2008 Sienna Radio Removal and Installation

In this video, we remove and later reinstall the Denso DVD factory NAV unit that came in the 2008 Sienna Limited with the JBL sound system. My 4 year old son helped me film the project! :)

I took it to a shop that replaced the drive. About $400 to fix it. Good luck!

I didn't know you could play a movie on the nav screen. How? Did you put the movie in the map dvd slot? I though you could only watch movies on the rear player.

It will play as long as the vehicle is in park with the parking brake engaged

Well easy enough to remove unit . What I have is a service manual that came with my used van but the radio unit is not what is shown in the manual and no amount of trying to do anything with controls works when the manual is contrary to what you are looking at! Thanks for the details. everything works on mine except for the stuck CD ? I will have to see about upgrading the map dvd as well.

They are temperamental units. I wish they were more simple to fix, but at least removal is easy. Good luck!

I think it was $400 to replace the drive. Very easy to reinstall and it's been great since then. Unfortunately, our rear DVD player no longer works, so I'll film that when I get around to fixing it.

The trim will come out with the radio. No need to remove first. just take off the 4 10 mm screws. Thats what holds the radio in.

400bucks not worth it in my opinion you could of just upgraded to a alpine with better quality sound specially for the woofer in the back

I considered that, but integration with the backup camera and rear dvd was too complex. Stock seemed like the way to go and we’ve been pleased with it.
