Carbon Fibre Split Mould Lay Up. Car Wing Mirror Cover [PREPREG] [OUT OF AUTOCLAVE]
Here I layup the split mould I previously made using Xpreg prepreg carbon fibre. The results are great, leaving minimal sanding back on the split line ready for clear coat.

Hello👋 May I ask you, the gel coat uses epoxy, and the laminate uses vinyl. Is there any delamination?

what did you do for clips for fitment as I've always wanted to try wing mirrors but don't know how to get the right clips for fitting to the car

Why is a split mold utilized here? Couldn't this have been done with non-split mold? Thanks!

Without the split the carbon part would of been mechanically locked into the mould with no way of releasing.
