One thing to consider is this the king knows about the orc disaster and he probably found out that the Slime who's building this nation is the one that took down the orc disaster so if you've got a disaster level creature building its own Nation essentially in your backyard are you going to let it happen without checking to make sure they're not going to be a imminent threat to your people?

I was a little disappointed with this episode. The animation and voice acting was on point as usual, but the pacing was off. The writers seemed to gloss over and skip certain scenes that helped develop some of the characters. One noticable change was the battle between Rimuru and the Dwarf king. In the manga, the king was cautious about Rimuru and reduced to give him respect until Rimuru proved himself in combat. This caused his followers (Shion, Benimaru etc) to get agitated and defensive of their master. Even the dryad Treyni was upset and told the king that she would not tolerate disrespect of the Great Rimuru within her presence wereas in this episode she was just kinda there. They even took out the inner context of the actual fight such as how Rimuru decided not to use any of his powers or auto battle mode as he wanted to fight fair and also how immensely skilled the king actually was. It was by shere luck that Rimuru was able to recongnise the style used and predict the downward swing in order to block it. This made the battle look like another onesided izzukai fight rather than the first humbling experience of Rimuru like it was in the manga. A wake up call that while powerful, Rimuru was not invincable and had much development to do. They also glossed over how many lizard men actually followed Gabiru (hint a lot more than three). Not a "bad" episode, but as a manga read I was disappointed.
They also changed some thing for no visible reason. Like actual size of village for this episode, making hobgoblins way dumber, less useful and with less character than, at least, in manga. Also they missed the part then part of Lizardman joined Rimuru and evolved.
@@xenophacilus5895 u are right on the part that we will not see his skill and gazel himself anymore (from manga perspective dk about the LN) after this episode.. but then again, its a really nice touch for rimuru to develop as a character.. still a good episode nonetheless.. just could be better but i understand they can't fit everything into one episode
An aspect of the confrontation with Benimaru you didn't mention, If Benimaru had killed the then-soon-to-be Geld, he would have been betraying Rimaru, after Rimaru declared he had taken the Orc's sin onto himself. Benimaru followed a samurai's Bushido of placing the whims of his master above his personal biases.
I have come to love and enjoy this anime so much after watching just the first 3 episodes. It is perfect for our turbulent times since it is an allegory of what it would be like when entities of various races work together in harmony. So refreshing!
I wouldn't agree that other species had an obligation to help the orcs. For one, they probably didn't even know about it until the orcs' army marched into the forest - it is said that Geld had to cross the desert in order to search for food. That's when Gelmud found him. For all we know, the entire forest might have just been going about their usual day, when suddenly a 200,000 strong army knocks on their door, start killing everyone and eating their corpses. This COULD be argued if Geld actually reached the forest and pleaded with other groups/species/villages to help them, but they all refused - but this brings me to another point. We are talking about 150,000 orcs, and that's AFTER the war. From what we've seen, until Rimuru surfaced in the Goblin village, the entire area was just an undeveloped forest - which means no farms, no livestock, probably just hunting and foraging. Even an agricultural village will be hardly able to support several hundred additional people just like that, and we're talking over hundred THOUSAND. Now, would cooperation between different species be beneficial? As we can clearly see, obviously yes. However what was needed was a capable leader with knowledge about diplomacy, development and enough strength to subdue the different people. Before Rimuru took charge of the forest, there wasn't really anyone like that, so expecting all of the species in the forest to get around in a circle, sing "Kumbayah" and help tens of thousands of people just out of goodness of their heart, where they probably had enough problems of their own (the goblin village was about to be destroyed by the wolves if you remember the beginning) is a little unfair I believe.
Making powerful servants and having past enemies become laborers for their crimes, becoming a chancellor of multiple races of monsters, creating a nation from servants labor and making treaties with a neighboring King from a duel... Rimuru is definitely going places! That new opening is super good too!
Oh my God I can't believe it we finally got a new opening and this opening is so freaking sick mainly because there's so much happening and I can't wait to see it actually in the show so many new characters new locations I just can't wait
Man, this episode had a lot of goodies in it. My favorite touch was Rimeru taking the time to name each...and....very orc in the group, so that they could benefit from the upgrade to High Orc. The Treaty between Rimeru and the King was also very pleasing, because it shows Rimeru has mad skills at diplomacy.
Like Benimaru said, for monsters it’s survival of the fittest so I think all of the events happened naturally. Plus Geld was trying to get more food possibly from other nations only until Gelmud got to him.
The Dwarf King was disrespectful. He came to rimuru's land with hundreds of a soldiers, looks down on rimiru, and then suddenly challenges him too a fight. For a king it was very undiplomatic.
Damn Rimuru is on a role now the real test is keeping what is his from those that would come to destroy it. He beat this world's version of Ganon/Ganaondorf which now I see the Demon Lord Geld shares so many similarities with the Wind Waker's incarnation of Ganondorf. Also I wish someone would do an AMV of Veldora, Ifrit, Geld, and most definitely Shizuka in song Look Through My Eyes by Phil Collins it goes so well as all of them are living through Rimuru. I'm Definetly going to buy the light novel and manga when this anime is over.
I like Rimuru better than Ainz, because unlike Ainz, Rimuru still has the Ability to become stronger. Ainz is already at his Limit, he can "only" get more underlings, land and maybe some spells or special items. Rimuru on the other hand litteraly started with nothing but a few superstrong skills. I mean look at the Goblin Village form when Rimuru first visited to now! If that isn't growth, i don't know what is!
Umm i just liked the fact that gobta is on the lineup at 8:40. Not that I'm underestimating him, it's just that he's prob an important character that he's included there
Wasn't there also suppose to be more lizard men following Gabiru. They make it seem like only three lizard men follow him, but in the manga there was a whole group.
It's ironic to see a group of creatures has problems in this anime as rimuru saw them pigs has a hunger problems alligators has trust issues with their society a dwarf that haste to create swords goblins that gets bullied wolves that wants to rule a forest and a dragon that cant do anything anymore
@@pokemonfanmario7694 it is possible for ains to counter it as for a example ains has not ever used every single ability he has so it's possible he has something that can counter it and for rimiru maybe he can beat ains or atleast hold his own once he actually knows the full Extent of his powers and at his best at the end of series but then again it's also possible he doesn't get that powerfull
@@pokemonfanmario7694 not very surprised if he keeps absorbing ppl yeah he's gonna end up being the most op character in his world , btw I have not read the manga on this show , but if I had to guess they both have a chance to beat each other if they both are at their strongest, now if we have rimuru at his current in the anime his best shot is his predator skill but then again ains could counter it with some unknown abilty as we don't really know Every skill ains can use
I'm a year late but I just wanted to say that in the LN it actually shows the reason why they were starving. To put it quickly they were located in an area that is between 3 different countries and could not work for one without being targeted by the others
The way you talk about it at about 5:00 makes it sound like the author took inspiration from the creation of the ECSC after WWII were the idea was to "make war not only unthinkable, but also materially impossible".
I wish that chibi would review manga because tbh I really enjoy this guy talking and explaining what he thinks about this, but I'm pretty sure that chibi will only go ahead with anime maybe he'll read manga or he already did but keeps this for himself and that's little sad but chibi keep it up I really enjoy your videos and appreciate that you're making them. Have a good one (anyone who's reading this)
I like how you forgot to mention that Rimuru named a 150k orcs all in one sitting, especially when he barely named a few hundred goblins before and 6 orgres. Reverse bone daddy got extra beefy after that demon lord kill.
@@aiya5777 10 days and after he went to sleep mode. Even if it is between the 3 days rest mode that he gets, that's 3 full days of naming A 150 Thousand monsters! Orcs are a D class monster. They are not above Ogres which are B class, But they are certainly above Goblins which are F class monsters. Might i remind you that he only named 6 Ogres before and went in rest mode, Before that he named a 100 goblins plus Ranga (which you can claim that dire wolfs also named all at once) so about 200 goblins and went in sleep mode for 3 days. My main man Rimuru is all types of beefy now.
Also his naming skills are truly impressive. I mean really how in the heck do you know and create so many names. For me after just thinking up a hundred names would be torture that will take a few hours of my life.
@@alexvolo7279 go read the manga , rimuru named these orcs by mountain 1 mountain 2 mountain 3 mountain 4 river 1 river 2 river 3 lake 1 lake 2 lake 3 lake 4 yellow 1 yellow 2 yellow 3 green 1 green 2 tree 1 tree 2 or smthn like that lol the only orc who gets a proper name is the orc disaster's son , he named him geld .
I can't wait to see what happens next I hope that a human ends up joining the team that would be freaking cool. It would also be interesting to see how he handles that
I remember that it used to be 15.000 orcs, and that they needed to be named or else they would die from starvation and lack of magicules because they didn't have the starve effect on them by the Orc disaster Geld, and when the Dwarven King fought Rimiru he also used a passive paralyzing ability to test Rimirus determination. And I believe that the Forest was turned into a Country through paper work instead of just a drunken chit-chat, and it was named the Rimuru Tempest Country instead of the Tempest Juda forest, and the Goblin Elder was ambarassed about this instead of being drunkenly joyful about it
"Lizardmen or the Goblins"... Normally I would've laughed at the thought of Goblins rising up against other species but after Goblin Slayer I wouldn't dare
Rimuru sounds like jesus when talking about eating the sins of the orcs and the way he defended them by saying any leader would do the same to help their species.
A breath of fresh air in a world dominated by anime that revolve around war and domination of other races. So far, Rimuru's enemies have become his friends. This is an anime that embodies this quote from Abraham Lincoln: "Do I not destroy my enemies when I make them my friends?" This value seems to have been lost in time. May this show somehow remind us on how beautiful this world can be if we all work together.
My only problem with the new opening is that they tried to make Ramiris look like a badass. Bullshit! No matter how useful she is, she will always be a fool! Ps: I really do love Ramiris though :)
this is because starved as an hability creates hunger on the people that have it as they were starving. thats why the orc lord said he was not hungry anymore and another thing is that its not explained on the anime is that rimuru stopped the orc lord in the middle of the transformation to demon king. which , would it happen ,the orc lord would probably had the hability to defeat rimuru
The episode was good but personally I liked the immovable wall King Gazel was shown to be in the manga. Despite all of his attacks Gazel easily blocked them without moving a single step, but that is just a personal gripe of mine. I am kind of worried for the anime now however as they are gonna rush past some things with one eight episodes to go. Episode 24 is apparently going to be something like an OVA since my favorite demon butler Diablo appears and then we also get Veldoras diaries as well.
i really liked this but there is one thing that I'm not so sure about it was not the fault of the jara forest monsters because the orcs came from a region out side of the forest thus why the orcs traveled to the forest in the first place.
Pulling from our own history again, and I know this particular section may be a bit touchy, however the events that happened with the Orcs leading up to the Orc Disaster in a way mirrors the state of Germany after WWI leading to WWII. Before anyone gets on my case, let me explain. After WWI, the treaty of Versailles forced Germany to pay for damages of the war, leading to a massive economic depression in the nation. This, in turn, contributed to the rise of the Socialist party and the start of WWII. What Rhimaru does with the Orcs after the war mirrors what happened after WWII ended, where Germany was still held responsible, but they were not forced into another economic decline (I know this is a massive simplified version of history, but the actual events are much more complicated than I am able to fully explain).

I'm not liking the manga too much. I think I should check the LN out later.
Need more Raph.. episode needs to be 60% her cuteness 30% her scolding Naofumi and 10% Naofumi kicking ass..
Episode one was awesome.
Dragonblade722 also gazel’s extra skill “heroic presence” made rimuru shooked !
I don't actually mind that they didn't show "Heroes Pressense" in the anime... just cause we kinda never see it again in the manga xD
They also changed some thing for no visible reason. Like actual size of village for this episode, making hobgoblins way dumber, less useful and with less character than, at least, in manga. Also they missed the part then part of Lizardman joined Rimuru and evolved.
@@madzaisa that would definitely be next episode... this episode prolly more to the development of tempest and alliances (politics) etc.
NEXT TIME "HOW TO TAME A DEMON LORD"
Yes, that is quite accurate.
I can’t even put in to words how much I love this anime
Me too.
Im gonna miss Mountan M23
Lake 24F is the best grill
Rimuru is the chancellor .... INFINITE POWER!!!!!
The new intro of this series feels so uplifting so relaxing.
Agreed
Oh my God I can't believe it we finally got a new opening and this opening is so freaking sick mainly because there's so much happening and I can't wait to see it actually in the show so many new characters new locations I just can't wait
Man, this episode had a lot of goodies in it. My favorite touch was Rimeru taking the time to name each...and....very orc in the group, so that they could benefit from the upgrade to High Orc. The Treaty between Rimeru and the King was also very pleasing, because it shows Rimeru has mad skills at diplomacy.
I never knew that I would say this but

Yh, Rimuru's new best friend :)
I like how the characters in a show are more logical then 20% of the world
Just love this anime so much, the studio really gave it justice, cant wait for the figurines I ordered
You failed to mention a huge plot development revealed by the dwarf king. "The war" ended thanks to the cooperation of several "superior majin".
The manga was a bit more detailed with the Kings Intentions.
That and you have to like the character.
Rimiru Tempest, the Iron Chancellor. Uniting the Jura Forest under 1 flag

Didn’t it look like the king was evolved? Like it happen off screen for them

pigs has a hunger problems
alligators has trust issues with their society
a dwarf that haste to create swords
goblins that gets bullied
wolves that wants to rule a forest

I'm a year late but I just wanted to say that in the LN it actually shows the reason why they were starving. To put it quickly they were located in an area that is between 3 different countries and could not work for one without being targeted by the others
Rimuru kindness makes a marvelous nation within monsters is absolutely fantastic.
Love that their making the anime. Already read most of the novel and I'm pretty excited for some scenes.
Have a good one (anyone who's reading this)
I'm also off on Monday so it's safe to say Monday will be my favorite day of the week :)
I hope this becomes a long running anime, because this is an awesome show
I think Benimaru is more forgiving than Rimuru after reading the novels. The difference in their responses to losing there people truly shows that.
I like how you forgot to mention that Rimuru named a 150k orcs all in one sitting, especially when he barely named a few hundred goblins before and 6 orgres. Reverse bone daddy got extra beefy after that demon lord kill.
it took him 10 days , did u miss it?
For me after just thinking up a hundred names would be torture that will take a few hours of my life.

he named him geld .
I can't wait to see what happens next I hope that a human ends up joining the team that would be freaking cool. It would also be interesting to see how he handles that
We really are being blessed this season
I remember that it used to be 15.000 orcs, and that they needed to be named or else they would die from starvation and lack of magicules because they didn't have the starve effect on them by the Orc disaster Geld, and when the Dwarven King fought Rimiru he also used a passive paralyzing ability to test Rimirus determination. And I believe that the Forest was turned into a Country through paper work instead of just a drunken chit-chat, and it was named the Rimuru Tempest Country instead of the Tempest Juda forest, and the Goblin Elder was ambarassed about this instead of being drunkenly joyful about it
I love seeing the village get better and better
I'm surprised that the dryad lady isn't complaining about the chunk of the Great Forest of Jura that seems to have been clear cut! 😂
the thing is the jura forest is *really* huge
150k orc works reminds me of warcraft 3. "ready for work"

Rimuru sounds like jesus when talking about eating the sins of the orcs and the way he defended them by saying any leader would do the same to help their species.

Rimuru is building quite the army! 😎💙
I'm in love with this anime
My only problem with the new opening is that they tried to make Ramiris look like a badass. Bullshit! No matter how useful she is, she will always be a fool!

Best girl apears next week
Monday Wednesday Friday and Saturday lol best anime season by far, makes waiting for new episodes and the week go by like a blur
After watching this episode I think someone needs to make a Civilization V mod that allows us to play as a slime XD
this is because starved as an hability creates hunger on the people that have it as they were starving. thats why the orc lord said he was not hungry anymore and another thing is that its not explained on the anime is that rimuru stopped the orc lord in the middle of the transformation to demon king. which , would it happen ,the orc lord would probably had the hability to defeat rimuru
Great review but you forgot to mention the best charakter of the show is up next in the upcoming episode . :D I just can't wait for her...

it'll be the next big controversy lol
I found it funny how slime boy is stoked for the bath to be finished because we all know what his true intentions are for that bath😉😏😏😉
chibi you missed a very important exchange involving the reactions of the Kijin(evolved ogres) and the dwarf kings guards
i really liked this but there is one thing that I'm not so sure about it was not the fault of the jara forest monsters because the orcs came from a region out side of the forest thus why the orcs traveled to the forest in the first place.
The dwarven king let them exist? Let's be real here..... the dwarves would have been smashed to pieces
What Rhimaru does with the Orcs after the war mirrors what happened after WWII ended, where Germany was still held responsible, but they were not forced into another economic decline (I know this is a massive simplified version of history, but the actual events are much more complicated than I am able to fully explain).
not to mention , the orc king - geld's name means money in german
