Del the Funk Homosapien in my opinion has one of the best flow of any rapper ever period. His phrasing and timing is like a guitar solo...

The are all musicians from different bands. When they preform you don’t see them. Huge screen with cartoons and visuals instead. A rare band where you DONT want to be upfront.
You see them since 2010 but yeah the illusion still lives
Gorrilaz is Damon alburn from blur and another guy who does the visual and they have guest singers/rappers
you do see the band and vocalist on stage, in the early 2000’s they kept an illusion but now they have their own festival and they have gone on tour as themselves for a decade, the cartoons are on a big screen and it’s still an awesome visual experience. But yeah have you not seen the many Gorillaz performances of damon albarn and his band lol?
Del Tha Funky Homosapien is Ice Cube's cousin. Other dude was the lead singer of the band "Blur"

The quote that appears under the "Gorillaz" in the title card is from the movie "Dawn of the Dead". It's 2-D's favorite movie.
This has a lot of lore, most of it you can glimpse it in the music videos if watched in chronological order, but their book "Rise of the Ogre" explains everything.
From what I've been told, the name "Gorillaz" comes from a comment Liam Gallagher of Oasis made. Damon Albarn, the musical force behind Gorillaz, used to be/is in another band called Blur, who were a major competitor with Oasis back in the 90s at the peak of Britpop. An interviewer compared the feud to the battle between The Beatles and The Rolling Stones in the 60s, and asked Liam whether Oasis were The Beatles or the Stones. Liam responded, "We're the Beatles and the Stones, and [Blur are] the fucking Monkees." Albarn apparently named his next group Gorillaz to poke fun at this comment.
Definitely check out more of their work; they love collaborating with different artists in almost every song. Their variety is something else, music and visual-wise

The Gorillaz is a supergroup created by the singer of british rock band "Blur", Damon Auburn. His "Blur" band is studio and tour band with additional known musicians and singers. The co founder of the band is the animator of the Gorillaz. Questlove drummed the first 2 albums, Dan the Automator did all the mixing and sampling, Damita Hughes voiced and sang under the Noodle character. This album was recorded in Los Angeles, Leeds (England) and NYC.
What in the clint eastwood are you on about?
First off it's Damon ALBARN. He co-created the band with Tank Girl comic-book co-creator Jamie Hewlett, and except for him, the Gorillaz ever-evolving formation has NOTHING to do with the same four guys from Blur.
Drums on the first 2 AND plastic beach album was long-time gorillaz collaborator Cass Browne, who co-wrote the official band biography "Rise of the Ogre", Questlove was NEVER a part of the band.
The singing voice for Noodle was Cibo Matto's Miho Hatori, and speaking voice was Haruka Kuroda (several people took on the role later, but those were the first two).
Finally, the first album was recorded at Studio 13 in London.

The whole band is cartoons ((actually 2 British guys)) but they have feature artists rapping like DEL the funky homosapien (CLINT EASTWOOD) and De La Soul (FEEL GOOD INC)
The artistry in the music and animation is what I love about Gorillaz. They always feature lots of different artists in their tracks. It is so wonderfully collaborative!

Band doesn’t really exist. The whole idea is that he can collaborate with anyone. The animation idea is that the music means more then the actual band so they show an animated band instead.

Def do Feel Good Inc featuring rappers from De la Soul. One of the great songs ever. And so many other excellent Gorillaz songs beyond that. Great rabbit hole to go down.

@@agguwaggu that's what I love about the bar, it's open for interpretation and there isn't a wrong way to interpret it. Though Damon Albarn was/is a bit of a stoner, and has definitely been on class a drugs, so it's very possible it was originally intended that way. But I love bars that can be open to interpretation regardless

I genuinely now think 99% of music reactors on youtube are faking these vids. One reason I think is they act like or say they have apparently not heard of a super popular song that was overplayed on the TV and the radio and whatnot and even heavily advertised when it was new to the point almost everyone recognised it then. Another reason is that some of these reactors don't act like they are genuinely surprised or act like they have definitely heard it and from the get go are just bopping their head and when the tone or rhythm of a song changes they still act the exact same and RARELY pause the videos to say stuff as if they were only pausing the videos to reduce chances of copyright strikes on their channels and ALSO I don't think I have EVER heard of someone doing a music reaction where they didn't like the video and I know for a fact that some of the songs I have seen reactions of are songs which have a large number of haters or people who don't like the style of music used in the song. I mean in a song like this I would expect people to act way differently when the rap is introduced but this guy just headbopping for almost the whole thing until the end when he says a little bit about what he thinks of the song and that he likes this
ALSO 1.30 of this WHOLE video is just a black screen with subscribe now plastered over it to increase the length of the video which in turn increases watch time and increases the chance of more ads appearing the watch time of the channel increases because there are always people watching a video who don't pause it when it is over and start moving on to other stuff without closing youtube or the video tab on your PC's browser and the video still plays in the background

People will always recommend Feel Good Inc but imo it's ones of their least inspired songs. Tomorrow Comes Today, Every Planet We Reach is Dead, November Has Come, We Are Happy Landfill, Empire Ants and Rhinestone Eyes are all great.
How old are you dudes on youtube on these music recall videos ?, if your 18 and younger then its possible you may not of heard of the band, kinda odd though because its a well known indie group and whats strikes me is why is it only black ethnic minority who never heard of them ? Very strange because Gorrillaz are up thier with like of Coldplay, Oasis and band like this known globally. Or maybe the Ghettos of america are stepping out the shadows from just gangsta shoot your bitch/brother/streets up, dollar dollar/pimpin and ballin rap lol.
Dont get me wrong i do like hiphop and rap but even i know of bands i dont listen too nor like even of era before my time from UK and US, broaden your bloody minds in music, because your black doesnt mean all black music is the way you go, im white but when it comes to music i have diverse taste of music from different genre but thier are types that dont fit me, what i see lately on youtube that huge majority of black people only listen to music of your own culture wether its from the streets or other.
