    I had mid back pain for YEARS. my physical therapist introduced me to this, and the pain went away within a few sessions. It was crazy.

      Did you do all the sessions in one sitting? Or like once a day for a week? I think I may have the same issue

    But it's hurting 😢?

      This has to be done gently, the nerves are sensitive, not like a tendon or a muscle.
      If you put too much pressure you're gonna make the pain worse.

      I know this comment was left awhile ago, but look for a licensed massage therapist who specializes in nerve compression and get them to treat the neck, back, and hips to help clear up any compression points along the path of the nerve before continuing the exercises. It can help take the really tight pulling pain away before doing the nerve flossing.

    Can this be done on both sides? Pain and numbness has flipped for me over the decades since the original slipped disk occurrence, so wondering if doing both sides is helpful or only apply to the side currently experiencing the most discomfort.

    His on earth do you expect someone with a bulging disc to sit when you know most cannot it’s to painful this is for someone with a healthy back no wonder pbhysio does not work

    • @bradyodell5372
      @bradyodell5372 4 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      Eve Mcardle: First off, according to systematic reviews, most people have asymptomatic disc bulges on MRI. Clinically they are not the primary diagnosis on a differential list, that can include five or six diagnoses, which respond differently to interventions. Second, with a disc herniation, this would not be an initial treatment option for many doctors. This would be reserved for later rehabilitation in many cases, or for a diagnosis of peripheral nerve entrapment rather than compression of a nerve root with radiculopathy. Physiotherapy/physical therapy/spinal manipulation all have their place when implemented correctly and not all practitioners diagnose the same or use the same methods. Often, patient compliance to exercises and rehab at home is low. Finally, many times a diagnosis can take weeks to months to resolve, a lumbar disc herniation may take 6-8 months in some cases depending on many factors.
      A blanket statement that “pbhysio” (spelling?) doesn’t work is disrespectful to the knowledge and experience of the doctors who have obtained credentialing and licensure in an approach that has hundreds of studies and systematic reviews to support its efficacy. Additionally, this one exercise isn’t intended to diagnose the cause of “sciatica”, nor treat all low back and leg pain conditions. I am not sure what your qualifications are, but if you had a bad experience with conservative care, then perhaps you may benefit from a different practitioner or approach.

      Hi Eve, the thing about having a bulging disc is that everyone is different. So you may be in a ton of pain just sitting. And this obviously would not be the best exercise for you. I hear you that you'd had limited or no benefits from physio before, but if you are living in pain, I hope you'll keep trying. Right now there is so much telehealth available and you don't even have to leave your home! Having a good physio / physical therapist who really KNOWS you (More than just one or two sessions) is a good friend for life. There is hope.

      Eve Mcardle I agree, flossing is for people that's never had sciatica

      @@Rosie-bz1gz That's garbage! After a year of nerve glides, even waking up 2x through the night to exercise I "WORKED" through my pain... I'm now able to race cars again and live my life. I'm fused L3-S1 and Nerve Glides changed my life. The only thing that actually worked in 20+ years...

    • @PSolk

      If Physio hasn't worked for you either 1. you aren't putting in the effort AT HOME outside physio, you can't do it an hour a day it is constant or you have the wrong phsyio. They can adapt these exercises to your daily capabilities. Then you have to be willing to work at the exercises CONSTANTLY! Post-Op I was waking up 2x throughout the night JUST to glide. If I slept through the night I couldn't move in the morning. Only by making the glides a constant routine was I able to work "through" not being able to sit or walk.... I've watched 99% of people who go to physio say it didn't help and the only common denominator is they all did their 1-2 hours 3x per week and never did anything once they left the physio. Getting better takes work, if you aren't willing to do it because it's "too painful" you will never break through the pain and overcome it... This is not for someone with a healthy back and Physio done "properly" does work...

    I've only done this for one day. I feel better already. I have excrutiating pain that seems that it starts in my darier and goes over to my hip and down to my knee. I have to stretch after standing up. Otherwise, I would fall over in pain. I can't take my first step without those stretches. I've been told it's Illiotibial Band Syndrome. But I think that Piriformis Syndrome might be part of the problem. If I sit for longer than 20 minutes driving in the car, then ache in my tooshie is almost an unbearable ache. Then it starts affecting my hip. I'll comment again to let you know if it's continuing to work.

    I have a question: I have gluteal atrophy and doing all kinds of gluteal activation exercises doesn't help much if at all so I suspect the problem may be in the nerves. This floss is usually done for the sciatic nerve, will it floss my other gluteal nerves at the same time and hopefully reactivate whatever has shut down in there?

    • @hareeba5879
      @hareeba5879 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have a similar issue mate. Have you had any success in reactivating your glutes?

    • @Randy-is6ww
      @Randy-is6ww 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Your glutes don’t shut off but if you have a pelvic til it can cause your glutes to not do their job and other muscles to compensate and dominate the movement, like your hamstrings and quads

    • @Randy-is6ww
      @Randy-is6ww 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depending on your lifestyle, if you sit all day, that means your core muscles are weak… look up anterior pelvic tilt as well as lower crossed syndrome

    • @RavenLunacy44

      No, you want slow controlled movements. Try to picture a ball being tugged on a string from one end of the nerve to the other.

      Don't continue if you feel pain. It means the exercise won't work for you. I had spinal fusion at l5 s1 so not all exercises work for me. This one doesn't seem to worsen my pain though so I would try it for a bit
