Twice convicted and twice acquitted by Italian courts of the brutal killing of her British roommate Meredith Kercher, Amanda Knox became the subject of global speculation as non-stop media attention fed the public's fascination through every twist and turn of the nearly decade-long case.
In a world that remains strongly divided on the legal findings, Amanda Knox goes beyond guilt or innocence to shed new light on the events and circumstances of the past nine years. Featuring unprecedented access to the key people involved and never-before-seen archival material, the film shifts between past to present, exploring the case from the inside out in exclusive interviews with Amanda Knox, her former co-defendant and ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, Italian prosecutor Giuliano Mignini and Daily Mail reporter Nick Pisa.

I just finished watching this documentary and honestly I don't know what to believe. Because everyone story keeps changing. Oh and the reporter he's definitely an asshole doesn't lack no empathy just cares about his story getting out first. The media definitely played a terrible role in all of this. And for the victim I hope her family finds peace.

The victim's family is just as bad, ever notice anytime there is a murder the victims family want whoever the cops name to go to jail? Cops could have told the mother that the man on the moon did it and she would be asking NASA to go get him to stand trial.

Unless the leader of country/president was like mine. President in my country is like peasants-soul so, not even dare to ask "please listen to us", let alone think to save any victims & guiltys of our people in overseas.

What frustrates me in cases like this is that people focus too much on the personas of the defendants and their behaviours, instead of focusing on witness statements, and evidence. And when this happens, it's really hard to figure out the truth, due to invasion of the media and other biased sources. Without the truth, justice can't be served to Meredith and her family, the people who deserve it in this case.

The only evidence they had pointed to the black guy who was found guilty, this girl might be weird, but it was the media and a really primitive stupid cop who got her in this mess. From day ONE he said she was guilty because she wasn't crying about a girl she barely knew was dead.

Half way through... My feeling is that the detective with the pipe that he thinks he is Sherlock Holmes is the one that messed the whole investigation. His arrogance is very dangerous and makes him build theories in his mind that blind him and distract from the facts. Also, when he talks about Meredith's morals vs Knox's morals ... he seems like he is completely out of touch with today's reality on how young people (especially from from UK/USA) think & live these days. He so reminds me of the other small town detective that found himself in the middle of an international case with so much media attention: the detective from the Madeleine McCann case. These people so arrogant on one hand, with mediocre skills & knowledge, with their own obsessions and on the other hand they cannot cope with the media pressure to solve a case...

In college, our sociology professor had large manilla envelopes placed at every seat students sat at, the week before we were learning of serial killers and the impact in society, as we went to our seats, and faced the large envelope, the professor stated, "look at what a serial killer looks like", and told us to open the envelopes and remove its contents...each envelope held within it, a mirror. Does, anyone really think her choice of phrasing, "either I'm a psycopath in sheep's clothing, or. I. Am. You." was a good one, considering murderers don't look like monsters, they look like you or me.

Because I'm not the obvious one. But on the other hand, if I'm innocent, it means that everyone's vulnerable. And that's everyone's nightmare. I saw the documentary. The cop is scary. He came across as arrogant and his opinion is always right. His eyes are hard to describe but if they are the windows to his soul, I would never want to meet him.
Research as shown that even innocent people will confess if they are "interviewed" for hours by cops. Eventually a person can become so confused from sleep deprivation and hunger that they can even start to have false memories.
Whatever Knox's part, if any, in the murder, once the lead investigator decided she was guilty, it wouldn't have mattered who her alibi was. He thought she was a slut because she wasn't a virgin and so she had to be guilty even though at least two other people said she wasn't. After being "interviewed" for hours they all said they were confused. Getting head smacks and being told to remember over and over and being led to who was really involved is not how an "interview" is supposed to work.
Rudy, one of the one's convicted emailed a friend and told him he had been there when Meridith had been murdered. He said he was in the bathroom and heard her scream. Then he saw a man run out. Rudy went to her and saw her throat cut and got blood all over him. He wrote to his friend that Knox wasn't there. He said he was afraid he would be blamed and ran. After spending a long time being "interviewed" he also changed his story.
Sure they could have decided to come clean but at some point they all recanted and talked about the interview tactics. Knox's boyfriend at the time also said that the cops called Knox a slut and other things to him.
Of course the cops also put out that it was a sex game and Knox was a sexual deviant. Of course the media ate it up. One of the media who was interviewed, Nick didn't seem to care what was true or not, only that he was thrilled to have his name out there. He actually said it was like a sexual buzz.
With how the case was conducted, you cannot trust if the cops really found out what really happened or if they decided the "truth" and went from there.

Anyway, it's not looking too great for the family. Meredith's dad John Kercher died a few months ago after injuries caused by a supposed hit and run which is a little bonkers it happened. You can Google that. Also the mother Arline has now got Dementia, along with serious lung problems from smoking so much, she'll be dead soon as well I think. Meredith's sister Stephanie is going to be moving back into the house I heard from my friend, who spoke to her a couple weeks ago when she came into the shop he works at. Maybe I should try to talk to her If I see her, or maybe not. I mean what do you say?

Ok so it wasn't just me....this "documentary" was horrible. It just jumped around without explaining anything really. They went from the couple was watching a movie to they were playing a sex game, with no background or why that speculation was brought up. The boyfriend turned on her, but then they were fine and we didn't even get an explanation as to what happened. Full of holes and not enough detail given. Seems like a rushed job just to make a show. I'm sure there are Dateline episodes that give a better look into this story.

I'm British so i'm probably biased because of the coverage of this case in my country. I don't know if she did murder or was implicit with it, but the fact the her story kept changing leads me to believe that something happenend which she didn't want people to know about. The problem with programs like this is it sensationalises her story, and causes a polarisation of people who think she's Guilty or Innocent. From what I remember of the case is that evidence was mis-handled and a number of testimonies changed, leading to an even more convoluted case. At the end of the day she served four years before being acquitted by the Italian Supreme court.

    • @nancyparker1044
      @nancyparker1044 7 ปีที่แล้ว +15

One of the problems with this case was the laws the Prosecutions side broke to secure a conviction. They were legally mandated to record the interrogations yet didn't record any interrogation or interview in a murder case. Her accusation of Lumumba came about during the last interrogation and we can't be sure why it came about without listening to the interrogation but it was also against Italian law to use information garnered during unrecoded interrogations against her but yet they did. Also we know that during the Hellman appeal, the forensic specialists, Stefanoni got caught in a lie regarding her testing of bloody footprints, we also know when Knox asked about an attorney she was told it would be against her best interests, that was a violation of her civil rights, another violation was to give her a hostile interpreter that sided with the police instead on a neutral one. The police also managed to fry 3 computer hard drives in their possession which makes me wonder what THEY were trying to hide, the court also refused the defenses request to send these fried hard drives to the manufacturers to see if the information on them could be retrieved so this was not a fair/impartial trial, not by a long shot.

    • @lesgrossman1274
      @lesgrossman1274 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Police are not required to record interviews with witnesses or persons
of interests. They have to with suspects though. And they did that with paper and pencils. Recordings do NOT have to be tape recordings. Police asked Knox if she wanted an attorney, Knox refused and very naively went on to incriminate herself. Curatolo was a solid witness who helped to convict Knox and Sollecito in the initial trial. His testimony in the Hellman was voided along with the entire Hellman court proceedings. Dr. Stafanoni was never charged with perjury. Dr. Mignini never leaked any information to the press that was done by the defense team Dalla Vedova and Ghirga. It was Conti and Vechotti who lied and the police recovered the computer hard drives that Sollecito had previously destroyed. This case was run by the book except for the final illegal acquittal. Extradition would have been a slam dunk and done in six months or less with Sollecito in prison.
Yes or no - was Rudy Guede's trial "not a fair/impartial trial"? His trial was part of the case. Please answer with a simple "yes" or
      "no" or STFU.

Gav McDonald The prosecution and the police in Italy is way worse than the police over in the United States. I mean any officer that engages in intimidation and forced confessions is very much. And majority of the evidence is found on items. I can find my finger prints and evidence on a kitchen knife and some burglar can use that same knife kill my roommate. It doesn’t mean I’m the killer it means I used that knife the same day my roommate was murdered. And then you have the prosecution being so certain with assumptions that they missed the compelling person. A person convicted of assault, several priors is more likely to be the killer.

Okay, so I'm watching this documentary right now about 30 mins (to give some context). I just have to say, the detective guy who is going through his line of thinking that first couple of days after the murder...he has outrageously horrible investigative intuition and practically has tunnel vision almost immediately when he arrived. Like, his assumptions and "intuition" is just so....bad. For example, states "only women cover up the body", what?! Then when Amanda is having a breakdown about what had happened to her roommate and the fact it very well could have been her killed, he says she is obviously freaking out because "SHE IS HEARING THE SCREAM OF THE VICTIM IN HER HEAD" (paraphrase). WTF!? He should be embarrassed stating that so confidently. So frustrating, and I know it gets worse from there. In order to believe that Knox and Sollecito are innocent, you have to overlook the following:
Knox's accusation against her employer, a claim she made after less than TWO HOURS of being interviewed (not 40, like Team Knox would have you believe - this is a proven fact) and stuck to for 3 weeks, letting her innocent boss rot in jail all the while.
The fact that Meredith Kercher’s blood was found mixed inside Knox’s fresh DNA in 5 different spots in the bathroom.
The fact the Knox was bleeding on the day of the murder, and left blood smeared in the bathroom, blood which she herself admits was not there the day before.
Sollecito’s DNA on Meredith’s bra clasp - with a 16 loci match, the probability that the DNA belongs to someone else is one in a trillion, and with only ONE other DNA trace of him in the cottage (cigarette butt) the idea of contamination is near impossible.
Knox’s DNA on the handle of the murder weapon and Meredith’s on the blade. Sollectio tried to explain this by saying he had accidentally pricked Meredith with his knife while she had been at his house. She had never been there.
The THREE sets of bloody footprints, one a match for Guede, one a match for Sollecito, and one in Knox’s size, in her own DNA, mixed with Meredith’s.
The single bloody footprint on the bathmat, which is a perfect match for Sollecito, and also, being the only bloody footprint with no others around it, is undisputed proof a clean up happened.
The blatantly staged crime scene, with glass on TOP of the clothes strewn around, a near impossible window entry point, and not a single trace of Guede anywhere in that room, not to mention the fact Knox and Sollecito ‘knew’ nothing had been taken before anyone had even looked.
The fact that Guede’s footprints lead right out Meredith’s room out the front door and he has an alibi for the rest of the night, meaning we KNOW it wasn’t Guede who returned to the scene hours later, staged a burglary, cleaned up and moved the body.
The fact that Knox’s lamp was found in Meredith’s room with no fingerprints whatsoever - more proof of a clean up.
The incredible amount of changes in her account before, during, and after she was arrested.
Total lack of alibi after multiple attempts, and then Sollecito withdrawing his alibi for her.
Her dubious account of her activity the morning after the murder, including her lies about Meredith’s locked door, her reaction to the blood, and the contradictions to this she makes in her testimony, email home, and in her book.
The fact Knox knew several details about her murder she could not possibly have known: cause of death, position of body, that there had been more than one attacker, that Meredith had been assaulted etc.
The frantic call she made to her mother in the middle of the night that she ‘forgets’ making.
The witness who saw her and Sollecito by the cottage on the murder night.
The shopkeeper who saw her when she claimed to be in her bed sleeping.
Her overall behaviour after the murder.
And I can go on, and on, and on. My point is that, whatever opinion people have as to their guilty or innocence, there is enough evidence to convict, and however many times those claims of “no evidence" are repeated, it doesn't make it true.

And why Knox freaked out when detective & team only ask her "do you notice if any of knife here missing?".
Also how can she told one other dorm mate about Meredith Suffering? Like the details in Meredith's neck??
Knox is definitely the Director here. In my personal opinion, it could be that she have mental illness that got worse with alcohol & drugs she consumed even that night. That mental illness that said someone have unstable emotions & will fired up when they see people they dislike & in a lot of denials for what happened in her life & what they did.
Not to mention she also have higher sexual desires that it could be true about four-ways-sex-game. Look how she even have boyfriend that they style is so Harry Potter that book/movie she love so much.
She said she never fight or have arguments with Meredith but their dormmates said they had arguments few times that lead to cold fight.
I hate how Solecito & Knox free after 4 years.
The media overseas & America's government really tried to save her & success, just for the sake of prestige, international relations, politics. I mean yeah it's not unusual in any country unless the leader/president have peasants-soul like president in my country, that won't even try to save the real victims of our people in any country, let alone those who guilty.

@Alex Glasson - I’ve read hundreds of comments on this case; and they always fall into one of 3 groups:
      1. “I think she’s guilty.”
      2. “I think she’s innocent.”
      3. “I think she knows more than she’s telling.”
Whether she’s guilty or innocent, Amanda is right about one thing: there’s no middle ground. The third statement - “she knows something” - just seems like a cop-out. What exactly do you think she doesn’t know? What exactly do you think she isn’t telling? If she wasn’t at Raffaele’s apartment, then where was she? At the house? Outside the house? Was she a witness? An accomplice? Is she covering for somebody?
You can’t just say “she knows more” and then leave it at that.

I'm betting if you watch another documentary, you'll get all the evidence you want. This is like Making a Murderer. It's obvious who did it, but you can create a compelling "documentary" leaving out all the damning evidence to make it appear however you want.

If she were innocent then why was she not in fear for her own life? A psycho killer was on the loose. A normal reaction would be to get the hell out of Perugia, yet she isn't concerned and doesn't leave. In fact, she asks the other roomate if the living arrangements were going to be the same "after this is over."

She was naïve enough to think she was in a position to help the police, she didn't think she had anything to worry about...at least as far as being a suspect in this murder but she was afraid to be alone, the police gave her a hard time for being at the police department with Sollecito when he'd been summoned but she was there because as far as she knew there was a killer on the loose and she was afraid to be left at Sollecitos apartment alone.

This is the problem with this generation. Everyone is ready to call someone guilty without giving them a fair trial. You are always innocent until proven guilty. She went through a trial and was found innocent. There wasn't enough evidence to say she did it. The real crime here is how incompetent the Italian police was throughout the whole investigation. At the end of the day is there something kinda off with Amanda? I think most people would say yes but that still doesn't mean she did it.

I totally agree with you. I think that's why this case is so interesting. People hating on her and blaming her just shows how people react emotionally instead of rationally, I believe you could not convince these people that she's not guilty. At the end, I believed she didn't do it, because of all the evidence, but I must admit I feel she is not that innocent, or at least that she's not telling something. I am not able to give you a straight answer because of how horrible the investigation went. At the end, they let her free so it means she's innocent, so nothing left to do.

The body was found covered with a blanket... In most cases, bodies are covered by the murderer because the victim was in close association with him/her. The murderer out of guilt and due to the shared bond of relation cannot bear to witness the dead body so he/she covers it up. Similarly, if the murderer is close to the victim, they would also use the pillow to asphyxiate the victim because they can't watch them die due to the guilt.
In this case too I'm sure the victim knew the killer.. and that it wasn't done by a random stranger/burglar.

      “Two Wolves”: A Cherokee Legend
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, "The other is good - his is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too.” The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?” The old Cherokee simply replied, “THE ONE YOU FEED.”

It's so sad a girl died, but keep in mind: Amanda was 20, she just fell in love for a week and was giddy and her Roomate; Meredith, she only knew a few weeks. This was not just the murder of one girl, but two in a way and a young innocent man. The press, the police, the public, tortured and crushed the soul of an innocent girl and boy because the police had it in for them and so did the press but there was NO evidence or even motive for them to murder her yet the real killer had all the motive and evidence. Very weird story. Reminds me of the witch trials and the very ignorant and hypocritical Christians doing monstrous things through superstition of female sexuality and Independence. DonT people understand that what they did to Amanda and her boyfriend was also a grave offense to Meredith? Her actual killer got less time due to that back woods, torch and pitch fork trial. Shame in humans. All who took part in that will have lifetimes of karma to pay off for every second those two kids spent rotting in an Italian prison.

I think they both panicked and said shit because they were interrogated separately and they didnt know what the other told the police.. they got cold feet and tried to save their asses so they told different stories and changed it to favor them after they found out there were weak evidences against them. Here's what was sad about this entire story and what is still sad to this day. First, this girl is obviously not guilty in any way. Sadly the cops painted a negative picture of her which sat in the media for years and now people feel kinda iffy about her. Second, people almost forgot about Meredith and what she must've gone through, and working to find her killer. Third, they always tried to paint Amanda as some strange sex freak who did real out there acts.
In reality, and I'm sorry to say this - Most girls experiment with freaky type sex stuff. Even the most normal seeming girls and freaks and try some real out there stuff. I'm in my 40's and have had my share of the most beautiful girlfriends, really sweet and normal girls. Then I started having sex, really having sex - not just those first few years where we are trying to figure out what sex is, but really having sex and discovering what I liked. 80% of the girls I dated, including my ex-wife were into some real wild stuff, at least what society would see as wild. In reality, what people do in their bedrooms is between them and it shouldn't be judged. I can remember being in my early 20's, being at my girlfriends place, and finding with her a huge stash of really freaky porn in her father and mothers closet. We threw it on and even for us it was a little too much. I always thought her dad and mom were so "normal", and after that I was so shy around her mom because I knew what she watched.
Later as I got into my 30's I really began experimenting with sex. I dated girls who wanted to be smacked, choked, spanked, cuffed, and boy oh boy the outfits these girls enjoyed wearing. Even my ex-wife dug this stuff. So if fathers really knew what their daughters were into, they wouldn't be so quick to judge. If mothers looked at their own lives and remembered all the freaky stuff they probably did, they wouldn't be so quick to judge.
Amanda is innocent, and I feel the authorities painted a really messed up picture of her. When in reality it wasn't all that strange at all. Just another girl, who sadly got caught up in the something she had nothing to do with. That bald investigator was and is the worst, that guy is a complete retard and a dumbass. Listening to him talk is so frustrating, the man sounds like he's living some murder mystery movie, a corny one. It was because of this man that all this happened. What an idiot.
Rest in Peace Meredith and peace to her family.

    PART 1 OF 3:
On the day after her murder, Meredith Kercher’s blood was found in
many places in her bedroom and on a bare right-foot print on the
bathroom floor mat. But no footprints were found in the 10-foot-plus
stretch between those two bloody locations - all hard-surface floors in
the bedroom, hallway and bathroom. In addition, after she died,
Meredith’s bra had been cut off, and her body had been moved and
repositioned - to make it appear she’d been raped, the police
speculated. Finally, her body had been covered with a comforter. No one
knew why, though various theories were offered.
This is undisputed. Although the prosecution’s “staged rape” theory
was speculation, the defense, far from challenging it, took it a step
further, arguing that Meredith indeed had been raped and then killed by
Rudy Guede, acting alone. Guede’s DNA was found in several places in
Meredith’s bedroom, including inside her body. Amanda and Raffaele could
not have been there, the defense insisted, since none of their DNA was
found in Meredith’s bedroom (other than Raffaele’s DNA found on
Meredith’s bra clasp - more on that below).
Granted, Meredith’s bedroom was right next to the bathroom. But it
would have required at least a 10-foot leap, with a 90-degree turn near
the end, to reach the bloody bath mat from the bloody areas of
Meredith’s bedroom without touching down somewhere in between. And
whoever made that 10-foot leap-and-turn obviously didn’t mind leaving a
bloody footprint on the bath mat when he landed. It doesn’t matter here
whose bloody footprint was on the bath mat. The blood in both Meredith’s
bedroom and on the bath mat indisputably was Meredith’s. That’s all
that matters here. What accounted for the blood-free 10-foot gap?
    A 10-foot leap-and-turn? Or perhaps the person had a blood-free left
foot, on which he hopped to the bathroom so his bloody right foot
wouldn’t leave any footprint along the way. When he got there, despite
his careful effort to avoid leaving a bloody footprint, he stepped on
the bath mat with his bloody right foot. One can imagine other
possibilities, but only one stands out as plausible: More bloody
footprints were made on the hard-surface floors between the two bloody
locations, but those footprints were cleaned up.
In other words, there was no 10-foot leap-and-turn, no
blood-free-left-foot hopper who inexplicably changed his mind upon
arrival and left a bloody right footprint. Originally there was blood in
Meredith’s bedroom, a bloody footprint on the bath-mat, and bloody
footprints on the hard-surface floors in between. Those bloody
footprints were cleaned up. The bloody stain on the bath-mat was more
    stubborn and could
only be diluted (just as Raffaele later described it).
Whoever cleaned up the bloody footprints may also have moved and
covered Meredith’s body - or at least knows who did. The question is
obvious: Who did these things, and why would that person take such a
    risk?
If you came home to find a bloody murder had been committed there,
would you say: “I don’t think I’ll call the police just yet. First I’ll
clean up this bloody mess, reposition the victim’s body and make some
other changes so it appears she was raped, and then cover her up. Sure,
the police may find out about the murder from someone else, in which
case they might show up and be suspicious because I’m destroying and
altering evidence of a murder that I’ll claim to know nothing about. But
that’s a risk I’m willing to take. I just can’t stand to leave such a
mess, or to leave a dead body lying in that particular position -
    uncovered, no less.”
Utterly implausible? I think so. Yet it’s all but certain
that such a clean-up and body-repositioning occurred. So, again, the
questions are: Who did these things, and why would that person take such
    a risk?
Then there’s the “burglary” in Filomena’s bedroom. Both courts that convicted Amanda concluded she had staged it,
and Rudy Guede was not even charged. Amanda nevertheless insisted a
burglary actually happened and that Guede was the burglar. That is how
Guede had gotten into the house, Amanda claimed, though sometimes she
speculated instead that Meredith had invited him in (an alternate
explanation that naturally makes one wonder who the “burglar” was).
In any event, the “burglar” was not convincing. He allegedly threw a
10-pound rock through a window 13 feet above the ground (which Meredith
apparently didn’t hear), scaled a 13-foot wall in plain view from the
street, climbed through the broken window without disturbing any of the
broken glass spread across the windowsill, threw clothes out of
Filomena’s closet onto her bed but then decided not to take anything
(including jewelry, a digital camera, and a laptop in plain sight), went
to Meredith’s room and raped and killed her, and then ran out the front
door, tracking Meredith’s blood along the way. Broken window glass was
found on top of items thrown onto Filomena’s bed - on top - suggesting
her window had been broken after her room was ransacked, not before. The
“burglar” left no DNA, fingerprint, footprint, mud, grass stain, or any
other trace in Filomena’s bedroom, on the windowsill, on the outside
wall, or on the ground below. No one’s DNA was found in Filomena’s
bedroom - not even Filomena’s - except for Amanda’s DNA, mixed with
    Meredith’s blood.
Once again: Who carried out this real or staged burglary, and why?
END OF PART 1 OF 3

    • @lesgrossman1274
      @lesgrossman1274 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      PART 2 OF 3:
There is evidence of a great deal more than just a clean-up and body-repositioning. Just a few examples:
      1. Despite the clean-up, Amanda’s DNA, mixed with Meredith’s blood,
was found in five different spots in three different locations
(bathroom, hallway, Filomena’s bedroom). Some was visible to the n@ked
eye; some was revealed by Luminol.
      2. Raffaele’s DNA was found on Meredith’s bra clasp. Although this is
undisputed, defense lawyers blamed it on “contamination” (the bra clasp
had lain on the floor of Meredith’s sealed-off bedroom until six weeks
after the murder). But even if the evidence-collectors had sneezed on
the bra clasp, and 47 different men had touched it that night, and it
had been trampled by 1,000 wild horses and chewed by 98 rabid dogs in
the six weeks before it was collected, no amount of contamination could
have caused Raffaele’s DNA to materialize on Meredith’s bra clasp. Most
Knox supporters nevertheless rely on this “contamination” argument to
insist that no DNA of Amanda or Raffaele was found in Meredith’s
      bedroom.
      3. The prosecution also argued (and the courts that convicted Amanda
and Raffaele agreed) that the bloody bath-mat footprint was “consistent”
with Raffaele’s footprint (though it may not have been his), and could
not have been Guede’s or Amanda’s. The defense disagreed: it was
Guede’s, they said. It seems that Guede’s right shoe (but not his left
shoe) had come off during his scuffle with Meredith. Guede postponed his
escape to wash off his right foot, which was covered with blood even
though it managed to leave no footprint until Guede reached the bath
      mat.
For one reason or another, Guede chose not to wash off his bloody
left shoe, which seems to have had a mind of its own. It left no
shoeprints in the bathroom while Guede was washing his right foot,
choosing instead to leave an unbroken string of bloody shoeprints in a
direct line from Meredith’s bedroom to the front door. Guede’s bloody
left shoe did pause once, however - just after leaving Meredith’s room,
so that Guede could lock Meredith’s door from the outside. He must have
done this by reaching behind his back with Meredith’s stolen room key,
since Guede’s bloody shoeprints all point toward the front door,
indicating he never turned around to face Meredith’s door after he’d
left her room. The prosecution argued, more plausibly, that it wasn’t
Guede who locked Meredith’s door - after all, he was careless enough to
leave the front door wide open. Instead, Amanda or Raffaele had locked
Meredith’s door after the murder, enabling them later to explain why
they hadn’t discovered Meredith’s body sooner.
      4. Amanda’s fingerprint-free bedside lamp was found on the floor at
the foot of Meredith’s bed. Knox supporters say Meredith must have
borrowed it without asking (Amanda said that Meredith had never asked to
borrow it). Skeptics suggest the lamp was brought in to help illuminate
spots to be cleaned, and was inadvertently left there when the clean-up
was finished. All we know for sure is that Meredith’s room ended up
with extra lighting that November evening, while Amanda’s bedroom was
left with no light at all (Amanda’s room had no ceiling light - only her
      bedside lamp).
      5. Amanda’s “morning after” story raises eyebrows. She testified that
she came home that morning (November 2) to find her front door wide
open and blood in the bathroom that hadn’t been there before. She called
out to her roommates, but no one answered. She thereupon closed the
front door but knowingly left it unlocked, and took a shower. When she
finished, she realized she’d left her towel in her bedroom. She used the
bath mat - on which she’d just noticed a bloody footprint - to “hop,”
dripping wet and naked, back to her room to get her towel. Rather than
dry off in her room, she “hopped” back to the bathroom, still wet and
n@ked, on the same blood-stained bath mat, and dried off there. After
returning to her bedroom, now dry but still naked, Amanda dressed, and
then blow-dried her hair in the other bathroom. There she noticed an
unflushed toilet (which she left unflushed) containing what turned out
to be Rudy Guede’s f3ces. Though Amanda said all of this puzzled and
worried her, she didn’t notice that Meredith’s door was locked, and she
walked right past Filomena’s bedroom - at least four times - without
looking in and discovering the “burglary.” Filomena’s door was closed,
Amanda said, and she didn’t try to open it. Yet Raffaele said that when
he and Amanda returned to the cottage about an hour and a half later,
after breakfast, Filomena’s door was “wide open” when they walked in,
and he immediately noticed the “burglary.” Neither Raffaele nor Amanda
claimed to have wondered who had opened Filomena’s door in the meantime.
Even worse, recently Amanda made yet another change to her story:
      Court testimony - June 12 2009
Amanda: “I used the mat to kind of hop over to my room and into my room,
I took my towel, and I used the mat to get back to the bathroom.”
      Amanda Knox Blog:
      Amanda says:
      FEBRUARY 28, 2014 AT 15:15
      2) “I took a shower and used the bathmat to shuffle a bit into the hall,
only to abandon that procedure part-way through because it wasn’t
      accomplishing much.”

      PART 3 OF 3:
      6. Amanda’s other stories were no less suspicious. The day after the
murder, she told the police she’d spent the entire evening and night at
Raffaele’s apartment and had no idea who had killed Meredith. A few days
later (under severe pressure, she insists), she told the police she’d
been home after all, had invited Patrick Lumumba in, and that Lumumba
had killed Meredith. The next day, in an entirely voluntary statement
she wrote with no one else present, Amanda said she was pretty sure
she’d been at Raffaele’s after all but nonetheless stood by her
recollection that Lumumba had killed Meredith. A few days later, Amanda
still remembered having been at Raffaele’s apartment, but now she was
certain that Lumumba had nothing to do with the murder. (How Amanda
could know anything about Lumumba’s guilt or innocence was unclear, of
course, once she’d returned to her claim that she’d been at Raffaele’s
apartment the whole time.) Unfortunately for
Lumumba, Amanda only told her mother this. Both Amanda and her mother
neglected to mention it to the authorities, even though Amanda said they
knew there was no evidence against Lumumba except Amanda’s accusation.
Lumumba languished in jail for over two weeks until he came up with an
airtight alibi. After Lumumba was released, Amanda said she felt
terrible that the police had wrongly arrested him.
      ********************************
The clean-up and body-move were proven beyond a reasonable doubt, and
the judges and juries that convicted Amanda also determined that she
had staged the “burglary.” Though it’s possible Amanda was not the
person who did those things (and also possible she was not the person
who locked Meredith’s door after the murderer left Meredith’s room),
inferences reasonably drawn from the clean-up and cover-up evidence,
together with the ample evidence summarized above (and other physical
evidence and testimony not mentioned here), solidly support the murder
conviction. The burden shifted to Amanda long ago to answer the tough
questions posed in this imaginary monologue:
Amanda, it’s clear that someone cleaned up after Meredith was
murdered. Someone also cut off her bra and repositioned her body - to
make it appear, we think, that she’d been raped. We think that person
also staged a burglary so it would appear the murderer hadn’t been let
in by someone who lived there. Even if a burglary actually happened, as
you insist, who in his right mind would risk drawing suspicion on
himself by cleaning up after the murder, or by moving and covering
Meredith’s body? And if he did bother to clean up, why would he ignore
his own bloody footprints? Why would he pause to lock Meredith’s door
with a key, and yet leave the front door wide open? It’s difficult to
believe you weren’t involved in the clean-up and body-moving, or why you
might have done those things for an innocent reason. The killer would
have no reason to have done them. Obviously Meredith didn’t. No one
suggests your two out-of-town roommates came back and did all this, or
that a stranger wandered in off the street and did it. Who does that
      leave?
You, with or without Raffaele’s help. We found your DNA, mixed with
Meredith’s DNA, in five different places around the cottage - including
even Filomena’s bedroom, where you insist a burglary occurred. We didn’t
even find Filomena’s own DNA in her bedroom, much less any trace of a
burglar or anyone else - just your DNA, mixed with Meredith’s. You’ve
also told several different stories about where you were that night.
Sometimes you were home, sometimes you weren’t; sometimes you’re not
sure. Sometimes you invited Patrick Lumumba into your cottage and he
killed Meredith, sometimes you didn’t and Patrick had nothing to do with
the murder; sometimes you’re not sure. Sometimes you insist Guede broke
Filomena’s window and climbed in; sometimes you say Meredith must have
let him in; sometimes you’re not sure. And so on. Maybe you had nothing
to do with this gruesome murder, Amanda, but, frankly, we doubt
seriously that you’ve told us all you know about what happened that
night. Maybe it’s time you did. Better late than never.

According to an interview with The Observer (via The Guardian) following that acquittal, Lumumba believes Knox was found not guilty because of status and appearances. “Amanda is free because she is American, but Americans are human like everybody," Lumumba said. As of last year, the 43-year-old Lumumba was living in Krakow, Poland with his wife. He has alleged that Knox's accusation and his involvement in this case lost him his business and made it impossible to find another job in Perugia. “What Amanda did I don’t know, but I think she knows why Meredith died," Lumumba told The Guardian.

    • @mytrip6991
      @mytrip6991 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

Lumumba was paid 70,000 euros for an interview just after his release. Almost every single claim he made in that article he contradicted in his sworn court testimony: he did NOT fire Knox, his relationship with Knox was fine, he said the only thing he knew about the girls' relationship was that they were "friends" and never once mentioned Knox being 'jealous' of Kercher.
His dark, tiny, hole in the wall bar, Le Chic (I've been there), was not doing well financially when he hired Knox to try and get the university crowd to go there. They preferred Domus and and Red Zone. The PROSECUTOR, not Knox, kept Le Chic closed for THREE MONTHS after his release and total proof he had nothing to do with the murder. Why? First he claimed that the police beat, kicked and threatened him. Later he claimed that they treated him 'well' and he couldn't understand why Knox would say she hit. One way or the other, he was lying.

Terrifying how ridiculously arrogant and proud they are for having 'figured it out so early on'. (i would laugh if it weren't so disgusting). If you actually watch the documentary and have even half a brain you'll conclude that she is in fact innocent. The unlawful contamination Italian police commit during investigations is disturbing and painful to observe even through a computer screen. The fact that some people watch the documentary from start to finish and are still confused, unsure, or even swearing she's still guilty is... confusing. She had just gone on exchange, was in love, living the time of her life. Even if she and Meredith had opposite personalities I don’t really see this happening. • @mytrip6991

There was no motive as she is innocent. The prosecution gave multiple motives, none of which stood up to investigation. Rudy Guede, the convicted murderer, had motive: no job, no money and his rent was due. He had a history of burglary and being caught with stolen property.

Well, had you stuck to your education you might understand the definition of remorse, it's a deep regret for a wrong you've committed, since she didn't murder her friend, there's no reason for her to feel remorse. Did she feel sad that her friend had been murdered? Yes, and one of the boyfriends of the other roommates who was waiting in a car with her and Sollecito that more when the police were examining the crime scene, she broke down and cried several times so you're seeing just what you want to see, you haven't mentioned evidence, it's just what YOU and a few pro guilt idiots claim is something in her eyes and you're so street smart you neglected your education, good for you.
Are you familiar with Debra Milke? She was wrongfully convicted of killing her 4 yr old son without one shred of evidence, she spent 24 yrs in prison in Arizona and 22 of that was on death row. She said what happens when you are accused of a crime you are immediately put in a position where you're having to defend yourself, so all grieving is put on hold and the grieving doesn't continue until you are done fighting for yourself, so she got out of prison 2 or 3 yrs ago and realized she had never grieved for her little boy. I'm sure Knox felt terrible about Meredith, she showed it in the beginning but then she was put in a position where she was having to fight for her own life and I don't think you can really grieve and fight for your own life at the same time.....There's a lesson to be learned from others that have gone thru similar experiences as Knox did.

I'm reading the book "awaiting to be heard" and it's a goddamn horror story of how you watch her good intentions turn into her condemnation it's a far more harrowing tale in her own words I wish nothing but curses on the Perugian PD how could they let that happen how dare they let this slide

She is trying so hard to mimic emotions but is in vain, you don't need a degree to observe the obvious. If you are not guilty there is no reason to lie and lie and change your story again and again. Nice try ....

@Jonathan Colatorti you think that changing the story was a response to methods used to trigger a "desired" response?
