FACTS!!! He was sooooo locked in it was ridiculous! After 5:45 the loop stood out more than everything else in my opinion..... even against the solo, which I actually didn't like too much. But the song itself as a whole is awesome!

Syncopated rhythms aren't the easiest to play by any stretch of the imagination, especially when there are counter rhythms being played in contrast to the main rhythm. Keeping time and knowing where you are is crucial. One miscount, hitting a note too early or too late, will possibly cause a train wreck and ultimately a break down in the song and the show. However, I have seen some damn good musician recover from timing errors and find their way back to the main rhythm with no issues and keep playing like nothing ever happened. This dude Kaz is a true beast with this syncopated playing. This was AWESOME!!!!
I love the fact that this man uses powerstroke 4 clears on his toms. The secret weapon to making your toms sound huge is using those on the top and then remo diplomats on the bottom since they have a super thin single ply. It makes the head resonate more. with those on the bottom and the PS4C's on the top you get that super huge sound but you can tune it to control it without it sounding overly boomy.
This is some of the best, most insane, and musical drumming I have ever heard.
Please, please get Gavin Harrison on Season 2!
Of all the brilliant songs sput and ghostnote have crafted for these shows, I think this one is my favorite
I read that some people didn't like his solo. Now, I respect that you have your own personal taste, I get it, but I feel that if you look past the technique and look at the actual meaning of this song, it could potentially change your view.
This right here is a song of triumph over grief, darkness, and loss. The beginning is pretty dark and sounds like the soundtrack to a villain getting his way, feeling victorious. As the song progresses, our main character gets his strength back over time, until the solo comes and he finally bursts from his shackles and freely expresses himself, thus destroying the darkness that tried to hold him down.
That's just my interpretation, but if you look deeper than just the surface, you can appreciate this arrangement a lot more. What does this song mean to you? Is this the soundtrack to your life? Have you overcome or are you overcoming a burden?
I love the sound of the cymbal set he uses! They match perfectly. Not to mention the great sound he have on drums!

Although he was very expressionless. Not sure how to take that. Did he enjoy it, did he blank out and the camera caught him as he was trying to remember if he closed the garage, was he bored or was he mildly impressed?
Also there was Aaron spears and Thomas pridgen next to each other and prolly a lot more drummers and other drummers who have a performance in this live jam series since it was all filmed on the same day I believe.

The arrangement is a master piece, so musical and complex and yet too easy to appreciate, the band is a delight for the senses and Kaz is the cherry of the cake, thank you guys for such a musical masterpiece.
Not being much of a Santana fan, I had never heard of this guy before now. This is awesome. Cool song, the Tamas sound great, the cymbals sound great, and this dude's playing was fantastic!!!

Damn talk about a powerful composition. I went through 10 different feelings. I wasn't crazy about the solo but the fact that he kept the groove, stayed in the pocket, transitioned with the story, and put that love in it make it amazing.
SAME! I really wasn't crazy about the solo. I would've liked it more if the solo was more musically in tune with the other instruments and what they were playing. But yea I loved everything else.

Keith Richards Liver Instruments aren't the only thing that can make somebody a musician and autotune is a tool in music, lots of musicians use a tool that synthesizes their voice into certain notes, that's along the same lines as autotune.
