Love Old Timer knives. Have owned several of them and used them (Trappers frequently), through the years. Great review, thanks for posting! (Today, I holster at S&W "spear" or Buck snap blade.)
Differences from the original; no lanyard hole and has a weaker hollow grind instead of the original saber grind . For edc it's o.k. . Glad its made in the U.S. . May that continue with their other blades.
I have a sharpfinger type knife and I can't seem to be able to cut paper with it. Case in point, I don't see you cutting paper with it either. Does this have anything to do with the geometry of the blade's edge? I tend to think that my sharpening technique is not up to snuff to make mine paper cutting sharp. :)
The edge does kind of "fall" away from the paper at the end, so it would be a little harder to do it with than most. Since it was windy that day, the wind kept blowing the paper when I tried to cut it. I could have gone inside and cut some, but by then I figured the vid was good enough without it. Before I sharpened it, it could not cleanly cut paper though.

Old Timer knives used to be made in Ellenville, N.Y.
But that was Years Ago.
They're made in China now.

Oh shite, the classic skinner right there. Skinned many critters with mine.
50 seconds into the video i went and bought a used 152 ot sharp finger second hand off ebay, that knife is hella sexy ngl
Excellent, glad you like!
Very nice
I always thought that this was an interesting design. I know it was just a skinner design but I thought it may have been good for other tasks.
I have no problem with 1095 sharpening. You can dial it in easily.
