- Smash Ultimate got a lot of DLC, but what if Fighters Pass 3 actually happened? What if EVERY character got new alternate costumes, if we an echo fighter pass or even crazier DLC ideas? Before we leave Smash Ultimate in the past let's take one more deep dive into the rejected DLC ideas that never happened.

it was stated by the monster hunter team that the monsters are the real mascots of the franchise, not the hunters

I would have loved to see Steve perfectly emulating a Minecraft player acting through his Minecraft character in cutscenes. Like how he would sneak and walk back, taking out his sword and bringing out his shield only to then jump run to the opponent trying to land critical hits. Absolutely hilarious yet makes you feel right at home with such character.

Byleth’s “gimmick” is that they can alternate between like 6 weapons that was the point of the announcement trainer they even made fun of the “two many swordsman” criticism
It’s kinda stupid though because it doesn’t even line up with what Byleth does in the game. The Sword of the Creator is the one weapon that Byleth has the divine ability to wield. They kind of allude to this in the trailer but those other weapons (axe, bow, spear) cannot be used by anybody except their one specific target person, being the house leaders.
I still think Edelgard was the right choice if we had to do a Three Houses rep. She uses an axe which is different from other characters and is also kind of a villain.
Speaking of FE villains, Black Knight echo for Ike would be relatively uncontroversial and cool

I always say this, but my number one issue with World of Light is the fact that it has no platforming. Melee and Brawl already pretty well established that this was the key gameplay element setting it apart from the other modes, and after being absent in Smash4, Ultimate finally brings it back only to completely gut it of that element, making it nothing but a series of vs. matches against other playable characters (just like 90% of the rest of the game....... and it's only made even more redundant since Spirit Board exists). If we do somehow manage to get another Adventure Mode in Ultimate, I don't care how much or how little storyline there is...... hell, World of Light has an extremely basic, hands-off story as is (with the opening cutscene being the only really awesome part...... and they already spoiled it in the Direct)....... just give me some god damn platforming stages, and all is forgiven. Or, at the very least, let us be able to rebattle the bosses.

Aside from the final boss In the subspace emissary, which was unnecessarily difficult I really have pretty fond memories of that adventure mode: the dark atmosphere, soundtrack, bosses, the cool character designs, the story…. But then they had to ruin it by making Tabuu op af

The idea my friends and I had for a Pokémon dlc is Ogerpon, having it be normally grass based, with its smash attacks being fire f smash, water up smash, rock down smash, and making its neutral b be similar to monado arts with the different masks
For me is Koraidon along Solgaleo as Fighters, Koraidon Final Smash would be The fighters getting hitted by The paradox primal pokemon whose Final Attack would have Walking Wake, Gouging Fire and Raging Bolt
With these 3 Paradox pokemon rushing and Using their claws as Walking Wake using His Claws, his 2 Tails, Raging Bolt Slamming and then Gouging Fire whose starts to ram the Fighters and then Use his Shield to burn until Koraidon turns onto a Wheel and Makes the fighters starts to Fly away from the Screen hitting the 4th Wall so hard that causes the cracks to break fully
Honestly I have this perfect vision where Diddy and Dixie are paired together, and the swap animation would obviously need to be different from the Pokeballs or the aegis swap, so the animation would simply be a high five to tag in before the other you were using before Despawn after a couple of frames, it would fit perfectly with the characters and wouldn't be too intrusive like the sheik Zelda transformation
That’s ironically what was planned in Brawl. Sakurai confirmed it a long time ago. But they only had time for one, and went with Diddy.
I used to play this game with my cousin (he somehow broke the game not the Nintendo switch just the game) And I actually remember how much I liked it so I'm asking for it for Christmas, It's gonna be mad nostalgic😊

Recently got sone remakes and the series has always needed a push to actually get made
We got Klonoa 1+2 here plus the volley ball spin off but the handheld platformers and RPG require fan translations and one was on a Japanese exclusive console
The phantom reverie was a good start but smash could actually give the guy a real change since 2002

I would prefer a Tales Of rep if we were getting another Namco Bandai rep honestly. Lloyd Irving or Yuri Lowell would be perfect for Smash.
I really don't want Meowscarada to be added, because we already have a Dark Type Bipedal Feline Pokemon (Incineroar).
You missed out including some echo fighters for Mega Man, like X and Zero from Mega Man X, as well as Volnutt from Legends.
WOL is a story mode with characters interacting that was the point of the intro cutscene it does have cut scenes

I don’t know why some people think they’ll drastically cut the roster. Same for a reboot I mean it would sell badly as it’s a bad deal and people would play the old game. Still change fighters but don’t cut the roster drastically honestly most characters should always stay if not all as it just makes the game more valuable.

I had an idea about a campaign mode too.
Crash Bandicoot is the most baffling omission to me. He was rivals with Mario and Sonic in the 90s, he has a limitless moveset, he’s a silly cartoon platforming character (which is a very popular archetype among character requests), and he’s popular in both America AND Japan! He’s as popular as he is today BECAUSE of his success in Japan! Nintendo themselves have admitted he’s a gaming icon!
The guy in the Crash suit yelling at Nintendo HQ with a megaphone from those old commercials could’ve been a hilarious Mii costume. Heck, Crash getting REVEALED as a DLC character could’ve utilized the Crash suit with the other Nintendo character suits from the original Smash 64 commercial! Crash was one of the *easiest* locks for Smash Ultimate and it’s absolutely shocking to see him get ZERO representation! 😓
Classic Sonic alt for the blue blur feels like it should be pretty easy.
What about Sonics armour from Sonic and The Black Night?
Maybe the real dlc was the friends we made along the way
I was expecting some info on Bomberman. I didn't know Rayman was not popular in Japan, in my mind Rayman, Bomberman and Crash were the absolute needed options, at least from previous hype. I really wanted Ghirarim, but slim chances now that SS remake has been out.
The fighters passes' 1st party to 3rd party ratio was not half and half, FP1 was 1/5 1st party and FP2 was 2/6 1st party.
People were literally screaming and crying when Daisy got in, sure some out of hate but most out of love and dreams being fulfilled
Siiroth, Alear could still happen. Although, they could have reps for all four of the Kingdoms in Smash; Celine for Firene, Alcryst for Brodia, Ivy for Elusia, and Timerra for Solm.

Ok. But if you do have 5 tories. the 5th story has to have a Smash Original Character. I mean We could Harness Taboo's Moveset into a Character
For the monster hunter it would have to be a side character, since the mc is a create a character.
I think the hunters will have to be treated like fire emblem every monster have different weapons they will need their own slots and they all have different outfits.
I know sans will never happen but I could think of an entire move set and if he does end up being dlc he could have a dodge gimmick when if he dodges too much than he would get tired and fall asleep so you need to get good without using rolls or air dodges side b could be sending bones out at the opponent and you could charge up a gaster blaster for neutral b throws could use sand’s control of the blue soul his final smash could be his last attack and depending on the character what should be the red soul could be the character stock icon. Again I know this wouldn’t happen I just wish it would

If there could've been a Fighter Pass 3, I'd go with Lloyd Irving, Dr. Eggman, Meowscarada, Crash, and Dante.
I've also though quite a bit about that story thing too though. I think a good way around that is if you add quite a bit of randomization to the story mode. That way anyone who watches it online knows for a fact that they are still missing out because some aspects could randomly be decided for them specifically if they were to try. The real question would be how to implement such a thing.......

No Crisis Core content at all in Smash? Hey, you know what else has no content in Smash? LITERALLY EVERY OTHER FUCKING FINAL FANTASY THAT ISN'T VII!!!! .......sorry. I just really, really, REALLY despise people who constantly suggest that we somehow need a third Final Fantasy character from the same damn entry. Seriously, fuck off with that. I don't care how "iconic" Zack or Tifa is, and hell, the fact that other characters got Mii costumes is already more than enough after Sephiroth (who himself came with the FF7 content that everyone thought was so absent since Smash4). But come on, if Square Enix actually budges on giving Smash more Final Fantasy content, I really want it to be from another numbered entry, or even a spin-off. Incidentally, VI is my personal favorite, and it just hurts me to know that Sakurai actually brought Terra up as a potential consideration, though I'd also be cool with something like Warrior of Light, Vivi, Chocobo, or even a blatant XVI advertisement. Incidentally, with the recent release of the Pixel Remasters, now's probably as good a time as any to include a character from one of the classic 2D FInal Fantasy games.

I Really hope that Meowscarada/ possibly fully evolved grass starter Pokémon of gen 10 joins for Next smash bros game/possible smash Ultimate Deluxe port so we can finally get a fully evolved grass starter Pokémon in smash bros as a fighter for once and hopefully this time unlike Decidueye which Sakurai said that he goes to go with Him for Gen 7 rep but he Picked Incinaroar instead because of Incinaroar being A heel wrester Fighter. By the time it arrives Gen 10 will be the current generation for the Pokémon Franchise.
Why wasn't Ryu Hayabusa mentioned? Ninja Gaiden is one of the classics of the NES and SNES era of Nintendo and would translate very well into Smash. I've wanted him to be added all the way back when Super Smash Bros Brawl was announced. He should have at least been an honourable mention on the list.
with the highest of keys I have, Alear could actually be really awesome especially if they fully embrace the Emblem mechanics and have her change movesets entirely depending on who she has engaged with rn. I'd love that

I think one thing we need is a character that would shock the nation, sure not everyone would do that however there would be certain characters that would, if we look at Banjo & Steve for example, they’re Microsoft characters and while they weren’t that shocking since they were both demanded the fact it happened was shocking but take it a step further and go for a character that has no history with Nintendo aside for the company, a Sony character, yeah that may be crazy to think about but since Sony has no interest in doing a PSAS2 and how Sony are nowadays thanks to Jim Ryan, it would make sense to try and rebuild their fanbase by having one of their characters join Smash and while Kratos or Ratchet & Clank make the most sense no other character has the best chance from Sony to get in than Sly Cooper as Sucker Punch are the only guys at Sony to have a game on a Nintendo console with Rocket: Robot on Wheels for the N64 and while Rocket would make better sense, Sly is like the most iconic character from Sucker Punch to get in

You have to remember pokemon games have only been 3D since 2013 that’s pretty recent compared to other games like Zelda that have been 3D since the 90s and early 2000s so obviously they’re gonna be behind Mixed with the fact that They can’t delay the game because main console for only 5 years compared to Zelda since n64

not every game needs voice acting and if a game wants to do voice acting it should be the developer’s choice the games not having voice acting actually makes them stand out and be unique
Don’t force them to do something they don’t feel comfortable doing yet

And 2 highly requested character and a joke character (like jonesy from fortnite)
