I noticed that with my citra emulator with the "characters are invisible" glitch, but the paper characters were the only visible

I've attempted this before myself, just to prove to myself how busted Paper Mario was. The only challenges in the run were Bowser Jr Duo and Kamek Duo, because they'd keep healing themselves while being incapable of hitting them simultaneously due to flying meaning no hammer, and both bricked the run forcing me to pull out a bros attack to finish both off each.
I'd just let Mario and Luigi get ko'd because healing wasnt a concern due to the Copy Block. If anything, letting the bros faint was actually a HUUUUGE benefit because all the 3d chase sequences would not happen bar a few exceptions because you need one of the bros alive to trigger it.
This is proof that 2D supremecy exists everywhere in the world

I remember being REALLY bad at this game when I was younger (it was my first turn based game tbf) and I somehow ended up with Paper Mario being my only character at a reasonable level and the other bros were just mostly de- knocked out. Didn't work out well.
I got through eventually.
I specifically remember the Pokie bossfight and the haunted woods section being horribly difficult for me.
That was how my first run went actually, then I thought "How can I turn being bad at a video game into a dumb video idea" and 20 hours of footage later, this video was born!
I.... I.... Genuinely have no words, this must have been so difficult, mad props for completing this!
Once again an amazing video. This is a game I have never played, so what I honestly thought was one of the most interesting parts of the video was just seeing the game played from your perspective. Seriously, the effort put into these videos is phenomenal so keep it up!

Sounds like my first playthrough lol. I was so underleveled the bros would die practically instantly. I only survived most of the game because of paper mario's broken abilities and easy mode. Needless to say I've improved at not being dumb since then.

this run was incredible!! but theres one thing im a tad confused about, why did you chase nabbit down in the last area of the game? You didnt need to chase him in NEO bowsers castle, after the KB fight there was no need to get any more bros attacks.
Glad you liked the video, I chased nabbit down as a way to grind for coins, as its the best way to stock up on them late game, and then the coins I collected were used to fuel a coins to star points card I had, saved me a load of time later on in the run when I was grinding those last few levels

I think you're the rare case of a channel putting a load of effort into their content nowadays. most people just churn out rubbish content with no effort put in, but not you. this video is 100% proof of that, incredible job!

This has to one of the strangest rule setups for challenges, because the game doesn’t let you ‘pass’
I had to watch the rules twice yo understand, but it turned out as a really cool run once I understood what was allowed

Awesome video, Skythe! I'm new to the channel and I hope you'll be seeing more of me soon, but I did have a question here - why didn't you mention the Amiibo cards? They are seriously overpowered in all challenges using Paper Jam, especially the Toad amiibo, as when his set is completed he gains the ability to earn an additional 100% bonus EXP and coins after battles, saving hours of time in leveling up.
Other that that, thanks for spending your time on this video, and have a nice remainder of your existence!
Hey, happy you loved the video, and thanks for the question! To answer it, I actually dont own any amiibo cards myself, least not any that work with paper jam, plus until you told me I actually didnt know they did anything. Also for this run I was playing on an emulator as I dont have a way to capture footage from my 3ds. And until recently I wasnt even aware you could use amiibos with the emulator I was running.
But thanks for informing me of that, would have saved me many many hours of grinding levels in the later areas!

I did my own runs years ago, I played through every game in order (even the remakes) & maxed everything (level & stats to 999) the GBA game took the longest. It was a really fun if a little tedious experience, I just loved stomping the bosses on the first turn
I tried exploiting through walls in my game of Paper Jam but then i got stuck in a wall and had to reset, and beated the Ludwig and Larry Boss at the Desert area
Alternate title (because thats popular): mario and luigi paper jam but they actually die to the goomba wheel, and paper mario takes their place like miles morales in spiderverse.
Fun fact, I finished the game in 1 day and tried this too.

Still sad this is the game Alphadream basically ended on, but hey at least it allows for unique challenges like this one. Very fun vid!

I hate to say it, but… king Bob-Omb is one of the easiest fights in the game, mainly because with a mix of high defense and some damage cancelling cards, you can survive his timer explosion and win the fight. As long as one bro survives, he’s legally dead. Though, I’m assuming you wanted the EXP from the fight, which is valid.
Yea hes a great source of EXP so I was doing my best to win before the timer went off and also trying to keep everyone alive

Couldn't you have just let M&L go down rather than do soft hammer hits/counter attacks?
If you have the endure battle card when emergency blocking, you can tank bobomb explosion.

I usually did this with bosses that were really hard. It’s take long, but it’s easier to dodge. The part that made me quit the game wasn’t even a fight, it was those propeller guys.
I just realized that you can get softlocked at 6:30 Where if you are unlucky then you can the flee block and then you have to flee every battle.
I know that you can do whatever rulesets you want, but I when I tried this game with only Mario I didn’t allow bros attacks or counter attacks. The other 2 were not allowed to do damage, couldn’t dodge attacks. And had to use jumps on spiked enemies and hammers on flying enemies
In my first playthrough of the game my mario and luigi were underleveled and keep dying in boss fights so I basically did the game using only paper mario
I remember trying this once like a year ago and then I gave up since I never used the copy block and I had to have Mario and Luigi die every battle
People complained much about Paper Jam Bros, so I am pretty happy, that someone gives more passion into this game. Of course the game could have been easily the best Mario and Luigi RPG, if we used the best of both franchises. However, it still is a good game.

I liked to do this as well but using a glitch that can make paper mario go out of bounds from a paper-mario-only area so it was actually just with paper mario

That’s actually how I beat the final boss on my first playthrough. Mario and Luigi died half way through the second phase and I managed to beat it with just paper Mario.
That was actually how my final boss fight went for my first run which lead to this challenge
Alright. This is before watching the video. I’m more worried about end game at bowsers castle, cause there are some koopawing final attacks that require you to use The whole squad to counter, and if you don’t, instant instakill.

I thought that this game was actually pretty good and better than any Paper Mario game's been in years, other than those annoying Paper Toad missions.

I always wondered why the heck does the paper poke have a Royal sticker on its head I mean it's not like Mario Luigi paper jam is taking the same place as sticker star. right?
Idk if you had the amiibos compatible but if you do they are incredibly broken in this game like one of Toads cards doubles exp and coins gained in a battle. One of Peachs is to fully restore hp and bp to your party in battle. One of Yoshis quadruples your chances of lucky hits. Lastly both Mario and Bowser have cards that completely prevents any enemy from attacking. The amiibo cards are way too good.
Paper jam bros is one of the worst MaL games, but god damn does this challenge look fun

@@inkstar7521 I would guess it's because the game forces tutorials on you throughout the entire adventure, instead of just in the early game and when absolutely necessary like you see in other M&L games. Although, I am curious, so if you're still here, I AM THE JESUS CHRIST OF CHRISTMAS, why do you think Dream Team is worse?
Even if it is the worst, i think it's a very well made game and a great time overall

Ah, paper jam. I think mechanically, it’s really good. It’s just the story, the world, it’s just bland. Music is awesome though. I have mixed feelings on it.
