation for every watch!
Surprised to see no love for Ball on here. IMO they’re very tough to beat in the $1,000-$2,000. The finishing is top notch and they have that watch making heritage around them.
“Instead of going out for food, you can buy a watch” (watch price $300) I think Kevin is slightly out of touch which what the average couple will spend on a meal out 🤣
It's not too far off that surely
@@JW-db8bz average date night meal out to a fairly nice restaurant for my girlfriend and me will cost about £40-50, which is like $55-70ish so way off 300
@@maxswatchbuilds8129 I'm from england bro. You aint going to that nice of restaurant and spending 20-25 quid a head. Especially if you're drinking as well. Well not in London anyway
@@JW-db8bz not in London maybe but here in Newcastle you can go to a pretty nice restaurant spending £18ish on a main (standard restaurant main is like £11 here) and £7 for a cocktail which is about £25 a head. Of course you can go more extravagant, but no chance does the average person ever get above £50 a head here unless they're going to the fanciest restaurant they can find, or they get like 4 cocktails with food. So that's still way off $300/£250 for a meal.
@@maxswatchbuilds8129 fair play mate. Yeah I think it depends on what sort of restaurant you're going if in London. Can easily go to a nice restaurant in London have two or three courses get a couple of bottles of wine and spend 80 - 100 quid a head
the term affordable is far too relative haha
Agreed lol
Love these two talking watches. More please.
Even if it's a rock, if it comes in red,
Nobody :
Kevin : That's my favorite rock
Lmao
Would love to talk watches with Mr. Wonderful. Wished this episode was an hour long!
I would love to school 'Mr. Wonderful' on watches. He talks a lot but as a collector, I've forgotten more than he knows.
@@johnandrews3568 Charming.
The Chinese 1963 Sea-Gull watch is amazing. For a few hundreds, it has been running strong on my wrist. Amazing watch!
Just bought one
Having smashed one to bits, I will never spend more than $500 usd because then it's just a vanity purchase.
I am going to be purchasing a Seiko presage to celebrate a milestone in my life, my next milestone will be celebrated with an Accutron.
Grats
@@IFlyIChris Thank you.
Hope you get it soon!
Don't buy a seiko you are better than that . They are disposable!!!!!
@@AnthonyHernandez-qg5qx Thank you and wish you the same.
I love how Kevin was fascinated at the fact a 300$ dollar watch actually worked 😂 as if to say a watch doesn't work unless it's 10 grand or more. 😂😢😅
This is the video we all want. My favorite will still be him ranting about Apple watches
Kevin O’Leary’s best investment to date: collaborating with Teddy :)
Great video! Please do more! Have always loved the El Primero, truly a horological icon.
Great Video but BALTIC was missing for sure!
Didnt expect Kevin to be the one totally ready to look at the sub 1200 dollar range
4:39 The way he puts away a $570 watch is some true respect to watches.

“You got a budget for food” 😂😂
Lol Kevin said in another video he spends 1k a day on food and drink
@@readmycomment3157 which is disgusting, frankly.

If you don’t eat you ☠️
If you don’t buy watch you 😐
@@drippinkicks yes, nobody said to abstain from meals. Just don’t go out and pay a premium and instead spend it on the watch.
Teddy's always glowing, quite literally! Either you have fantastic skin or very rigorous skin care routine
!
What an amazing outcome for a beautiful watch. Always a pleasure to see amzwatch work your magic. Thanks for sharing this transformation with us!
These videos are always fun watching teddy explain watches to Kevin.
“You got a budget for food”- Teddy.
That was my reaction too haha.
Kevin just makes me laugh so much with his little personality quirks, these 2 together are brilliant!
"Affordable", "cheap" and "budget" are too much relative, specially regarding things like watches. That's why i prefer price marks straightaway: "A, B and C between $100 and $200", "D, E and F between $300 and $500" and so on. You pick your limits and see what's there.
There are quite a lot of us "Down the Rabbit Hole". Love that expression. Perfect description for watch collecting.
This is an awesome collaboration. Always fun to watch you two.
I know damn well Kevin doesn’t wear those cheap watches 😂😂 someone correct me if I’m wrong lol
I can't imagine how many Kevin might have to choose from - anyone know how many are in his collection ??
@@andrewgedman1214 He does not disclose how many, and the location of the watches. He had 2 thefts before that stole multiple pieces. One he thinks was an inside job. He did a 3 part collection video with ProducerMichael and he talked about that
That segul is going up in value, last year it was going for $168. People said it would.
None of the places I eat cost 300 bucks. I once took my wedding crew out to eat at Red Lobster and ten people ate for just north of 200 bucks.
Amazing review of the collection that you have there. I like the Accutron the most. Please make more similar reviews like that at a lower price point. Thank you!
"...but what if I told you..." at 6:20 and 8:28
Teddy is basically a used car salesman with better fitting clothes and snappier glasses.
The fuk?
Love Teddy. He really helped kickstart my watch journey
Should of shown the longines hydro conquest, that’s easily the best watch under 1000 dollars on the market
I remember my highschool graduation gift from my Grandpa was a $150 Bulova watch with a black leather band. Really got my interest peaked in watches mostly lower under $200 including g-shock, fossil, bulova, and citizen. I lost them all unfortunately when someone broke into my college dorm and stole way too much stuff from all the students. Fast forward to now I havent really owned a watch other than a smartwatch. Im getting back into the game looking for a good piece. These are all out of my price range but its nice to see these styles and what is out there that I can compare to other cheaper options under $600.
Watches are so delicate and intricately designed, so I have intense respect and admiration for AMZWATCH watch makers
