3 Exercises to Alleviate Arm Nerve Pain

  • Today' video covers rehab exercises for pain related to the three primary peripheral nerves that start in the neck and run down the arm.
The median nerve begins at the neck, like our the other peripheral nerves mentioned in the video (ulnar and radial) and receives contributions from many nerve roots (C5-T1). The nerve then courses down the arm, giving sensation to the palm side of the hand, the thumb, index, middle and the lateral half of the ring finger. It also provides motor input to most of the muscles that move our wrist and fingers into flexion (imagine making a fist).
The ulnar nerve is made up of the C8 and T1 neck branches and runs down the inside of the forearm to the pinky and inner side of the ring finger.
The radial nerve provides motor innervation to the triceps and the wrist/finger extensor muscles. The nerve also relays sensory input from most of the back of the hand and fingers (except the pinky and medial half of the ring finger).

I can't believe what I am watching. So here is my story: In September 2020, I fell and dislocated my elbow. After the initial night of the accident, I could no longer feel or move my arm and hand. I had an x-ray, and the ER doctor said I had a hair fracture on my elbow, but they did not put a cast. When I saw the orthopedic, he said he was worried and that I needed PT. After doing PT for 4 months, my arm and hand remained numb. So, after requesting an MRI because the pain was under my arm by my shoulder, the MRI came back normal. But I could not lift my arm above my waist. Anyway, the Orthopedic could not help me. He didn't understand why I could not move my arm. He made me feel like I was lying. It took me about 2 years to begin moving and feeling my arm; it still hurts and feels a tingling sensation in my fingers. Sometimes, I'll tighten the sensation in my hand. After so long, you are the first person who describes what I feel and gives an exercise to relieve the pain. Thank you!

I feel relief I don’t feel the soreness anymore I thought it was a muscle issue but after I did your exercises clearly it must’ve been a nerve issue but it feels great now. Wow amazing. I can’t thank you enough for you putting together this lifechanging video! I’ve been suffering for many months, each night getting progressively worse with numbness in all fingers and pins/needles, really affecting my sleep. I’m suffering -- or now I can say I was suffering - from all three nerves being pinched (I was waking up each morning with my hand cramped and curled, with three fingers acting like they were locked…recently, it wasn’t going away during the day and staying cramped and wanting to curl…really scary!). After just one day of doing the flossing it was better! I slept that night for the first time in I can’t remember without terrible pins and needles all night long! I’m writing this on day 3…I just can’t believe my days of suffering are truly over! I’m truly grateful I discovered your video…if you help no one else, know that you helped change my life for the better...thank you!!!🌻

I had a blood examination too and she hit a nerve 7 days ago. I felt a sharp pain in my wrist. I just started doing the one exercise and it is already releasing the pain when I hyper extend. Will keep doing these daily. Nutrition helps too. B Vitamine complex and foods high and alpha lipoic acid for nerve regeneration. I read up on the peer reviewed studies. I mentally feel better too eating these foods, hence their effect on the nervous system.
