Trying the Insanely Viral UNREAL Roasted Tomato Soup!!
I saw THIS • How to make an unreal ... Tomato soup recipe on ‪@MobKitchen‬ and I had to make it! IT looked amazing but I wanted to see how it would come out. It was fairly simple recipe with not a lot of ingredients, not a lot of herbs or spices and I just wanted to see if it would fall flat or truly be an unreal roasted tomato soup?
I bought a load of tomatoes, can of coconut milk, onions, garlic, and ginger to make this happen... the only sub I made was instead of white wine vinegar I used a white rice wine vinegar.... didn't think it would be a huge difference.
    Let me know your thoughts!

    hey there
love your channel, have loved your energy and the fun ways you vegan things up…
quick note tho…. red onions & white onions generally are “sweet” onions, but sweet onions don’t actually have more sugar than standard yellow onions; they’re called “sweet” because they contain fewer of the sulfur compounds which make onions pungent…for raw prep sweet onions are excellent but in cooking they’re just contributing less onion flavor

Nice recipe, I remember making this a few years before. Roasting the tomatoes really makes a big difference. Just boiling the tomatoes, removing the skins and making the soup seems to be OK but this is super. 👌👌👌 I am from Bangalore India tough I am not Vegen I am actually Vegetarian. I've noticed that recipes like this are usually much better the next day. I'm sure your ginger concerns would have been mitigated with time. That being said, I would have thought to add ginger to a tomato soup, so I think that's the really interesting aspect.
As far as what kind of tomatoes, I keep being told that cherry tomatoes are a great year round option. But there are still heirlooms on the shelf so I'd probably try those for a more complex flavor profile.

    • @SauceStache
      @SauceStache  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

We had it again last night for dinner, it really does get even richer a few days later... and I cooked it down a bit more which brought out the color and more tomato flavor, that helped! It was fantastic! Im glad I made so much though, I still have 2 servings left.
The funny thing was the recipe said it made 4 servings but its actually 6 huge servings if you ask me!

I like this recipe, we offen cook it,
I have one suggestion for cooking vagan meat,
Normally people make dough and cook it,
I want you take vagan flour, you grill it in oven, we bhartiya take pan to grill it,
We keep turning, till smell comes or color is changed.
After grilling, you add any ingredients for making Pettis ,
Make dough and steam for 15 to 30 minutes depending on extra ingredients you are adding.
You can add well over night stocked in water red pinto beans or black beans or red lentil or mushroom with other spices of your choice. In vegetables add reddish to give salty flavor.
After adding give shape and steam it.
Steam process.....will absorb the water for giving softness to vagan meat.
Don't put inside water but it's optional.
Now you take pan fry with oil or eat without frying.
Since vagan meat flour is grilled, it will take lesser time to cook.
    Jay Bharat.

I'm a big fan of tomato soup (British tradition), but I would do this differently. No ginger, basil instead of coriander, no stock or coconut milk, use tinned tomatoes for the liquid and top up with water, more tomato puree than is probably healthy, roast some red peppers with the tomatoes, use oregano, dried basil and dried thyme when roasting, turn up the temperature so you only need to roast for half an hour, then you simmer for twenty minutes -- the whole thing should take less than an hour.
