About the chant:
The sixth and last Sunday of Lent and beginning of Holy Week, a Sunday of the highest rank, not even a commemoration of any kind being permitted in the Mass.....The Greeks celebrate the day with great solemnity; they call it kyriake or heorte ton baion or heorte baiophoros or also Lazarus Sunday, because on the day before they have the feast of the resuscitation of Lazarus. The emperors used to distribute branches of palm and small presents among their nobles and domestics. The Latin liturgical books call it Dominica in Palmis, Dominica or Dies Palmarum. From the cry of the people during the procession the day has received the name Dominica Hosanna or simply Hosanna

Sin is defined as a crime or action against a deity. Since we have NO good convincing evidence that gods exist... sin is a victimless crime... arbitrarily set by a religion to control their adherents.

I came here to listen to the music…. And while listening, I read the comments and found the OP above. The OP seems to be judging themselves harshly for what I believe is a silly reason. None of you believers have been able to demonstrate that the gods you worship exist in our reality… therefore, for all intents and purposes, they are mythological creations. I suggested that since they are nonexistent as far as we can tell, the OP should not be beating themselves up for victimless crimes.

I am not ‘dark’… actually, my highschool friends, who were various types of xtians used to say that I was more xtian than themselves, except for the fact I didn’t believe in their godling… so maybe that might give you an idea of my character….??? As to justifying sin… where did you get that idea? I said that sin was a victimless crime… and what acts are defined as sin are arbitrary for the most part. The ones that are actually harmful have secular laws prohibiting them… the ones that are mostly arbitrary are silly, in my opinion..

The Shroud of Turin has been demonstrated to be a fraud.... here is a quick thing for you to consider; look at the distance between the top of the impression of the head on the front image and the one on the back image. If I recall... in measuring this distance, it is about 6"... how flat was your godling, if that space is only 6"? This fabric/shroud was supposed to cover him by being flipped over at the top of the head and brought down to the feet... so the distance between the back image to the front image should be MORE than 6" if we are following what reality shows us...
Hmmm, I thought that it was more swollen shut rather than poked out. I myself am not sure if it is real or not, but just my thoughts. Being beaten with a rod in the right places would cause enough swelling to shut your eye.

I don't despise god, since I do not believe he exist, and I don't deny the existence of gods, but there has been no good convincing evidence that any of the 10,000+ gods mankind has worshipped in our history sufficient enough to warrant belief. That IS the rational position, is it not? To withhold belief until we have enough evidence/proof to base our belief upon... unlike the believer who was raised IN the belief of a particular god (mostly influenced geographically, until recently in our history) so indoctrination/brainwashing...

It is completely rational... the music is lovely... so why not appreciate it? I don't need to believe in your mythology to appreciate the beauty created in homage to said mythology. Just as you can appreciate the beauty say in the Blue Mosque or maybe the ancient temples to ancient gods like the Parthenon or the great pyramid of Giza or the step pyramids of the Incas etc... you don't believe in THOSE gods, but I assume you find some of those structures or artwork beautiful, do you not?
