Kezza, mate. I'm a hobby turner in the beautiful Hunter Valley and I really enjoy your you tube channel. Please, please don't change a bloody thing about the way you present yourself or your work. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I am in the unenviable position where I don't do well in group settings, like Men's Shed or clubs due to social dyslexia, so I rely on folks like you and Richard Raffan to be my teachers. I have learned all my turning in this manner and have a ball doing it, so thank you, mate for being there for us . Cheers
Thank you so much, Ron. This means the world to me. I firmly believe in that saying: if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. So thank you so much. Thanks again, Ron. Cheers, Kez
100% love the mistakes that you make. We all do and it makes the video's real (and funny as heck lol). Another great video and thumbs up to the Canadian Tire comment :)
Geez mate - you just keep on doing what you are doing. It is so refreshing to have a natural person on the video. And by the way, if ever the wood turning falls over i think you have big future in stand up comedy. I am rolling around on the floor at this tools show. Cheers
Thanks so much Ray I really appreciate it mate. I’ll try and film a few more of these videos. I’m waiting back on a couple of professional Woodturners about a few tips that I’ve asked them. I will keep you posted mate🙏 You guys are the reason why I’m able to be myself and that is what gives me the conference, so thank you mate🤝 Cheers Ray. Kezza

Good info. As a former teacher every year I needed one I went to the lost and found after school ended and took a gym shoe left by a student. Actually, they were available after a week or so into school, but I always waited to the end of school.

Great vid, Kerry. Thank you. Aside from the great work you do, one of the reasons I subscribed to your channel is for those "imperfections" you mentioned (dropping things,/stumbling over words/what some consider "unpolished" stuff) because we ALL do that (I excel in "unpolished") and it's nice to see it on your channel because it's REAL. I often find those super-slick channels to be quite off-putting, to be honest and your channel is really refreshing. Keep doing what you're doing, buddy. Cheers from Canada!👍

Hi Kezz. this was absolutely your best and most entertaining video so far, and among all wood turning videos something I have enjoyed most. Great tips and ideas, have to watch again and make list of those I don't have so far. 😂 Funny though yesterday my husband was wearing similar protective pants for chain saw work and looked at me and asked whether I would be comfortable wearing them. I said they seem to fit, so chain saw lesson is on the way. 😊 Also wanted to comment that you said you take your wood chips to animal shelter sometimes. I have a horse and the bedding is super expensive at the moment so I collect my wood chips and take them to the stables. Toxic wood species would go to compost, horses are sensitive. Sometimes I have seen people comment the amount of wood wasted and they do not realize that someone needs that for a good purpose. If I sand items that have varnish on or like the PVA glue used, I separate that dust as I don't want to put any micro plastic to beddings that end up in farming fields eventually. I have similar type of soft brush to clean the floor, it has 70cm wide brush. Exactly the same width between the posts in my lathe stand. Having that makes me clean several times a day because it's so satisfying... like magic cleaning all away with just a stroke. 😂 So that is your rake and brush combined. As a lady of the house I cringed on the comments about kitchenware... My husband took some old plastic jugs to the workshop. They were retro plastic items from the 70's and collectors pay big sums (like 50€) for them. So they belong to _my_ workshop so I can so them off in my future youtube videos. 😂😂😂 (I haven't made any videos yet but when I get to that point I think they may be as funny as yours, real life and real people are interesting, and you get more out of them. The chaos workshop must be organized before I dare to shoot any videos there.) Thanks for brightening my day with this video. Cheers, - Saara
G'day Saara, Thank you so much for your feedback. Means a lot to me, knowing I can lend a hand in some way. So, thank you. I had a real blast putting this video together, and I'm already thinking about rustling up a few more, just some straightforward lists and sharing my two cents with anyone keen enough to listen, Haha. Now, when it comes to gear, you've gotta make sure you've got those chainsaw chaps, no doubt about it. And don't forget your eye and ear protection, that's an absolute must. You'll find heaps of top-notch videos on chainsaws on TH-cam; they were a real lifesaver for me when I started out. You've hit the nail on the head with the safety reminder about wood shavings - those can be really pesky and toxic at times. Soft bristles, mate, they're the way to go. My old brush has seen better days; it's starting to look like a moustache split down the middle, it's that worn out! Hahah. Ah, "The Tuppawear," you've got it right. That's why I had to chuck in that safety note about using the ol' Tuppawear and being aware of the hidden dangers. Hahah. I reckon it's a ripper idea for everyone to document their stuff and throw it up on TH-cam. I've got a Q&A session in the pipeline, and I'll be dishing out some tips on TH-cam and video-making, so keep an eye out for that one. Thanks a heap for tuning in, Saara. Your support means the world to me, mate. Cheers, Kezza

Kerry, thanks for making such refreshing, entertaining videos. It's great to hear from a fellow Australian, offering advice on local species and products available on the Aussie market. I've only been turning for a year or so, and am trying to better my skills and to convince the missus that I need to upgrade from my little Sherwood Mini lathe! Keep up the great work mate. Great job, plea see e keep posting. I have a battery chainsaw. No cord :) But both are great for running a chainsaw in the house. (Basement , in my woodturning shop, under the wife's kitchen)
Heh big guy. Shops all over the world need all of those things. You left one major one out though. The fridge for the beer after a long hot day in the shop
@@KerryCorney merry, we are up here working with the kids again and a topic hit me. Nervousness is making the kids white knuckle and put to much tension on the tools. Showing how to get a better cut through relaxing their opposite hand whether left or right handed is working. Another part of technique I guess. Have a great one. Rod
Excellent vid bud! Very well made. Also, great advice for sourcing timber. I've always used plain Ole Elmer's glue for sealing up my work. I usually give it 2 coats. But for me. It works well. And it's really inexpensive.
How nice was that thanks at the end. A sugestion/alternative to your pva brush and tupawear. Use a gloss paint roller and tray (150mm ish) but with longer fibres. Quicker to coat bowl end grain and less brush drag. Afterwards put the brush and roller in azip lock bag out of direct sun. No brush cleaning. Just a thought.
Hi Kerry, I really like your videos. They are very informative. I am wondering where you got your turning smock? I really like the pockets on the shoulders. Thank you.
So sorry for the late reply mate. I’ve purchased these smocks from woodcut tools, New Zealand. If you use Kerry5 when you go through, check it get a discount. That’s just recently happened by the way. Cheers mate, all the best
Thanks so much. I use the bowl saver mM four from Woodcut tools. I made a mini series on it if you would like to check it out th-cam.com/video/kiSyVPkYzeU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LrvgfbvROJGryhFH
No matter what subject I am watching on TH-cam I like the raw and natural. all the mistakes, the dog knocking over the camera that kind of thing. I think some of that could be a benefit. One person I watched did leather work demos and his daughter would sneak up behind him when he was on camera and do rabbit ears with her hand behind his head. I got to watching to see were she would pop up next. setting up the camera and letting it run and putting it out there is great. look for you on the next one.
I may have to give ya a hard time at some point just to keep a brother-in-arms on his toes. Lol 😂 And yes, I know my wife hates it when I use the wrong Tupperware. Lol 😂

Great job, plea see e keep posting. I have a battery chainsaw. No cord :) But both are great for running a chainsaw in the house. (Basement , in my woodturning shop, under the wife's kitchen)
Thanks for watching, mate. I also have a battery saw. Handy tools to have, for sure. Stay safe.
Cheers, Kevin.

Heh big guy. Shops all over the world need all of those things. You left one major one out though. The fridge for the beer after a long hot day in the shop
Oh for sure, that's a key ingredient👌cheers Rod🍻

@@KerryCorney merry, we are up here working with the kids again and a topic hit me. Nervousness is making the kids white knuckle and put to much tension on the tools. Showing how to get a better cut through relaxing their opposite hand whether left or right handed is working. Another part of technique I guess. Have a great one. Rod
Excellent vid bud! Very well made. Also, great advice for sourcing timber. I've always used plain Ole Elmer's glue for sealing up my work. I usually give it 2 coats. But for me. It works well. And it's really inexpensive.
Thank you so much for the support, mate. I've heard of that brand. Hey, if the wheel ain't broken, don't fix it.
Cheers, brother.
Where did you get your wood turning jacket from ?
Hi Isabell, it's from Woodcut Tools, I haven't put the logos on yet. Are you from Australia?
Yes , I'm an ex Brisbane resident , but now I live near Burnie in Tasmania , using all the exotic timbers here . I really enjoy your vlogs .
Chris, you are a genius. Thank you, mate. I really appreciate the support, mate. Thank you.

P.S. I meant every word.
Your welcome but I nicked the idea from Jim Sprague in Canada, someone else I follow.
Lots of great suggestion! Thank you.
What coring system do you use?
Thanks so much. I use the bowl saver mM four from Woodcut tools.
I made a mini series on it if you would like to check it out th-cam.com/video/kiSyVPkYzeU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LrvgfbvROJGryhFH
@@KerryCorney Thank you! I will check it out.
For the sanding disc rubber block cleaner, I screwed mine to the edge of the workbench.
I have another that I can pick up and carry around.
Thanks for sharing, mate. That's a nifty trick. It would definitely make it easier to find, for sure. Cheers, Kez.
The old rabbit ears trick will never get old, hahah. Thank you so much for the support, Bruce.
Cheers

I may have to give ya a hard time at some point just to keep a brother-in-arms on his toes. Lol 😂
And yes, I know my wife hates it when I use the wrong Tupperware. Lol 😂
I’m looking forward to it, don’t worry 😂😎
I had to include that as a safety note. Cheers mate.
I always keep my pencils in one place too.
For sure👌🙏
👍👍👍
Cheers Nico.
Ha ha I have experienced the Tupperware rage first hand, not recommended for sure
😂Safety note taken! 👌🤙
