My interpretation of the Troll is that you can fight it, kill it, and get its reward repeatedly until you get the Flame Sword where you REALLY kill it and complete the objective of the card.
My interpretation too... Given in many RPG settings Trolls are known for their regenerative abilities.. I'd say you can fight and kill the Troll, however it regenerates and "comes back to life" ... The flame blade destroys the Trolls ability to regenerate.
I'm inclined to agree with you. The only reason I hesitate to agree that you get the reward each time is because there's no reward for 'properly killing it' with the flame sword.
@@lone_adventurer I see your thinking, plus when you've got a camera rolling it's a different ball game altogether than relaxing and mulling it over in your own time! Regardless have thoroughly enjoyed both your videos reviewing and playing Korg... You've really evidenced how much juice can be squeezed out of this one! Literally on the face of it I think I would have overlooked this game as overly simplistic and not enough depth, however watching it play out (or more specifically, YOU play it out, has made me realise that's not the case!.. Will definitely be spending from my wallet on this, to add to my wallet with this! 😂
This is correct! You can defeat it and claim gold each time you encounter the troll, but the ‘quest’ is only complete if the troll is slain with the flame blade
@@lone_adventurer sorry about the confusion. You get the gp each time you drop the troll, but the quest/objective is only completed when the troll is killed with the flame blade
I made a game similar to this called “Wizards Who Cast Strength” for my PE kids. It works similarly except you gain crystals instead of gold and you do exercises to kill enemies based on their armor class. Really love Korg and definitely will be doing something using the way he did the bog and tyrant cards. Really great way to make the most out of the cards.
Great channel! Just picked this up and have played 2 times on the base card. Question though on the shops. There are technically 3 different shop cards. Do they stack as you progress? In this clip you are using 2 of the 3. When does the 3rd shop card on the Slayer card come into play?
Great - glad I introduced you to Korg! I don't think there are any hard and fast rules about when you can introduce the additional shop items, the exception being you probably need access to the Dragon Slayer to defeat the dragon...
While watching this last night, I realised since you are using a single die, you always have equal chances of rolling any of the six numbers and therefore equal chances to lose to/win against any of the monsters despite the required roll being above a certain threshold. Am I right or wrong? I am not confident enough in my math skills to be sure either way.
That's not quite right. With a single die, you have an equal chance of rolling a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6. The difference is, which of those six numbers qualifies as defeating a specific enemy. For example, to defeat the Vampire you need to roll above a 5, meaning that only a 6 will defeat the monster and you have a 1-in-6 chance of success. However, to defeat the Crow you only need to roll above a 2, meaning that a 3, 4, 5, or 6 will defeat the monster and you have a 4-in-6 (or 2-in-3) chance of success.
@@Balmonec Cool. Thanks. I thought it might be like that, but the fact I can roll any number at any time was still confusing me. But this confusion ended up being quite useful because, in my efforts to clarify it to myself, I accidentally invented a new combat system, more detailed and clear than this, but still fits on a card. The trouble with that is that I live in a poopy country, so turning my project into reality as I intended is quite complicated. I will probably turn it into a print-and-play thing and put it up on itchio when I get some free time, though.

Just got this in the mail a few days back. Been playing it nonstop. A satisfying little romp for sure.
Cool! Glad you're having fun with it!

Well you sound like an awesome PE teacher!
Interesting game mechanics. Thanks for the playthrough!
This game is a ton of fun. Ive been playing it a few weeks now
Glad you're enjoying it!
I like this game!
Realy fun game 🙂

This one seems really good. Does it come in some sort of stylized tin? Could it fit in like an Altoids tin maybe?
Doesn't come in a tin but would totally fit in one. Could add some dice, paper and a pencil 🙂
Wear wolf: a wolf that you wear.
😁

I'd love something like this on a phone app, if anyone can recommend that would be appreciated 😊
Ditto! Someone should totally make that...he says, realising he's a web developer 😁
