Gorillaz was not a TV show, however they did air new releases on Cartoon Network during the Toonami block along with Daf Punkk and a few other artists.
That's probably why you thought it was a TV show.

it''s zombie talk... and Del is a ghost/old friend that lives inside Russel Hobbs (the drummer) head and he comes out to speak for a moment as a guide/mentor after Murdoc (bass player/satanist) performs a ritual in a cemetery and summons an army of zombie gorillaz by mistake. ..."So you can survive when law is lawless" and "sunshine in a bag" refers to the chemical vitamin D which is found in both sunlight and psilocybin. therefor having a bag of mushrooms is like having sunshine in a bag. Del is well known for his unusual cadance style and his underground "trip hop" because of his stint with halucinogens. the line "the future is coming on" is also refering to the onset of mushrooms, in this case, or any other type of haluciongen. Del also released an album around this time with Dan the Automator under the moniker Deltron 3030. It was a futuristic concept album, very trippy.

I feel the video takes away from the vibe and feel of the song sometimes when I watch people react. I think if they would listen to the song without the video the song would hit harder. I appreciate how you started to pickup on Del's lyrics halfway through the song. Good shit bro

@@lotus2001 I didn't say all videos just this one. MOST reactors I have personally viewed always seem to miss bars that I personally feel help with the overall vibe of the song when reacting to the Gorillas dancing thriller or the other awesome visuals. I know it's too much to ask so I never do, but I've seen some listen to the audio first then watch the video and it's pretty dope. To each their own though it doesn't really matter to me. Just conveying my personal opinion.

They definitely were not on cartoon network and dont have a show (even tho it was planned but never happened). They are just a cartoon band or well virtual band. None of the cartoons are actually real, they are all fake and made up. They dont actually have four band members, just two creators which are Damon Albarn (singer of blur and does all the music for gorillaz) and Jamie Hewlett (creator of a comic series Tank Girl and does all the art for Gorillaz).
The four "band members" have a big history/story that follows through albums (the lore is so insane and big that it could actually be a movie or tv show) anyways enough history of gorillaz you should definitely check out Feel Good Inc, Melancholy Hill, Saturnz Barz and so many of there other songs!!! ps they dont have a genre of music so its all mixed with each other
You are actually wrong this song was played on adultswim or toonami which is cartoon network way back in the day but otherwise yeah it was never a show on there they just played the music video.
You got some of the lyrics wrong. I get it, it's hard. The line you tried to quote back you said was "fearless sensations that you thought were there". The actual line is "feeling sensations that you thought were dead". As to what that _means..._ I dunno. Like a lot of music, you can read into it almost anything. It could easily be a message about things you thought you buried in the past coming back to haunt you, and that your reactions are in your mind, that it's nothing external to yourself. Or it could be a reference to drugs. A lot of the rest of it seems like it might be, and it'd hardly be the first time a song made veiled references to drugs, like "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"... when you just check the capital letters in that title.
Gorillaz are an incredible creation but Damon cheated massively in this one. The backbeat for the whole track is actually a PRESET 😂 Specifically it is Rock Preset 1 on a Sony Omnichord. Push one button on that bad boy and, boom, instant classic. I thought you would get it more as it is essentially a hip hop track featuring Del The Funky Homo Sapien an all time LEGEND!
