      Play with color. Once you have a decent amount of brown and black in different styles, and have a few pairs of suede shoes start playing with different colors: burgundy, green, navy, many different patinas, etc

      A proper shoe shine. Top tier shoes don’t look their best if they aren’t properly maintained and shined. Not only doesn’t it make the shoe look better, you’re actually protecting your investment at the same time.

    Listening to this video set me off scurrying around the back of my wardrobe to find what used to be called "Dancing Pumps" for wearing to a Ball with a Dinner Suit. Mine have pointed toes and very flexible leather soles designed for dancing.
    They would not not look anywhere near as classy with flat laces. Yes it's an exception, but you did ask the question and the answer was in my wardrobe.
    But in my wardrobe it's the exception. Phil.

    • @v_r_
      @v_r_  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha...dancing shoes are interesting. Can one still wear them even if you don’t dance? 🤔🤔

    • @phillipj.moodie3077
      @phillipj.moodie3077 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ Vladmir Riche. There was a saying in the "Sixties", that was not consider Racisist in that era, that claimed "White men can't dance". Popular film stars like John Travolta were consider an exception. My stepfather was a superp dancer in the Fred Astaire style and while in the Royal Australian Navy was regularly recruited to entertain the "Troops". So when I started to get invited to Debutante Balls in the 1950"s, by young ladies who could not convince their boyfriends to hire a Dinner Suit, wirh a dress shirt and properly tied bow tie, I was regularly asked. It was my Step Father who taught me, that to Waltz correctly then I needed to do as he did and buy "Dance Pumps. So if you watch an old Fred Astaire routine on TH-cam, you will notice that he is not wearing the very thick soled "Clod Hoppers", made in the USA, that Florshiem used to sell in their chain of stores in Australia at the time when they still manufactured top quality shoes in Melbourne. So as you qualifier by the Seventies "standards" as someone who should be able to dance, perhaps its time that you remembered the old saying from the Fifties movies "Put on your dancing shoes", which meant dig out the dancing pumps from your wardrobe. LOL.!!! Phil.

    Vlad my brother, I’m 52 years old. I remember wearing suede shoes in my early 20’s. I’ve love the suede shoe look. People would glance at my feet. My coworkers would comment on my suede shoes. I wore brown shoes with blue snd grey suits. Love that look. I didn’t wear black shoes with most outfits like men did back in the late 80’s early 90’s. I like to stand out from the crowd. yo vlad, just a suggestion for when you show what you're wearing at the end of the video: try to get close ups from certain areas, like the shoes, the upper torso area, or any other part that you would like to accentuate. i feel like it's going to give the breakdown more life. alternatively, you could do a slow close-up top to bottom/bottom to top transition.

    Thanks for letting us see you standing up. My only advice with shoes is to be real with yourself and also how others see you. What looks best on you, not what looks best in pics of the shoes alone with no context. I have great shoes that are either too much or get lost on my feet. Foot presence is real.

    • @v_r_
      @v_r_  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Fam that’s 💯. A lot of guys buy shoes just from seeing them in pics without an outfit to match then they get the shoes home only to see how hard that particular style or color is to pair with an outfit. That is so true, thanks for saying that.

    I believe suede shoes are a great match to trousers with texture. That is, if you want to wear them with suits (except from jeans or chinos) flannel is the perfect fabric for it. They do not match, of course with very dressy shining (above 140's wool) suits.

    Highly recommend using Saphir creams and polish. I spent years using Kiwi in the military trying to get good shine on bad product. 10% of the time spent using Saphir results in a way better shine. If you're using leather bottom shoes and it rains, make sure you have a second pair to give them a day off to rest.

      @ Eye Heart Sushi. Mid last Century, when "The Man in a Grey Flannel Suit" was as fashionable in a Business environment as the "IBM Salesman" in a Navy Blue Suit, in England medium brown colour suede shoes were accepted as being acceptable in the Banking, Finance and Advertising sectors where I worked. While not too my taste, what I remember from that time was that the leading brands of suede shoes were very expensive because dtess shoe quality suede leather was expensive. I remember the cost because I bought a pair when Blue Suede Shoes was near the top of the local Hit Parade, and I was the only youth at the Saturday night Town Hall dance who could afford a pair. The song line "Don't Step on my Blue Suede Shoes" was written by someone who had paid their own hard earned money to achieve the peak style of the late 1950's. So if you are going to buy a pair, and are fussy about their appearance, the top quality used to come from English Companies like Churches. From memory, Prince Charles favours that style. Phil.

      @ Eye Heart Sushi. Thanks for the note. It got me using Google to brush up some old memories and to check my spelling. Short story is that the history of Church's shoes is well coverd by a Wikipedia listing along with a Corporate page and related industry comments. Why I decided to add to my original comment was that a blog titled "The Shoe Snob Blog" is very critical of the quality of the manufacturing of the shoes since the Company was bought by Prada and people with no appreciation of its heritage started to turn it into a Fashion Item. In Melbourne Australia, the best dressed men in the City of Melbourne were always the Lawyers wearing custom tailored suits and highly polished Church's black shoes. Mine received compliments from the Leading Criminal Lawyers, whose very high fees allowed them to dress in a manner that made their notorious clients proud to be associated with the peacocks of the Courts. But it appears that there are now better manufacturers of premium quality shoes, including suede. Phil

    I absolutely agree with the flat laces! Round laces are too generic, flat's for the pros! What brand do you recommend, Vladimir? I don't have much access to flat laces here in Malaysia, only some Saphir (expensive) and generic ones that cost around US$0.75 but only come in brown and black. I wanna get something more colorful.
    I'm currently focusing my collection on the basics first then diversifying to other styles and materials. I've bought too many meh shoes (Allen Edmonds), and am wanting to upgrade them soon. Not that it's a bad shoe, but it rather doesn't fit my style as its a chunky shoe and looks too bulbous with a slim fit suit

      What’s up, Brian? That’s odd because for the most part, I’ve heard a lot of guys mentioned that they wish the pants were bigger although I personally never had an issue.
      Mine are tapered very slightly as the leg openings are 8” and I think they come at 8.75”. So it’s a very gradual taper as my tailor knows that I don’t like them too slim.

    I dig your channel. Great content! A question for you: I am 31 yoa, live in Switzerland and start my own business soon. However, wearing suits is not really common here in my work but I would like to step up my style. Where would you start, without going all the way to suits?

    Some suede shoes look really great. The fact that they don't require shine is a big downside for me, there's nothing better than shining a new pair of quality leather shoes :D

    "Don't wear beanies with suits man, people don't like it"
    *edit*
    This was a joke about the last guys, which's why it's in quotes. That being said, it's nice to see that Followers are defending Vladimir after he said he'd stop replying to comments like this one. Did not mean to offend and I love his style.
    .
    On to the video, I need to add some suede to my collection as in living in a Calf oxford world right now.

    Vladimir!! You worry too much about what you wore before on your broadcasts!!
    Let the ladies worry about stuff like that. You do what is right. If the same tie is worn, who cares? You like that tie? Wear it again!! Just sayin'!

    • @v_r_
      @v_r_  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Worry? Nah, I think you probably misunderstood the intro. I was saying that I said that I don’t remember wearing the tie on my channel when I actually wore it 3 times before. Nothing more, nothing less.
