      Did you use the same camera you used in the back for the front?

    Shoutout to the video notes at 7:30… I managed to separate the rubber from its clip (idk why they didn’t just do rubber on both ends) and this video helped me understand how it was supposed to work.

    You could just hock up camera power to reverse light bulb wiring on the back. No mess with wiring harness.

    Can this alpine work like a dashcam as well? Like constantly recording everything?

    I did what you show here for my Boss head unit - to the red and black wire and as soon as I connect the two wires (one from back of unit the reverse trigger wire purple to the red and black one in the loom) the rear camera comes on and stays on permanently even if not in reverse! Any thoughts please!

      Hook up camera power cable to cable that goes to reverse light bulb. It will power up your camera only when you step on the brake. I did that with all my backup cameras, that I installed on 5 cars. Don't follow those video instructions. Cable color coding could be different on your car. You've probably hooked up the camera to constant battery power, that will create parasitic voltage drain. Your battery will be out of juice in a week or so.

      You are spot on sir, thanks I’d hooked up to another red wire with a TINY silver stripe - very hard to see! Found the correct red and black and now works again
      Thanks for the info

    Did you use the same camera model for the front of the van? Same license plate mount?

    • @ProvoBeastAudio
      @ProvoBeastAudio  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can, yes as you can disable the mirror feature to convert it to a front facing camera.

      We used the amzn.to/47hq5kK camera, but had to pull off the front bumper to properly install it.
