The one thing I absolutely love about this anime/manga/novel is that it does not have any problem showing how bad things can get, or how bad the past had been to the characters. But when Rimuru comes into the picture, everyone seems to remember that although the past may have been absolutely terrible they can look to the future and know what it feels like to be truly happy and remember how to smile.
When rimuru took his mask off I got flashbacks to the whole overlord scene that’s like “I don’t sense any mana at all from you” “Oh **takes off ring** ”

To be honest Ainz and Rimuru have one thing they share and it makes them both characters that I really like. They both care for the people they lead and are ready to start shit for the sake of their people. They don't take shit if the safety of their people is in danger. I must agree, the fact that the anime has the time to flash all this out and also gets this great art makes it really great. I think if this anime only had 12 episodes it would have a hard time to be as great as it is.
The Difference is; Lord Ainz Ooal Gown is more of a insta-death and less hopeful if people go inside to his Crib. Then Master Rimuru Tempest is rather forgivable and more chance to the people try raiding his/her/it's own territory surviving but still punishable thanks to his/her/it's own Oni-Bodyguards (Ninja and Kunoichi-Wyverns with Berserker Secretary and Samurai General). _EDIT_ : Welp mostly Yes, they do seem share 'some' similarities but Remember, Lord Ainz nearly lost or Lost his own humanity, at the other hand Master Rirmuru is Retaining his own sanity to not be so cold to any races and that includes Humans since He/she/it likes them, Either-way i like both of them for how they handle things on their own at their new world. For him everything Ainz Ooal Gown is more worth then the rest, Including the Guild HQ and all later integrated Subjects. Even the protection of the VIPs of Carne are taken serious. While for Rimuru he sees the City that he builds more as a thing then something important, as it can be rebuild with ease. So no reason to get angry over some buildings. And the other times (at least in the WN I don't know how much they change this in the LN later on) there is no real great danger for his important things/people. If I remember right Rimuru only lost it two times for real. And at this points there wasn't much left of the lovable Slime until his anger subsided. Also the last thing you said I don't know, can you recommend it?

I think what a lot of people missed in this episode is the name of the ability Rimuru uses when he becomes human, yes he absorbed Shizu so he takes on her appearance, but as you can plainly see in the anime he only looks like Shizu when he makes himself look feminine. His ability is mimic, not copy. He is mimicking Shizu, which is why he keeps his own trait of being gender-less. In fact, if you look closely at his attempt at a masculine form you can see that many of his traits are reminiscent of his old human body, which would not be the case if he was copying Shizu instead of mimicking her.
Some people who are up to date with the light novels still seem to think he's actually incapable of taking on actual sex features, when in actuality he probably could if he actually used all pertinent powers, but he doesn't actually understand the full extent of his powers. He definitely does have the ability to manifest genitalia if he put his mind to it he doesn't know how to actually do that. He could have saved Shizu's life if he had absorbed her before she had died...(Although what quality of life would it have been is uncertain) But he doesn't understand the full extent of his powers and what they can do. And there's a lot of thibgs that fall under the category of he really can do, but doesn't yet know how, or doesn't really think he can.
They didn't compete with the goblins, as you put it. Rimuru explicitly noticed in that episode that they were overpowering them. He even implied that he had a good impression of the ogres because they hadn't killed anyone despite being powerful enough to slaughter them. They were clearly holding back before they thought they were facing a demon.
Basically an OP evolution/variation of an ogre but also changes their appearance to being more human-like. The same outcome as with the Goblins to Hobgoblins in the previous episode.

Finally we get to see the Ogres from the opening and ending, I've been in love with this series since it started airing and have been going nuts waiting to meet what seems like the main cast since they're a majority of the focus in the opening and ending.. So glad we finally get to see them, can't wait to see where the story goes with the whole gang finally coming together!

I think the fact they are keeping the anime almost exactly the same as each chapter of the manga is what is also helping to make the anime better than the manga in some areas. Also great channel just discovered it a few weeks ago and think it's amazing! Keep up the good work!

He's not that outstanding at the moment, but he has a broken set of skills that give him an insane growth rate (and actually doesn't even have the most OP component yet). Seriously, if you look at the mechanics of the setting, food chain is so broken that it's not even funny anymore. It's really lucky that Rimuru just happens to have the type advantage against the entities that happen to have the right skills to complete his OP set and runs into them early on.
The best girl known as Shuna has arrived. Can’t wait for the final boss (Shion’s cooking) to get animated. Back to the episode though this was a solid adaptation yet again. There was just one difference and it wasn’t major at all. It was just Rimuru was using attacks on his clone in the cave. He still did everything else though. Can we get an F for gobta though? “It’s a shame that it’s genderless” - benimaru.
Majin Ma = Demon Jin = Human .So basically It's a kind of monster or demon who has a human form . Shizu also was a Majin when she and Ifrit became one.
This is the arc where he no longer fights or rather, he no longer has the need to fight. Except when he has to. That's how strong they will be, the point when the OP slime doesn't need to fight anymore.
Adding to what you said about the cut scenes; I appreciate it, it allowed them to fit the entire fight in the episode instead of a cliffhanger. The animation was good too.

One of Rimuru's powers was mentioned for the first time, but with no explanation -- Multilayer Barrier. Rimuru was surprised that it hadn't automatically worked along with Body Armor to prevent his arm from being cut off. (Grandfather Ogre is best beast!) We don't know from where the power came, nor what it actually does. (Yeah, I know. It is a barrier with multiple layers. 🙄 Thanks, Sherlock.) Usually the show has been good explaining the source of powers, such as this episode telling us that Black Flame is a combo ability built with Degenerate, which in turn came from analyzing Shizu's corpse. The beginning of the opening and end of the ending show a scene with Rimuru and eight more folks, who I think will become his prime lieutenants. They are Rigurd, Ranga, Gobta, and five of the Ogres (all but the very tall male one with the huge wooden hammer). I hope we can assume this means Gobta will start receiving respect from Rimuru. Currently how he treats Gobta is his biggest character flaw, IMO.
Gobta is kinda a gag/ humor character. Though he was the first one to show his hobgoblin village how to summon their own direwolfs. (Which did impress rimuru.)

Also, his appearance not changing at his evolution to Hobgoblin implies to me that he evolved a different way, perhaps in intellect, wisdom, and/or ability to use magic. It would not surprise me if he becomes a shaman or druid once someone is around who can teach him.
My only problem with the anime is that it only lasts for 10 minutes. They should make the episodes a lot longer. I'm tired of waiting a week just to see 10 minutes of it...
I don't know if any one noticed this but. When rimaru was fighting the big female ogere. And he said big. I'm pretty sure she blushed if. The animated pulled of such a small animation I'm impressed. Ive nothing but impressed with this series.

A little side detail they may not mention in the Anime. Two horned ogres are from royalty/nobility, one horned ogres are from the common folk. So you have a prince, a princess, a noble swordmaster, and three common ogres/retainers making the set here.

The Great Sage was fighting for him on Autopilot and that was not enough. There are still people stronger than him in the Manga and Anime.

For him everything Ainz Ooal Gown is more worth then the rest, Including the Guild HQ and all later integrated Subjects. Even the protection of the VIPs of Carne are taken serious. While for Rimuru he sees the City that he builds more as a thing then something important, as it can be rebuild with ease. So no reason to get angry over some buildings.
And the other times (at least in the WN I don't know how much they change this in the LN later on) there is no real great danger for his important things/people. If I remember right Rimuru only lost it two times for real. And at this points there wasn't much left of the lovable Slime until his anger subsided.

Well i have to read both WN and Manga of this then XD sounds like a lot of fun.
I think what a lot of people missed in this episode is the name of the ability Rimuru uses when he becomes human, yes he absorbed Shizu so he takes on her appearance, but as you can plainly see in the anime he only looks like Shizu when he makes himself look feminine.
His ability is mimic, not copy. He is mimicking Shizu, which is why he keeps his own trait of being gender-less.
In fact, if you look closely at his attempt at a masculine form you can see that many of his traits are reminiscent of his old human body, which would not be the case if he was copying Shizu instead of mimicking her.
I noticed that, just cut the long hair short and he looks like his old self.
Some people who are up to date with the light novels still seem to think he's actually incapable of taking on actual sex features, when in actuality he probably could if he actually used all pertinent powers, but he doesn't actually understand the full extent of his powers. He definitely does have the ability to manifest genitalia if he put his mind to it he doesn't know how to actually do that. He could have saved Shizu's life if he had absorbed her before she had died...(Although what quality of life would it have been is uncertain) But he doesn't understand the full extent of his powers and what they can do. And there's a lot of thibgs that fall under the category of he really can do, but doesn't yet know how, or doesn't really think he can.
They didn't compete with the goblins, as you put it. Rimuru explicitly noticed in that episode that they were overpowering them. He even implied that he had a good impression of the ogres because they hadn't killed anyone despite being powerful enough to slaughter them. They were clearly holding back before they thought they were facing a demon.

I think the fact they are keeping the anime almost exactly the same as each chapter of the manga is what is also helping to make the anime better than the manga in some areas. Also great channel just discovered it a few weeks ago and think it's amazing! Keep up the good work!

Seriously, if you look at the mechanics of the setting, food chain is so broken that it's not even funny anymore. It's really lucky that Rimuru just happens to have the type advantage against the entities that happen to have the right skills to complete his OP set and runs into them early on.

Fully evolved, Orc Disaster would actually have been a fully awakened Demon lord with a growth potential almost as insane as Rimuru ends up with when catching him mid evolution.
One of Rimuru's powers was mentioned for the first time, but with no explanation -- Multilayer Barrier. Rimuru was surprised that it hadn't automatically worked along with Body Armor to prevent his arm from being cut off. (Grandfather Ogre is best beast!) We don't know from where the power came, nor what it actually does. (Yeah, I know. It is a barrier with multiple layers. 🙄 Thanks, Sherlock.) Usually the show has been good explaining the source of powers, such as this episode telling us that Black Flame is a combo ability built with Degenerate, which in turn came from analyzing Shizu's corpse. The beginning of the opening and end of the ending show a scene with Rimuru and eight more folks, who I think will become his prime lieutenants. They are Rigurd, Ranga, Gobta, and five of the Ogres (all but the very tall male one with the huge wooden hammer). I hope we can assume this means Gobta will start receiving respect from Rimuru. Currently how he treats Gobta is his biggest character flaw, IMO.
Gobta is kinda a gag/ humor character. Though he was the first one to show his hobgoblin village how to summon their own direwolfs. (Which did impress rimuru.)

Also, his appearance not changing at his evolution to Hobgoblin implies to me that he evolved a different way, perhaps in intellect, wisdom, and/or ability to use magic. It would not surprise me if he becomes a shaman or druid once someone is around who can teach him.

A little side detail they may not mention in the Anime. Two horned ogres are from royalty/nobility, one horned ogres are from the common folk. So you have a prince, a princess, a noble swordmaster, and three common ogres/retainers making the set here.

@@khulmach9662 Well thats the thing, the novel have so much sequence of events I really hope they pace it very well to the novel and not end up as draggy as One Piece or shortened haphazardly like Tokyo Ghouls...Slime have so many really interesting arcs like the creation of Labyrinth Dungeons 100 floors challenge, The Tempest Fight Tournament, The Angels vs Demons war, Yuuki's Manipulation Conspiracy etc etc...I hope they fit all of em into the anime!
