Gregorian Chant for Easter Sunday - Salve Festa Dies (English + Latin)

This hymn is written by St. Venantius Fortunatus (born 530 AD), Bishop of Poitiers in France, used formerly to be sung during the procession before Easter Sunday Mass.
The opening lines "Salve festa dies" or "hail festival day," are continuously repeated throughout the hymn echoing the embrace that all Christians should have for the great day of the Resurrection.
As St. Paul tells us, if there was no Resurrection then our faith would be futile. For Christ would've made a promise and not held to it. As the world was taken into darkness by the wood of the Tree of Life, so was the wood of the Cross used to bring the world back out of darkness.
