I could cry right now! 14 years ago I had elbow surgery due to a disease that caused my joint to crumble. When they were cleaning out the debris they nicked my medial nerve. In the process it left over 1/2 my dominant hand numb. I still struggle with loss of function, numbness, and muscle loss in all three fingers. There are spots that are no longer numb but about 1/4 of it is still numb. I did these exercises and my hand felt amazing afterwards!! So glad I looked this up finally, hoping it helps stimulate my nerve and help the healing process along. Thank you!!
1000 THANK YOOS 4 THIS!!! If you do these with proper form, you can physically feel the slide/glide!!! DO you or anyone you know have suggestions on how to Restore pinch strength foe the thumb and index finger? I have Anterior Internoseous Nerve Syndrome. 🤔
The amount of relief I feel after 3 days of doing these specific nerve exercises is incredible! I am currently getting Physical Therapy for a pinched nerve and my PT just added median nerve glides to my list of exercises last week. I found your video to make sure I was performing it correctly and gradually tried each of these nerve exercises as shown. I feel so much better in the past few days and actually getting complete sensation in my index finger which has been numb and tingly for about a month. Such a helpful resource if videos on your channel; Thank you Dr. Jo!! ☺️🙏
I just can't BELIEVE how much these exercises are helping me. I've got carpel tunnel syndrome, and needed to sleep with a hand brace at night.. Since I've been doing these exercises, -- no more brace, and I've gotten very little numbness, if any, during the day. Thanks Doctor Jo!!!
I'm back rewatching this again several months after I thought my nerve problems had resolved. This helps me figure out which nerve is acting up and gives a slight release. Thank you so much Dr. Jo~
This is so so wonderful. I can''t even tell you. Anti-inflammatories and even a cortison shot did nothing. This I feel immediately release that median nerve pain
Wow! My physio had given me a different video to follow for median nerve glides, and this one popped up in my recommended. I am finding these ones much more effective! My wrist is becoming much more mobile and less painful after only two days!
So I had this nerve issue twice already. Few months ago, then did this, it helped me, went away. Now I have it again and do your routine and it helped me immediately. HUGE thanks. ❤ to me this is gold
This video is honestly a life saver! I just went back to work and idk what I did, but my arm just started killing me. I couldn't even sleep because it got worse when I laid down and kept me up all night. I have a 3 month old and didn't feel comfortable trying to pick her up because I couldn't feel my fingertips through the tingling feeling. Just did these and for the first time in DAYS I'm feeling relief! Thank you so much!
I've done these incorrectly on my own (before finding this channel) and "curling fingers" is exactly what it feels like when you've done too much. Good info
2 yeats with trapped nerves in my shoulder and these are working. Amazing i thoiught it was pain i was going to live with for the rest of my life. IT"S WORKING
I have been having a pain in my forearm for years. I thought maybe I have some form of tendonitis. I tried this for about 3 days and the pain was totally gone. I'm so relieved from the relief. I so very appreciate this.
I feel so much better after doing these. I have carpal tunnel in both wrists and it’s making me so tense in my shoulders and arms, like waking up at night moaning in pain if I can sleep at all. I think my splints make me sleep in weird uncomfortable positions which is also making me sore. I also have your carpal tunnel stretch videos saved.
Dr. Jo thank you so much for your instructional videos. I am finding instant relief on almost all the exercises and i cannot explain how thankful i am and lucky to have found your videos on self care! Thank you so much and god bless.
I am waiting to see a nerve specialist after somehow and suddenly damaging brachial plexus, it’s such a worry for me, as I have a weak wrist on my other arm from a fracture years ago already and I use my hands so much for work, yoga and drumming, but I feel these exercises have really helped. Thank you
Excellent. The index finger proximal was getting nerve pain... no numbness at all. I have had sports injuries like detached bicep and 2 shoulder capsule surgeries over the years and they are the cause for sure. This exercise removed the finger pain sensation. TY
Wow I actually felt alot good. I woke up with swelling on my wrist, wasn't even able to hold a glass of water. Gave hot compress on it. Watched a alot of videos but this video has helped me alot. Thank you thank you so much . I am at ease.
For months I've been waking up in the middle of the night with my hand asleep and if I press on a certain part of my ribs or on my neck it will either get better or start burning. I started doing your exercises two days ago and my hand is not waking me up at night. Thank you!
Thank you so much Dr Jo!!! I have been battling with electric-feeling (nerve?) pain in my palm and wrist that I suspected was carpal tunnel and this does genuinely give me relief for a while. I'm seeing a doctor soon but this will keep me from pulling my hair out with discomfort or the inability to do daily tasks. Now i can do things like use a a computer mouse for short periods! I couldn't before with extreme pain. Thank you thank you thank you!!!! Bless you!
Brilliant thank you that pulled. I will do these. I have a compression C5/6 and a thickening of the survical spine. Waiting on surgery. Thank you. Love Light & Peace to you. 🤗😇
Awesome did just the 4 glides/stretches 5 times each and the pain in my upper arm went away. I was not over bearing on the glides/stretches just did it till I felt a little tension and proceeded with the maneuvers. Thanks
@AskDoctor Jo Dear Doctor Jo ! I just watched your video because I am looking for an answer to the problem I have. Namely, 12 days ago I was working alone in the yard doing heavy physical work, carrying bags of heavy items from one former republic to another, and now, on the 10th day, I feel constant tingling in my left hand, especially in the fingers - the fingertips. It’s very persistent, 24/7. I am very worried because I don’t know what to do, I’ve tried exercises, massaging with magnesium oil, warm compresses, creams, B complex, kelp powder, etc., and nothing has really changed, only my little finger has started to function, the other four are still tingling. Could you please tell me what I should do because I know I need to do something, I am damaging the peripheral blood vessels in my fingers. I must add that after coming home from the yard, I fell asleep and laid with that hand under my body, and during the night, I felt the tingling starting, but I was in a deep sleep and just kept sleeping, ignoring the tingling. Since the next day, it hasn’t stopped, as I said, only the little finger managed to return to normal, but the other four still have tingling. I would be very grateful if you could write what I should do and how to proceed in this terrible situation. I don’t have any pain below my elbow, only tingling. Thank you.
Thanks! I do have worksheets for many of my videos, but unfortunately, I don't have one for this video right now. I am working on getting one for all my videos though.
Dr. Jo you are wonderful. I consult your vids for my therapy patients and they have really come in handy as i can SHOW them your video as well manually instruct. Thank you.
I have a question. I only feel this kind of pain in my right arm when training. Should I do these nerve glides in both arms for balance or just the right?
Hi Dr. Jo! Your are such a blessing, I have never felt better. I have a daily routine made up of several of your videos, the pain relief is amazing. Would you please show how to stretch the lower shoulder blade area, (my massage therapist said it was the Teres Minor and Lattismus Dorsi.) Thank you!!!

Hi Dr Jo I have a pinched nerve in shoulder blade. Had it for 14 weeks plus. I have had it diagnosed by professionals. Its getting better but very slow. Work doesnt help as im a hairdresser. Hey thank you for a great video I've been diagnosed with work related upper limb disorder and recommend to do these. How many times a day should I do these please?
Hello Dr. Jo, thank you for this video as well as your videos for other nerve flossing. Do you by chance have a video on how to properly stretch scalene muscles? Mine get tight every day at some point during my work in an office and it causes me great pain and discomfort to my brachial plexus and nerves.
Hi Dr Jo, I have subscribed to this great channel. 3 years ago, I fell sideways hitting my head hard on the ground and immediately had a sharp pain 0n the neck and numbness on whole right arm. With time, the numbness reduced but for the last 2 years the right thumb and part of index finger remain numb. The thumb sometimes has a sharp pain and it has been this way. My doctor said the nerve on the neck was pinched on the fall and the numbness would take a while to heal. What exercises can I do to help and possibly speedup recovery? Thank you!
Thanks! I have a video for a pinched nerve in the neck, and I have a video for radial nerve glides (the nerve that innervates the thumb and index finger), as well these for the median nerve. You can find the other ones on my channel: th-cam.com/users/askdoctorjo
Hello Doc Jo, Please guide me. I always have mild pain on my left side (left shoulder, left back, tricep, and I feel it travels down to my ring finger. Sometimes I have mild swelling on the neck (front left side). Recently, my ring finger was bent automatically and I could not straighten it up. Doctor said it is due to pressure or injury to soft tissues. Apart from this I have Acid Reflux. Pease let me know if all these could be connected? I showed to ENT specialist and other doctors, they said it is pinched nerve. But then it keeps coming and going. Please advise. Thank you so much. I am so happy to find your channel and trying nerve glides demonstrated by you. Thank you and regards, Sayalee from India
Thank you so much this will help for Carple tunnle right?! This is the same nerve.. when I started watching your videos for my Carple tunnel my middle finger was literally stuck curved in and in excruciating pain ....now it still hurts but is better and my finger is straighter...not perfectly straight but straight none the less.. Thank you so much
Great exercises, a work colleague recommended your video and it's a blessing. I work in an office and the pain caused by typing/using mouse is unbearable, can you advise what adjustments should I make to avoid it?
Thanks. I have a few for correct computer posture, and some for correcting posture in general. This might be a good place to start: th-cam.com/video/s2ZehQim5ZE/w-d-xo.html
I can only lift my left arm to a certain height & get pain in my upper outer arm & shoulder, sleep gets disturbed because of pain. Are these exercises useful for this?
hello !! love the video .. been dealing with problems with my pronator ters syndrome. do you have any flossing for that? and strengthen ? cheers and thank you for all your great videos i hope i dont need to watch cheers
What happens when you can’t pull your fingers/hand back? My main issue right now is I can’t flex my wrist upwards (if you’re holding it straight out side to side). My wrist is almost completely limp and the majority of the top of my hand is numb but not the fingers.

Thank you and regards,
Sayalee from India
You're welcome. I have several neck pain videos that might help. You can find them at: th-cam.com/users/askdoctorjo
@@AskDoctorJo Sure. Thanks.
Thank you so much
You're welcome. Yes, the median nerve is usually the one compressed with carpal tunnel syndrome.
AskDoctorJo thank you...I'm glad I came across your videos!!!
You're welcome!
Your Median, Radial and Ulnar videos are amazing, thanks!
Do you have these stretches cut like a "program" without the tutorial? Cheers!
Thanks, and you're welcome! I don't have it specifically like that right now.
If your wrists hurt try out ergonomic mouse and keyboard it helped me a lot because I also work on computers
Pinched nerve in shoulder & neck and elbow plz make a vedio..
Is there anyway to contact you and send you some medical report ?
Thank you Doctor Jo.
You're welcome.
You are a life saver! Thank you ♡
You're welcome!

You're welcome!
I am having numbness in my both hands and fingers leaving the pinky. Which pt exercise should i use. I have no pain in neck.
I’ve been doing them, still hurt
I can only lift my left arm to a certain height & get pain in my upper outer arm & shoulder, sleep gets disturbed because of pain. Are these exercises useful for this?
hello !! love the video .. been dealing with problems with my pronator ters syndrome. do you have any flossing for that? and strengthen ? cheers and thank you for all your great videos i hope i dont need to watch cheers
Thanks! I don't have a video specifically for it, but some of my golfer's elbow videos might help.
@@AskDoctorJo can’t hurt to try t🤷♂️ thanks
can the radial and medial nerve both be compressed by the pronator teres >? cheers and sorry to be a bother.
Radial nerve compression is usually more related to the supinator muscle.
What happens when you can’t pull your fingers/hand back? My main issue right now is I can’t flex my wrist upwards (if you’re holding it straight out side to side). My wrist is almost completely limp and the majority of the top of my hand is numb but not the fingers.
I am subscribed. How long do I hold each stretch? How many counts on the never glides? Thanks
Nerve glides are not stretches, so you don't hold them. As I mentioned in the video, 10 times once a day.
