Glad you ended up changing your mind somewhat and making a video like this, because I like menswear and have for years, make good money for my age, and still wouldn't consider spending $500-600 on shoes. Just picked up Meermin loafers (my most expensive pair to date), and they seem pretty decent.

Thank you for the great content - just subscribed! I’ve been searching for a cap toe Oxford that is more rounded than pointy. I may have found it with the Myrqvist vinterviken style. Any other suggestions in this price range. Are there specific lasts that tend to be this shape?
Solid. Most of the presented offerings do not have 3E widths. I went to each page as those shoes looked really nice. Meermin does, however, they have not expanded it beyond 4 shoes and now only two styles are available from them for me. If possible could you do a shoe video for the 10-15% of the shoe lovers who have limited choices due to foot width? I'm a huge fan of closed lacing systems but that is also a challenge to achieve closure without going bespoke. Other than the few offerings from Meermin I have only found Allen Edmonds offering 3E widths across almost all of their shoes. But AE does not make the best looking shoes yet they are in my rotation do limited choices.
Hey Todd, sorry to hear that. I’m sure it’s frustrating not being to find your proper size. I’d have to do some research but I’m up to the task. I have a few video ideas lined up so I don’t have a timeline but it’s on the agenda. Thanks for watching!
I love his advice in the first part of this video: start at $300 unless you catch some awesome sale of some shoes that are a couple of years old that a company needs to clear off the shelves. I'm really digging this channel.
Trying to figure out what your watch is as I collect watches too (I am lovingly gazing at my Jaeger-leCoultre tourbillon as I write). Anyway is it a Zenith, an Omega or a Bucherer? I am dying to know.
It's an expensive habit but I buy one nice Swiss watch every five years. Next watch will be a Glashutte Original Annual Calendar made in Germany. Once you get the watch bug it's hard to stop it.
I’m ready to try a Goodyear welted shoes, I’m going to try Meermin.I’m a Pastor and I’ve always worn Mezlans in exotic skins.Thinks for the information.
Hey Horace, Mezlan shoes just don’t look attractive to my eyes. I feel like there’s too much going on with them for the most part. Magnanni, I’m more familiar with as I used to sell them a long time ago when I worked in t Menswear industry. I feel like there are way better Goodyear welted options at the same price point or lower. At this point, I wouldn’t recommend those brands over the ones that I’ve mentioned.
Vladimir, great video. Question: Where can you find a size guide so you know what size to order in each brand online? If you’re, say, a 10 EEE in Allen Edmonds, can you determine a reliable size in the brand you want? Also, how are these brands’ selections of widths? Thank you for the awesome video!
I’d say the best way is to reach out to these brands directly and let them know your size in AE and/or other popular brands and they can gauge your size from that. Most of them have their contact on their website and some of them have affiliate threads on Styleforum.net where you can ask questions to them directly.
Allen Edmonds does not use a standard Brannock device but its own scale size. In an Allen Edmonds I'm a size 10 E but in the standard Brannock device size I'm an 11 E. In addition to Vladimir's advice I would suggest finding your size on the standard Brannock device.
Note: I have many pair of Myrqvist and Meermin, Myrqvist Only wins on detail work, looks more fine and thin. Meermin is more heavy weight and have thicker material, better in leather quality as well.
Hey Mark, thanks for watching! Unfortunately, I don’t own any of these brands and I don’t know too much about them. I have a few other brands that I’m looking forward to trying and I will document them on here.
@@markallenwilliams leather quality is wildly inconsistent and the product after only a few wears looks about 5 years old. The Double monk buckles are horrid and because of their poor design the leather strap that goes through them is tearing. The toe caps on all are really strange and have started ceasing very far up the shoe. The heel block rubber is about as durable as as an eraser and it's actually so bad that is being squashed out from under the leather piece that covers half the heel. I could go on, there's plenty more.....
I have a pair of suede chukkas from Myrqvist. They have fantastic customer service and really do make an exceptional product. I believe it's the only shoe on this list with a real leather heel stack instead of leather board. I'm super happy with those shoes
I don’t know a lot of guys personally that own the brand but I’ve heard a lot of good things about them. I’m glad that they’re working for you. I didn’t realize that about the heel stack so that’s good info. Thanks for watching!
I’m with you on the American shoe styles. They leave something to be desired like some style swag - visions of my Dad on his way to church in Florsheims or Allen Edmonds.
Hi Vladimir , great video, impressive well researched and very informative with quality presentation.Your are TH-cam’s for most guide to the world of shoes and that includes Mr and Mrs Jacoment of Parisian Gentleman. It is hard to convince young guys to invest in quality shoes as the initial outlay appears to expensive,, but we both know a quality shoe can and will last a lifetime with care.By the way I recommend Loakes the used to be second stringers to the likes of Church and Cheaney etc but they are pushing out some real quality shoes. Again great content your hitting al the marks keep it up as usual have a great weekend Sir.😎

Spot on on those recommendation. I live in Europe and I have most of the shoes on most of the brands you've mentioned. I ended up with multiple pairs of Loake and Meermin. Few more brands to add to the list; Barker, Grenson, Cheaney, etc.
@@v_r_ Maybe MyUs.com could do a UK-US delivery or any other site. By the way, I wanted to buy Becket Simonon, Cobbler Union or Thursday but won't send to EU. Or if it would then the taxes are astronomical. With the taxes and all then it's better off getting Carmina instead.

Hey Johnny, thanks for coming aboard. While I do understand that Blake stitched shoes are lighter and more slimline than their GYW counterparts. To me, it’s always GYW or Handmade. They’re easier to resole as most reputable cobblers own a GY machine compared to a Blake. Not to mention that water can actually penetrate a Blake stitched shoe, if you’re caught out in the rain. Of course, that’s just my personal preference.

I'm in the UK I have two pairs of Loakes great shoe for the money, I paid £225.00 for my 1880 broque and £170 for my boots.
Thank you sir - very good info
Thank you, Craig!
Amazing video! Both in terms of content and especially in videography - very polished.
Thank you, Johan! You’re very kind
👏🏿👏🏿 everything about this video. A lot of quality information.
Thanks! That video has been killing 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thanks for watching!
is Ike Behar a very good brand on par with Allen Edmond?
I love his advice in the first part of this video: start at $300 unless you catch some awesome sale of some shoes that are a couple of years old that a company needs to clear off the shelves.
I'm really digging this channel.
Thanks, Lawrence!
Trying to figure out what your watch is as I collect watches too (I am lovingly gazing at my Jaeger-leCoultre tourbillon as I write). Anyway is it a Zenith, an Omega or a Bucherer? I am dying to know.
What’s up, Charles? My watch video is dropping tomorrow. I’m not a collector at all but I do love watches.
It's an expensive habit but I buy one nice Swiss watch every five years. Next watch will be a Glashutte Original Annual Calendar made in Germany. Once you get the watch bug it's hard to stop it.
Very informative. Very detailed. I would like to hear your thoughts on Peal & Co Brooks Brothers.
Thanks for watching, Ryan! I’m glad that you enjoyed the video. I have no personal experience with P&C but I’ll look into the brand.
I’m ready to try a Goodyear welted shoes, I’m going to try Meermin.I’m a Pastor and I’ve always worn Mezlans in exotic skins.Thinks for the information.
You’re welcome, Pastor!
What do you think of mezlan and magnnani shoes.
This channel is excellent. Continued success.
That means a lot, Charly. Thank you!
Great job sir Riché.
Thank you, sir! I appreciate it.
BRUH. THIS LIST IS ON POINT! I'VE NEVER HEARD OF THESE COMPANIES, UNTIL NOW. THANK YOU FAM.
It’s my pleasure, bro! I wanted to highlight some brands that most of us in America aren’t familiar with but are excellent.
Kenneth Cochran True!!
Merry Christmas VLADIMIR. Are you still making videos bro!? UK watcher. Intro!!
What’s up, Fabian? I just dropped a new one after almost 2 years. But there’s a lot more to come. Shoutout to the UK!
@@v_r_ Yo!! I'm good bro. I will keep an active eye on your channel. I was re-watching some of your older ones too. Big up yourself.. Intro!!!
Much love, fam!
🔥list and video. Visited the Septieme website last night. Next brand I'm adding to the repertoire. Thanks for the confirmation!
You’re welcome, bro! The website don’t always work properly but their shoes are nice.
Q about the Meermins- can most cobblers resole the hand welted shoes?
I think Skolyx's house brand deserves a shoutout. They don't have much selections, but they look really qualify for the price.
Got you! Thanks for the comparison. Are the models similar? Like Oxford to Oxford, for example?
@@v_r_ Yes, two pair of Tassel Loafer.
Got you, that’s odd!
Are the lining in all these shoes are full grain leather?
Nice list! I would recommend Velasca at this price range :)
Can you review Becket Siminon, Ace Marks, and Undandy shoes?
Hey Mark, thanks for watching! Unfortunately, I don’t own any of these brands and I don’t know too much about them. I have a few other brands that I’m looking forward to trying and I will document them on here.
I bought 3 pairs of undandy. Mistake. Total trash.
Aray please explain, what are the issues you found with the brand
@@markallenwilliams leather quality is wildly inconsistent and the product after only a few wears looks about 5 years old. The Double monk buckles are horrid and because of their poor design the leather strap that goes through them is tearing. The toe caps on all are really strange and have started ceasing very far up the shoe. The heel block rubber is about as durable as as an eraser and it's actually so bad that is being squashed out from under the leather piece that covers half the heel. I could go on, there's plenty more.....
I like your vibe..suscribed!
What is code for spier and mackay?
I have a pair of suede chukkas from Myrqvist. They have fantastic customer service and really do make an exceptional product. I believe it's the only shoe on this list with a real leather heel stack instead of leather board. I'm super happy with those shoes
I don’t know a lot of guys personally that own the brand but I’ve heard a lot of good things about them. I’m glad that they’re working for you. I didn’t realize that about the heel stack so that’s good info.
Thanks for watching!
My Meermins took about 3 times of wear to break them in but, they are my to go shoes now.
Yooooooo.....dope channel my brother! Great tips! Glad to be a subscriber!! 💪🏾💪🏾👏🏾✊🏾
I’m glad that you’ve joined us, bro! Thank you 🙏🏾🙏🏾
I’m with you on the American shoe styles. They leave something to be desired like some style swag - visions of my Dad on his way to church in Florsheims or Allen Edmonds.
I enjoyed your video and just subscribed. I don't see your discount code for Spier & Mackay anywhere. Do you still have that?
good video for the casuals. They also ought to know that shoe trees are a must. Also shoe cream instead of wax most times to keep the kicks fresh.
..just checked your other vids, and you addressed it. You know your stuff...good channel.
Thanks, Adam! Hopefully my videos can convince at least one guy that quality shoes are worth it and the great thing is, they don’t even have to spend a small fortune.
You were one of my very first supporters. Thanks for being a part of my channel from the beginning.
Thank you it’s a pleasure to support your channel 👍
Spot on on those recommendation. I live in Europe and I have most of the shoes on most of the brands you've mentioned. I ended up with multiple pairs of Loake and Meermin. Few more brands to add to the list; Barker, Grenson, Cheaney, etc.
Hey Paul, thanks for watching. I want to try Loake as I’ve heard really good things but they don’t ship to the US for some reason.
Carmina is really growing and have a lot of stores in many different countries. Great choice!
Awww man! What’s the Spier Mackay code? I just copped some merch from them and plan to purchase more.
Have you ever heard of studio Belvedere shoes the around 2:50 to $300 i got them from men's wearhouse
I haven’t, no. I’ll take a look.
Great video!!! I just started watching you and I love all your tips. One thing I want to say is could speak more clearly? Sometimes I couldnt understand what you said lol. Thanks for the tips again
Welcome aboard, bro. I have to work on my enunciation and slow down a little bit. I’m glad you like the videos.
Thank just order 2 pairs of yanko brown and black.
new sub here! blake vs goodyear ? you prefer goodyear even in the summer?
Hey Johnny, thanks for coming aboard. While I do understand that Blake stitched shoes are lighter and more slimline than their GYW counterparts. To me, it’s always GYW or Handmade.
They’re easier to resole as most reputable cobblers own a GY machine compared to a Blake. Not to mention that water can actually penetrate a Blake stitched shoe, if you’re caught out in the rain. Of course, that’s just my personal preference.
I like your tie on this video so much I bought one myself.
It’s a nice tie, I’m glad you like it. Ties and pocket squares are my weakness. And shoes...and suits LOL
@@v_r_ My biggest weakness is shoes/boots. The whole spectrum of them - from White's/Red Wing/Viberg/RM Williams to Alden/AE/C&J/Meermin to high fashion SLP. :)
PS: I love the vibe of your videos.
Thank you, bro. And I need to step up my boots game. I’m severely lacking in that department.
