7 Steps to Teacher Certification Success Series
The Learning Liaisons
The teacher certification exam can be one of the most stressful speed bumps in our journey as professional educators. Lucky for you, we have the knowledge and experience to guide you to success and get you into the classroom.
Over seven videos, Dr. A (Jason Ampel, CEO and founder of The Learning Liaisons) outlines his proven seven-step process to teacher certification success. In this fifth video, Dr. A dives into Study Guides and Test Prep Guides.
Who makes these? Why are they nothing like the actual tests? They are not not an exact representation of the test. Companies like ETS (Praxis) and Pearson (FTCE) create the tests. It is you vs. the test company. You must test smart not hard. Use Study Companions (Praxis) and Test Blueprints (FTCE). Study the Material - Competencies, Skills, Content. Use Supplemental Resources. Be mindful when the particular guide you using was published. Use these tips to aid in 1st attempt success.

Thanks for watching Step 5 - Study Guides. What is your experience with study guides, test prep guides, practice exams/quizzes/questions, etc.? Leave us a comment, suggestion, concern, thought, etc. #whenYouPass
Hi. I have experienced these exact issues. I hate having to justify to my family why I didn't pass. I've only got one more chance to pass before I can't certify at all.
Thank you for watching, Edith. If you have questions or need help with your teacher certification, please email us: info@thelearningliaisons.com. Or call/text us @ 407-797-1499. Have a great rest of your day!

So what I understand you saying is that these state exams are games! Like Chess? Plus all those companies that sell these “Pass the Exams” don’t work!! So the state and the companies are selling these books and gaining money!!!!This ordeal is devastating to us! The state not only plays games with your soul, steals your money but plays with your mind!! Look I know life isn’t fair but come on .....Some of us went through hell, had two jobs, raised two kids;
I went through 4 years of college and got my Bachelors degree.....for what?
Hi Julia! I refer to the exams as a performance. It’s not a game by the states. Think of the definition of a performance. Showcasing skills. All states have a series of exams for teachers to pass. All professions have exams as well. It’s all about your mindset and how you prep smart. We beat ourselves sometimes on these exams. We’ve been through these exams as well. We understand the frustrations and confusion. We are always here to help.
The Learning Liaisons, Inc. Thank you Dr., so obviously if I haven’t passed the exam is because my performance is not “State’s expectations”. Meaning to me that I will be Unable to apply knowledge to scenarios given on the exam and that my poor judgement and common sense will always make My performance poor! My mental Capacity does not understand this, when all I do is study! I am like a hamster going around and around studying different books but oh well what else to do! Thank you, Dr. for your advice and everything you do for us! God bless🙏
@@juliadelagarza8011 it's not about how much you study, BUT what you study and if it's targeted at what you need to do to pass. What test are you prepping for?

I purchased Cirrus FTCE PK-3 it says "Copyright @2020" and back page says it "made in Coppell TX March 05, 2021" not sure if that just means it was printed that day or if it's super up to date? Either way what I'm hearing from Step #5 is it's just a supplement - I'm watching Kahn videos and using IXL and all kinds of resources in order to really get a good understanding of the competencies within the Sub Tests
You are doing ALL the things, that is excellent. I would not get too hung up on the copyright vs "made in" date, the content is most likely still the 2020 version but they could have changed a cover or it is an inventory issue...or a typo.
Cindy, how did you do on the P-3rd test? Did you pass? I now need to take this particular test, so can you share all that you used to help you & if your study guide helped?
@@tball7496 hello yes, I passed all the subtests on the first try. Learning Liaisons helped a great deal, I made flashcards out of index cards to study. I highly recommend the videos that pertain to PREK-3rd, especially Dr. A's strategy video.
