On your theory of Rimuru building a haven for monsters, you are fully correct. And by haven, I mean it. He gets powerful enough that most just look in his general direction and say “Yeah, not worth the trouble.”
No, Goblin Slayer did say "The only good goblins are the ones who never get out from their hole," so he would not 'visit' them because all of the goblins finally settled down. No need to steal food, no need to attack humans, no need to serve evil gods
To be fair, Goblin Slayer very explicitly acknowledges that "good goblins" are possible if they stay within their homes and don't cause trouble. If he got called to attack this settlement, he'd realize via reconnaissance that they're not the tortuous rapist goblins he dedicated his life to culling and just leave them be.
Killing Ranga's dad a "dark moment"? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Only some miner stuff was cut out of this episode, nothing major though. The part with the boss wolf was fairly spot on, getting trapped in the sticky web, getting beheaded and everything. So far so good looking forward to seeing the Dwarven kingdom and all the "fun" Rimuru has there hehehe....😎😎
Boshwa Rimuru hands down. His Unique Skill is insanely OP. He could literally swallow Ainz and then BECOME him. And this isn’t even considering his power LATER in the series.

I mean they are all executed very differently in my opinion. Although most of the time isekai is used as an excuse to explain some mechanics and things in the world. I wouldn’t really count overlord as an isekai because it barely ever comes up.
ΝΙΚΟΣ ΝΙΚΟΣ The spider girl story is really good tho. It's really really good. At least from what I've seen on the earlier chapter, haven't keep up with it.
Alfred Schlichtcock I think you misunderstood me. I wasnt trying to imply that any of them were bad as a matter of fact I do enjoy all of them (some more than others). I just find it weird that we have so many isekais about people turning into different species pop up recently
Slime gave him ( Wolf leader ) plenty off warnings and he tried to be friendly, he told the Dire Wolfs to leave, but they already killed Goblins and he didn't know if they would win or lose in an actual battle so killing there Leader was best option, since he was the aggressor and most dangerous, Slime absorbed him to communcate with the Wolf pact and scare them so they would run away, Pretty much best possible outcome!!!!
I like how they incorporated real life beliefs as their is "power in a name". Which is why ppl call bad names a "curse" cuz it can have direct effects on your life. Loving this everyday :D
I guess Named Npc / monsters are basically considered strong in RPG, making them unique / stand out from the bunch of characters / monsters in game. Also this will trigger goblin Slayer since the slime just buff the goblins.
Did anybody notice the elder goblin after evolving was busting out moves like Alex Louis Armstrong, The Strongarm Alchemist, from Full Metal Alchemist?
"I feel like our mc is building a capital city for monsters"...Ekhem, no, not at all, why would you think that :D? Also, he built a wall for the goblins and made the direwolves pay for it...
I like the brutality suddenly occurring giving us a taste of how how this anime can and almost definitely will but can still pull off a happy tone and atmosphere as it is justified. The death of the pack leader was i guess a necessary evil compared to like overlord which you mentioned and how he doesnt stop with the 70,000 but sends his goats to kill the remaining too. Which is an un-necessary evil and the whole thing of how he tries to make the hobgoblins and goblinesses not denounce humans as lower shows he still has emotions similiar to before he has become this isekai mc. Which i really love. Especially like you said with the beautiful animation. And the effort shown in the pack of wolves and the amount they had to animate in those scenes to make them move flush with the camera focus is just a refreshing taste for isekai when we look at the other isekai like overlord. It just seems to have a good storyline and great animation quality. Once again. You literally say everything i was thinking and thanks for clearing up why he is so powerful as i was torn between it being because he was harbouring a dragon in his interdimensional stomach or because of the naming. 👍👍👍
It’s pretty cool to get all these perspectives on Goblins and other monsters recently. ^_^ I’ve been reading Goblin Slayer and ReMonster myself. This tale makes a nice addition.
So far, this maybe one of my all time favourite anime, if it keeps the this style going! Your videos are the best. Keep up the awesome content, Cheebz!
Enjoyed the episode! So glad that the wolves became the good doggos of the show. First Tsundere Dragon got me hooked, then the doggos came with their bushy waggy tails..made me love it more!
I don't think the wolf death was dark compared to the rest of the series because that's the exact same thing he did to that snake thing, and he did worse to the spider, bat and all of the other creatures in that cavern. I mean it shows the wolf's talking but not the others, but ehhh same thing really and we don't know for a fact that they can't talk.
yeah, i think it was properly mentioned in the novel that Rimuru only came to understand their language after devouring the head of the pack. So to him, it was like killing off any other predators in the cave
+tanvir Labib No.... the world's language is self translated, Rimuru understand them fine before devouring the wolf. You're thinking about the telepathy skill he gained after that, not the same thing.
In the first volume when he's named, he says that he felt "something" when he was named but it wasn't very strong. So I'm pretty sure between that and the fact he didn't undergo an evolution like the goblins that he already had a ton of power, veldora added a little bit and he was already as high ranking of a slime he could be at the time until he could evolve himself later.
Liked the ep a lot. Huge anime fan. And I hope it looks like Ironforge from WoW. Built into the side of/in a mountain. Either way I'm sure it'll be good.
Prolly just build up the area around the village. That said I do hope the village gets a better look in the future but hope it isn't too modern for the era.
I think the names goes a little deeper because it's not just names, but sur-names. When he named the head wolf, all the wolves got a power up because they were one clan to begin with, thus giving the clan head wolf a name affected the clan as a whole. This explains the MCs real power because the dragon didn't just give him a name, he shared a family name with him, so more deeply sharing his power with our MC. This also explains the goblin elder's joy when his son got to share his name, becoming a family name for the elder's clan, perhaps getting so radically buffed because he is the head of his own clan now.
At bit of clarification on the Storm Dragon's effect on the world. Veldora being imprisoned was a high level state secret and only a few people were aware of it. Most beings assumed he was merely sleeping so they avoided causing problems in that forest to make sure that natural disaster didn't awake up. As long as his power reading was there all countries would go around the forest, with the signal having disappeared the area is now not only a valid invasion route but also a nearly untouched resource area.

She was the one who sealed Veldora and she was alive all the time for 300 years or so.. after he gets rid of Ifrit for her she dies and he absorbs her to honor her ,since she was his (destined human) from an oracle or so if I remember correctly , and to fullfil her regrets she had before dying.

its confusing because when she is introduced she is named as a great hero and but it wasnt her who faced veldora because he states in his journal that she was summoned after his sealing but @halorocks Az she is been there for at most 200 years because she taught the guild master in the capital and infrit been keeping her youthful i say 200 years because if it was any normal human life span she would have just grown to that age but she lived way beyond that the girl who sealed valdoura is with church
Probably a world that is a mix of extremely far off future (with stuff as energy to matter transference, power armor, teleportation, force feilds, basically everything other than space travel) and other worldly fantasy (with floating mountains, impossible phenomenon, magic, ancient civilizations and ruins holding great secrets, and so on) to create some mind boggling scenery. As for what to be reincarnated as. Perhaps something serpentine and amazing, beautiful, and enchanting to behold, with the ability to take a humanoid form if possible and not by eating someone. Gender can be either/or, not like one has control over that anyway.

Hey Chibi, love your content. Just wanted to add if yo look at it as game, named monster/NPC are always more powerful than the generic one. So it make sense for them to get more powerful.
Re: Monster is a mix of the goblins from Goblin Slayer and this anime, shows the MC growing up as a goblin and explains why they kidnap girls often, but also shows they can become good when raised right.
So far so good. I just REALLY hope they don't censor (or cheap out) on the future hype scenes. Kinda hope this doesn't disappoint as the Overlord anime certainly did.
A couple of things: - "Slime Tensei" (Slime Rebirth) works as a shortened name for the series. - Naming is one of the most broken "skills" in this series (a skill that all monsters technically have) you'll see why later. - The only names you need to remember as of now are Gobta (the Goblin that didn't change much) and Ranga (aside from Rimuru and Veldora of course) the only other one that you might want to remember is Rigurd (Goblin Lord) granted I didn't read the LN since there's only a single volume translated thus far (up to date on the WN though and it's less than 10 chapters from being complete) so the importance of characters might change. - This is the first episode that adapted a chapter-an-a-half of the manga so far (up to chapter 4.5 now) based on the opening the anime looks like it'll shoot past where the manga currently is (based on 3 character we see). - Also that rule he casually made (Never attack Humans) becomes a pretty "interesting" plot point later on.
I have read the light novel if anyone has some questions I will be willing to answer them as it mean I can be bothered FYI if you're reading this if somebody has commented it's possible that there will be spoilers so be weary oh and in terms of anime they could probably make about four seasons of this with how much content the novel has depending on how much they cut out

I think this is one of my favorite animes this season thus far. haha i like the contrast between goblin slayer and slime. Also I would highly recommend Rascal does not dream of bunny girl.
Two minutes in and im already gonna like the video because chibi referenced the inheritance cycle books or eragon books, good comparison even tho the books refer more to true names and actually finding it than just getting one
Im not sure if that also applies in the anime, but in D&D hobgoblins have a ~20 years longer lifespan than goblins. That would explain why the goblin elder is so fit suddenly. He went from close to death to having 20 years left.
Yeah the art is really good its simplistic and seems like it would be easy to animate as well so im hopeful that the rest of the series keeps this level of quality.
Chibi, I just wanted to say that I've only been here for a couple months but I look forward to each and every video of yours, and I genuinely hope you're having a great day. Keep up the good work man.
One thing you forgot is that the MC not only get his name from Veldora he also shares the same last name with him "Tempest", that link their souls which make the MC have some dragon aura and that's what make his aura so wicked for the monster BTW When a monster recives a name that name get branded in his/her soul and that makes them subjects of the one that give the name
I think you should also note how Rimmaru could influence the specific characteristics a monster develops through the specific name used. For example, naming the goblin chief as the head of the village made him the strongest hobgoblin and when he was later named as a goblin lord he got even stronger. An even better example is how the dire wolves were named storm fang and then developed weather manipulation powers. Lets just hope he doesn't name any one stinky!
As a manga reader, I was looking foward to this and it did not disappoint. My only very minor criticism of this episode is that they cut a little bit of the battle setup. In the Manga the Goblins were positioned in the trees and were sniping the wolves that were geting shreaded by the steel webs. The ones that managed to get past the webs had their heads bashed in by club wielding goblins when they stuck there heads through the fence trying to get in. It was brutal. As for the naming mechanic, I always viewed it like a named ememy mechanic in a video game. Most monsters don't have names just like most weak mob monsters don't have names. When you come across a mob monster with a name in a game, it's usually because they are a boss monster or an important character.
I'm inclined to agree with how the MC killing the pack leader was kind of brutal, however the thing that kind of surprised me was the fact he didn't seem squeamish or hesitant about the act also the whole name thing kind of makes sense, when seen from a typical-general MMO/RPG angle; because most monsters are shown to have their race and variants displayed while the more powerful and near-boss-like versions have unique names, for example a lamia is given a ice/snow-based name, the Lamia in question would gain ice-based abilities and physically change to match them and it's name, not only that the named lamia would then get a rework of its strengths and weaknesses.
Not all of the Goblins leveled up some hardly changed!! The Elder levelled up the most because of his age and experience!! Even though he was week(they were all week) he was their leader and Elder so its natural for him to stay as strongest Goblin.
I had finished reading the mango when the anime first got announced as well as a few others appearing as anime. Made me feel like I could tell what they were going to animate. So far I like this one though, kinda calm compared to the other stuff I've read.
I'm a manga-only viewer, but only up to chapter 11 (pretty much where episode 3 seems to have reached) Here is my 2c. I'm not sure if they showed it in the anime (don't think they have yet), but in the Manga/Light novel there is a chapter that offers the perspective from the humans. Essentually, there is a city of humans close to the forest that used to be tasked with guarding where the dragon was. Now that the dragon has disapeared there is a little bit of a panic. Part of the panic is the idea that "the monsters will make a move". So the humans see the monsters as a threat even before they have done anything. Shortly there after our Slime Boi creates a village of named Orcs and Wolves. Thus.... Blue slime guy has become the catalyst for war between the humans and monsters. However, it should be noted that he never wanted that. The orks (Goblins?) worshiped him as a god, and the wolves were given the choice of servitude or death (hopping they would leg it for the hills). Slime-guy _by accident_ made a powerful village of monsters that the humans will instantly see as a threat and prepare to attack. ______________________________ From here on it is speculation. Slime wants peace with the humans. However he also sees the monsters as... not as monsters. He sees them as "people" deserving of life just like everyone else. So slimy will (diplomatically) fight for the rights of these monsters, and by extension all monsters, against the humans. He will (eventually) bring peace to the land and everyone will live happily ever after. The End.
I might read the light novels....

so true
Watching both makes my soul feel balanced. I can't really explain it in words
Balance.
Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
lets just hope that Goblin Slayer never come across this settlement
Yeah cause Rimuru would clap him
No, Goblin Slayer did say "The only good goblins are the ones who never get out from their hole," so he would not 'visit' them because all of the goblins finally settled down. No need to steal food, no need to attack humans, no need to serve evil gods
Orcbolg would be destroyed imo
To be fair, Goblin Slayer very explicitly acknowledges that "good goblins" are possible if they stay within their homes and don't cause trouble. If he got called to attack this settlement, he'd realize via reconnaissance that they're not the tortuous rapist goblins he dedicated his life to culling and just leave them be.
Killing Ranga's dad a "dark moment"?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My thoughts exactly
So this series is gonna get pretty dark huh?
Interesting.
There are....dark moments.
But not the entire show.
@@trason9465 by the end of the series (WN), Rimuru's kill count exceeds Ainz's.
End of the series, try towards the middle of arc 2 when SHE makes her debut.
Hmm...so, will he have an heir to his throne? Or will we just have another wifu?

Gobta basically is the equivalent of bad luck Brian.

He is Yamsha, if Yamsha is actually useful
xD nice kinda figuired.
Gobta is a G my dude
Why are you so shocked there was already a decapitation when he killed and absorbed the poison snake :D
To be fair that snake was a mindless animal vs the wolf that had sentience and a tiny buildup to a reveal.
The animators did make it look SUPER dramatic as well XD
I think the surprising thing was the amount of blood that gushed from its neck.
@TheBuragi Then ate him...
Also breathed poison at the lizard monster and F*&^%d him up so horribly, they had to blur-censor it.
The slayer's goblins are just mad they dont live in this village. Pretty impressed they are keeping up with the quality on this.
I really hope it doesnt dip in quality, 8bit is doing an awesome job so far
It was an great episode! especially since Gobuta is finally animated.

I begin to see a pattern when it comes to isekais
Yeah. Wants a trope gets popularity, it gets mass produced 😓
I mean they are all executed very differently in my opinion.
Although most of the time isekai is used as an excuse to explain some mechanics and things in the world. I wouldn’t really count overlord as an isekai because it barely ever comes up.
overlord is not reincarnation neither is how not to summon
ΝΙΚΟΣ ΝΙΚΟΣ The spider girl story is really good tho. It's really really good. At least from what I've seen on the earlier chapter, haven't keep up with it.
Alfred Schlichtcock
I think you misunderstood me.
The more you know
I thought they were basing it off a mmo rpg type thing
I guess Named Npc / monsters are basically considered strong in RPG, making them unique / stand out from the bunch of characters / monsters in game.
Also this will trigger goblin Slayer since the slime just buff the goblins.
I liked that dark moment it made me sure that we don't have a naive mc like some...
Yes me too. Hate naive or weak characters who can't kill
Rimuru is somewhat naive initially but he learns from his mistakes

@@ChibiReviews its goblin slayer from the goblins perspective. kinda
Aaditya Acharya Not even close. It may start off that way but the rate Rou evolves and what he becomes, he might as well have started as a human.
Rou is literally monster Big Boss crossed with Dark Schneider. Nuff said. Tis good.
Sound effcts of this anime reminds me of no game no life hahaha... bazzummm! Esp.. the dragon
Rimuru will be new pokemon champion with 10000000 pokemon in his pc *evolved*

Rimuru be like!: BUILD A WALL!
*spoiler*
orc lord arc kinda messed up with all the cannibalism, I wonder how people's reaction will be towards that part
+tanvir Labib No.... the world's language is self translated, Rimuru understand them fine before devouring the wolf. You're thinking about the telepathy skill he gained after that, not the same thing.
@@Xedllin boyyy I havent read that part but I don't mind spoilers I have a sense of excitement
oof rough
Dwargon is indeed a fortify city inside mountain
It could be similar to Ironforge we will need to wait and see how anime depict them
I think the names goes a little deeper because it's not just names, but sur-names.
Chibi, where's Golden Kamuy S2 reviews?
Prolly busy working on stuff or moving into his new house or something.
At bit of clarification on the Storm Dragon's effect on the world. Veldora being imprisoned was a high level state secret and only a few people were aware of it. Most beings assumed he was merely sleeping so they avoided causing problems in that forest to make sure that natural disaster didn't awake up. As long as his power reading was there all countries would go around the forest, with the signal having disappeared the area is now not only a valid invasion route but also a nearly untouched resource area.
do we slay the goblins or lay the goblins? (ik grammatically it doesn't work but just roll with it)
Slay the goblins, smash the goblinas

Dog day's world. The safest world ever exist than heaven.

Lets build a wall... That meme observation was dope, lol.
A couple of things:
- "Slime Tensei" (Slime Rebirth) works as a shortened name for the series.
Assuming they literally can't fight them will be funny.
@@kinremnant4616 there are exceptions like self defense I am sure.

Actually, it's been completed for a long while. Just not fully translated into english yet. ;)

I think this is one of my favorite animes this season thus far. haha i like the contrast between goblin slayer and slime. Also I would highly recommend Rascal does not dream of bunny girl.
This anime is getting more fun, awesome and heartfelt as we go. I am really excited.
Tempt us wolves, lol. And Rimaru Tempt Us.... Tempest May be the word you were looking for.
One thing you forgot is that the MC not only get his name from Veldora he also shares the same last name with him "Tempest", that link their souls which make the MC have some dragon aura and that's what make his aura so wicked for the monster
BTW When a monster recives a name that name get branded in his/her soul and that makes them subjects of the one that give the name
Told you so in the previous review! :)
Building a monster kingdom?
Spot on, bro. You are right. That is the directing this is going to go in.
Dragonblade722 Gobuta got his first kill on a wolf
I'm inclined to agree with how the MC killing the pack leader was kind of brutal, however the thing that kind of surprised me was the fact he didn't seem squeamish or hesitant about the act
also the whole name thing kind of makes sense, when seen from a typical-general MMO/RPG angle; because most monsters are shown to have their race and variants displayed while the more powerful and near-boss-like versions have unique names, for example a lamia is given a ice/snow-based name, the Lamia in question would gain ice-based abilities and physically change to match them and it's name, not only that the named lamia would then get a rework of its strengths and weaknesses.
I'd love this to be like Kirby. It's cute with a few dark moments in the beginning, then by the end, he is fighting some Lovecraftian horrors.
Manatwar55 Lovecraft is definitely in there. Just not the horrors part
Not all of the Goblins leveled up some hardly changed!! The Elder levelled up the most because of his age and experience!! Even though he was week(they were all week) he was their leader and Elder so its natural for him to stay as strongest Goblin.
I'm pretty hyped up as a whole, even if I already know what's going to happen
I had finished reading the mango when the anime first got announced as well as a few others appearing as anime. Made me feel like I could tell what they were going to animate. So far I like this one though, kinda calm compared to the other stuff I've read.
You're gonna love this series. Would definitely suggest reading the manga/ln
such a good series so far, I'm super excited for future episodes.
3 weeks in Autumn already, geez, time flies! o_o
I'm a manga-only viewer, but only up to chapter 11 (pretty much where episode 3 seems to have reached)
Here is my 2c.
______________________________
From here on it is speculation.
The End.
