In the UK you can get custom made-to-order Vass through Ascot shoes including alterations to the last where needed but these are looking like a strong contender can't lie
I would like to see the on outside or in the kitchen. Somewhere other than the rug or carpet. I am undecided if I like the height or (gap) between the ground and sole of the shoe at the waste?
As far as i am concerned as a shoemaker with a Masterdegree,
this is executed Style, brilliant Craftsmanship, even the trimming and heel edge and the fiddle back waist is Top Notch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vlad - big thanks for these last couple of videos. I have had a gap in several of my shoes and couldn't figure out what the problem was. Shoe tongues have helped. I love Bonafe shoes and wondering if they can make some minor modifications when I order MTO or recommend a last for flat feet? I will also give Wayman a try.

Does adding the trial shoe slow down the process?
@@carrollmchaneyiii4938 Yes. The trial shoes take around 4 weeks to complete (including the time to make your lasts) then about a week for shipping. After receiving fit feedback from you, the last will be modified (if necessary) and the final shoes will be made within 12 weeks to your specifications. The trial shoes will only be necessary for the first pair so after that, you just need to tell us the model ans specs, and your shoes are ready within 12 weeks!

You have approx 125 videos. This is flat out #1 for me! I cannot wait to get involved with the Wayman process. A few months of hurdles to clear first, but no more shoes of any kind until I have my first Wayman pair, even if it means suit with flip flops to a church wedding. Going bespoke is definitely an experience I am sure. It is probably the same thing with shirts. Getting OTR shirts are great, but going MTM is a whole other experience. It really opens your eyes on how a shirt can possibly fit you. Having a shirt that fits you perfectly just feels great, and honestly boosts your confidence a lot.

My shoe trees arrived (no unboxing here) a couple of days ago. Bought on Amazon - Kilocircle brand, cedar, Medium (9-10), single tube-6 pack. six pairs. $80.
They are seemingly avg quality, Labeled L or R and size. They are not matched wood pairs, some have wood blemishes and 1 pair with slight cracks.
You get what you pay for. However, I am happy to have them, as I had 1 pr of plastic previously.
The company is responsive as I received them in less than a week or so down here. Int'l shipping is a bear.
Surprise: Kilocircle included a small cedar shoe horn, a nice dusting cloth with hand strap, and a double-sided cleaning brush in the mix (One side for applying saddle soap, the other for cleaning off gross dirt and debris). Nice. I am a happy camper.
In the installing - I noticed that the quality of my never worn, Cole Haan wingtip bluchers, are a bit suspect. The shoe repair guys (Trenton & Heath) Potterandsons.com really trash several of the "name brand" shoes, including CH, over the last several years.. My education continues. Jim

How do you think they compare to real bespoke?
I wish I could answer that but unfortunately, I haven’t had a chance to experience true bespoke yet. I’m sure that nothing probably beats true bespoke but these are a good alternative to get your feet wet outside of RTW.

If I could afford these, I'd be all over them. I've actually had a similar idea for a business. Not sure how they create the custom lasts but I might still try to create my idea for a semi-bespoke show company. Not entirely sure how to do it because I'm a college student, which is why I can't drop $800-1000(probably 1000 because I quite like Jodhpur boots.) on a pair of these. I also love burgundy shoes. It's the color I chose for my Jodhpurs from Beckett Simonon and I think that it's the best color for men who wanna stand out in a classy way. Better than black shoes while working with more colorways. You definitely found a high-quality brand. Plus, seeing how much Simon, the founder, works to deliver a great service certainly inspires me as I want to be a highly involved company owner when I get around to starting the companies I want to start. Your personality showed through this video nicely as well. Love it.

Brandon Colligan fantastic! Very exciting. Yes, we ask for 100% upfront but you can safely pay via PayPal if that’s an issue for you. We are a small business just starting out, so we do need the capital upfront. Nothing too exotic in our standard offering... currently some pig skin hides that are very special. But we can more or less use whatever you like, as long as we can source it.

Those shoes are really beautiful 🥰 and the price is amazing ! Do you know where is the workshop that makes the shoes ? Is it in Germany under the owner´s supervision ? Or somewhere else is Europe ? (Portugal? Spain ?...)
One more thing : i think you can’t really compare this kind of offer with something like Lobb or Green... these brands are, like Kirby Allison says, « heritage » brands. When buying a pair of Green or Lobb, I think you also buy the heritage. But I think you’re right: there is definitely a market for this offer, and I don’t think you can find the same level of offer anywhere else !
What’s up, Jean? It’s a very well known workshop in Shanghai, I just realized that I forgot to mention that in the video. And yes, a lot has to be said about how long those brands been around and producing quality shoes at a high level. If the fit is good and one don’t really care about the whole HW vs GYW construction as most English brands are, then there’s probably no reason to venture out.
Lovely shoes, great presentation..(by your son) :-) Allthough, not at all surprised about the craftmanship. German quality is still worldfamous, why not in the shoebusiness? Very cool configurator. I´m the webshopbusiness and that´s some heavy sh... So timid and sweat presentation on their website. Great stuff.

Hi Branstein. These shoes are made in China with European branding; not that it means anything in substance. Also, as this is a new brand, we don't know anything about quality or the level of craftsmanship until they experience wear and we can see the leather quality, etc. I wish we could see a close-up of the stitching and how the uppers meet the heal, etc. That's usually a close to quality.
A few points- great shoe, I ordered a pair from Wayman that should arrive next week, but nonetheless, I am skeptical of Chinese made shoes. I saw close up shots of the Yeossal and think the finishing is suspect, which is a clue to quality. You said the finishing here is great, but didn't show any close ups like you normally do. Of course I trust you. You've been nothing short of honest, but I do want to see for myself. The key factors for a shoe's longevity are leather quality and construction and we don't really know anything about either and only time will tell that story. Maybe you can treat us with a follow-up in 6 months and a year so we can see if they are truly worth the money. Finally, EG has been making quality shoes for a long time and you know what you're getting when you buy them. They'll be around for 20 years looking great. Putting too much focus on welting and waist shape is a mistake when the old adage is tried and true; great GYW beats poor bespoke every day of the week. The comparison with EG is somewhat meaningless as the brands are totally different categories, but it's done a lot on SF, so I see the appeal. I like trying different brands, but EG and g&g and StC are reliable well made shoes and make up the core of my shoe wardrobe! Thanks for the video. It's marvelous.
Thanks for your kind words and I agree with your premise. I will definitely make a video a few months down the line on how the shoes are aging. Mine comparing them to EG is more about fit, personally I feel like fit is king above anything else. Companies like EG, StC should get the benefit of the doubt since they’ve earned it but I think it’s also very important for guys-especially those newer to high end shoes-to explore what else can be had at that price point or lower even if those brands may not have the name recognition yet. I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on them when you get them in.

Lord Marvel...that's a fly sounding watch straight up, never heard of it, cant wait. I actually purchased the a PCoat and camel and navy DB overcoats from S&M. You got a Brother looking refined. Thanks, B. Lewis! I’d be able to tell you more once I wear them a few times. But I expect them to behave similar to other crust leather such as needing to be shined more often than regular box calf and probably taking a little more work to get a good mirror shine but we shall see.

What hurts Wayman for me is the outsourced to Shanghai production. Who knows what environmental and labor protections are involved? Also, part of the pleasure of bespoke is knowing the maker. Alexandru Maftei does sub-$1500 bespoke out of Vienna. It is of course better to fit in person, but he does offer a remote option.
They should have compted you a new pair for the misfit issue. Alexandru's first pair didn't hit me right, he redid my last and sent me another pair.

This the first video of yours I've seen, so I might be asking a question that was answered somewhere else, but what you mentioned about gaping and flat feet - do you have an accessory navicular?
Any mention of leather quality or where the leather is from? I note the shoes are made in China (nothing wrong in itself with that) but I see no mention of the leather on the website which makes me nervous.
Leathers are all locally sourced in Europe. Most leathers are either from Germany, France, Italy, the UK or US. Annonay for box calf, Stead for suede, Ilcea for museum calf, Banoudo for crust calf, etc.
If you hover over each leather, the tannery should show up
