So, I have taken the oae Professional knowledge prek-12 like 5 different times. I have noticed that the 2 essays are the same. But I guess I'm adding the wrong information every single time. How can I fix this?? One is about ESL students and a teacher who had an outline of things the students had to do. I have to tell what he did right and what he could have tried. And then the other is about inquiry based learning. Or it's about how to incorporate deeper level learning. Aka Blooms taxonomy
@@hopebullard460 hi! When it comes to essays on certification tests it’s all about being clear, concise, to the point & always follow the scoring rubric. This rubric should be on the testing site where you registered for the exam.
In a dying industry that no one is going into, the states are making it impossible to pass these ridiculously hard exams! I’m in FL and teaching for 15 years this may be my last!!!!

Yes, I agree. I’ve been teaching in Florida for 15 years and because of Covid and not renewing my certification. I have to take all four tests over again. This is why all season teachers are leaving the profession they don’t support the teachers who have given their lives teaching students I was high impact teacher, two years in a row 2016 and 17 out of only 200 teachers in the whole state and I’m still having to retake the exam. This is insane.

I have such a story to tell. I have taken the exams about 100 times and only passed 2 of them. I have walked away from even trying to take them, I am pushed to take the exams after watching your video. This makes a lot of sense. Thanks again.
THANK YOU... THANK YOU, I am great at math but have horrible test anxiety. Even to the point I switched my degree plan because I thought I wasn't going to succeed..I want to get my alternative certification to teach math. yes that's me!!! I bought a study guide for the math 5-9 study guide, memorized it and knew it cold! I failed the test 3 times and was so panicked over losing my job. I finally passed it the 4th time. I have extreme test anxiety.. So I'm hoping taking this course will help me pass the math 6-12 the first time.

I’m determined to pass it the first time so I’m doing practice problems on Khan academy after I finish each of your modules. Oh and Amy Sink is awesome and so funny!!! Love her!

First of all, I purchased the limited study resources online, which were costly monthly, and they did not work. In fact, none of the content was on the test! Go figure! Imagine my frustration and willingness to proceed, questioning myself, is this profession for me??!! So I regrouped and found your video helpful. Hi and thanks. While is true some study guides are just that.. A guide.. there is one book that i can say it helped me to pass because it has at least 90 questions (exactly) like the actual test.... So.. I have to give credit to this company for that. The test was the ESE k-12.....

While I’m happy you passed, we obviously can’t support a resource like that. Yes...we are aware that some companies do unethical things to make money. It’s unfortunate they get away with it. These exams were the reason why I gave up on my teaching career-the worst decision of my life. After the intense pressure of studying for the TExES core EC-6 and PPR, I was given little time and massive information thrown at me that caused me to fail my PPR and CORE exams. I was never good at studying since I have always relied on my great memorization skills and always managed to pass with minimal effort. Ignorant as I was, I thought this was a memorization game as all my exams were in the past. As you mentioned in your other video. These exams are anything BUT memorization. I wish I would have found this video a year ago. Now I hold a useless bachelor's degree and go through a different teaching program, splurging on more money just to be allowed to retake my exams.

I live in PA, and I am studying for the Pect Module 2 of my teaching cert. So far, I have written down all my competency that will be on the test. Next, I'm going to take the practice test then focus on the questions I got wrong. I'm going to find what competency the questions I got wrong falls in and write the meaning and examples of the competency. Then what should I do? Keep finding different examples of the competency I got wrong? After i feel ready i will schedule my test. I already have my Masters in education but i need my cert to work as a teacher.

I can't seem to pass my content test. I have spent the past 8 months studying and preparing and have failed it 3 times by only 10 points each time. I even had my dr. prescribe me anxiety meds to take during the test the past time. I believe I only have one more chance to take it.
Hello again.... To add to my previous comment, while strategies are excellent, I that the test has probably 30% that is knowledge based not strategy based. I think this percentage of questions should be taken under consideration when providing webinars and any kind of help. There are questions that one can not be guessing at. either is right or is wrong...The blueprint of the test may help but again that 30% can be the deciding factor for many....It was for me.... did not pass because I didn't know some of the answers and I know that is on my shoulders.... Thanks...
Hi Sally! Thanks for the feedback. We never state 100% is strategy. It’s a 80/20 split. 20% content. Of course it’s important to cover content. We do that in our webinars and detailed video courses on our site.

I'm following but I think I'm confused. We have domains with competencies on mine (TX). Ex: Domain II is US History and under it is competency 008: US as a world power. Sounds like a same difference thing to me but I'm not sure.

I'm a business major, my BAS is in supervision and management. My daughter's school is so short staffed so I decided to get my temporary teacher certification and will have to take the exam. After the intense pressure of studying for the TExES core EC-6 and PPR, I was given little time and massive information thrown at me that caused me to fail my PPR and CORE exams. I was never good at studying since I have always relied on my great memorization skills and always managed to pass with minimal effort. Ignorant as I was, I thought this was a memorization game as all my exams were in the past. As you mentioned in your other video. These exams are anything BUT memorization. I wish I would have found this video a year ago. Now I hold a useless bachelor's degree and go through a different teaching program, splurging on more money just to be allowed to retake my exams.

I live in PA, and I am studying for the Pect Module 2 of my teaching cert. So far, I have written down all my competency that will be on the test. Next, I'm going to take the practice test then focus on the questions I got wrong. I'm going to find what competency the questions I got wrong falls in and write the meaning and examples of the competency. Then what should I do? Keep finding different examples of the competency I got wrong? After i feel ready i will schedule my test. I already have my Masters in education but i need my cert to work as a teacher.

I can't seem to pass my content test. I have spent the past 8 months studying and preparing and have failed it 3 times by only 10 points each time. I even had my dr. prescribe me anxiety meds to take during the test the past time. I believe I only have one more chance to take it.

Hello again.... To add to my previous comment, while strategies are excellent, I that the test has probably 30% that is knowledge based not strategy based. I think this percentage of questions should be taken under consideration when providing webinars and any kind of help. There are questions that one can not be guessing at. either is right or is wrong...The blueprint of the test may help but again that 30% can be the deciding factor for many....It was for me.... did not pass because I didn't know some of the answers and I know that is on my shoulders.... Thanks...
Hi Sally! Thanks for the feedback. We never state 100% is strategy. It’s a 80/20 split. 20% content. Of course it’s important to cover content. We do that in our webinars and detailed video courses on our site.
Why didn't you think you had to know anything to pass the exam? If you give a test to the students in your class, do you expect them to know the information that is covered on the exam?

I'm following but I think I'm confused. We have domains with competencies on mine (TX). Ex: Domain II is US History and under it is competency 008: US as a world power. Sounds like a same difference thing to me but I'm not sure.
Same thing. TExES just uses different terminology. It's all the same.

I'm a business major, my BAS is in supervision and management. My daughter's school is so short staffed so I decided to get my temporary teacher certification and will have to take the exam.
