I have loved Kirk's work for decades. Every time I hear a song he has written it is inspiring. Kirk brings wonderful energy and glorifies God through his work.
He’s not a singer, but he is a KILLER musician. Kirk can write a song, assemble a choir, blend voices.....etc. if you don’t know him, you late to the party. Don’t analyze it. Listen to the old stuff and get that Kirk Franklin experience.

27 years ago I bought a CD by an artist named Kirk Franklin about whom I knew nothing. When I heard "Silver and Gold" I sat almost breathless for the entire song. It has accompanied me over the last 3 decades, through the ups and downs, and has kept a very special place in my heart, in my spirit. When they started in on Silver and Gold on Tiny Desk I just lost it. Like seeing a dear friend after many, many years. After witnessing an act of unconditional kindness. Like being wrapped in the arms of love. Like feeling lost in wilderness and then realizing that you are connected to something far greater than yourself. That you are cared for. That YOU care.
THIS IS HOW YOU END A BLACK HISTORY MONTH , Tiny desk you did that 👏🏽. Edit: Every month *IS* black history month, Also Tiny Desk we need more gospel artists to shake the room some more.
There's an argument to be made that Kirk Franklin has run the tightest musical group anywhere on the planet over the last 30 years. Every group he leads is a supremely focused and finely tuned musical making organism. The cohesiveness of a Kirk Franklin led band is unmatched. You could give this dude a quartet of plastic recorders played by 5-yr olds and we'd all still be making our stank face and bobbing up and down.
There is software out there such as Ableton... and there is pitch correcting software as welll.. But I believe they are great singers individually as well

Look for a black church in your area that has a lot of young people lol. Btw there's churches where messianic Jews and Seventh-day Adventist worship together on Sabbath. You might wanna check it out. ☺

I saw Kirk Franklin in Paris years ago. The organizers were late in their schedule. When Kirk Franklin arrived on stage, he warned us he wasn't going to leave before he delivered his message and did is entire set. We left the venue one hour after the official end time. Being MissFlo, I was in Paris some years ago for the March for Jesus parade. At the end of the parade there was a concert, and a French gospel group sang some of Kirk's song in French. I could not believe what I was hearing. This guy has touched the world with his musicality. Undeniably a GOAT.

I saw Kirk Franklin in Paris years ago. The organizers were late in their schedule. When Kirk Franklin arrived on stage, he warned us he wasn't going to leave before he delivered his message and did is entire set. We left the venue one hour after the official end time. Being MissFlo, I was in Paris some years ago for the March for Jesus parade. At the end of the parade there was a concert, and a French gospel group sang some of Kirk's song in French. I could not believe what I was hearing. This guy has touched the world with his musicality. Undeniably a GOAT.
