Imo, it's less about their distorted minds, and more about how their ties to their primarch (even if it's through his curse) and their brothers is all they have left...and they would not forsake that for anything. Plus, there's Rell's presence in the beginning, establishing the appeal of successfully resisting thr dark fate of slavery through effort--even if through death. For him, there was something greater to aspire to in the horizon. And though he never made it, he passed on peacefully satisfied with his efforts and returned to his father--something our resident chaplain had also achieved.
Once again, another masterpiece. My main issue with Vox is that he has raised the bar so high, other productions in kind on TH-cam are like sawdust in the mouth, bringing no pleasure nor adrenalin.
Kazvo 1st impressions: I don't like this one, especially after what he did to that boy Kazvo 2nd impression: he felt peace in his last moments because he was finally called "Brother" fuck, I'm already crying😢😭

vox yet again another fantastically told story told in such a way that I felt like I was stood watching it with my own eyes I could see the chaplin standing guard over his lost brothers in his unwanted but necessary task longing to be with his battle brothers but knowing he has to sand vigilant agenst the forces of chaos u can feel his thirst his consent battle agenst it knowing that he will give in the sadness he feels for the aspirant even though he failed he made the boy feel worthy yet in his failure he still served by giving his life in the ultimate sacrafice

The part where Varsoreth starts feeling the pain from his old wounds and Kazvo has his monologue proclaiming that not xenos but Varsoreth's old enemy is coming, and as the sky starts ripping itself apart above; with The Portal playing as the background music, the moment feels so incredibly epic that it starts to make my eyes water. Truly amazing writing with this one, along with absolutely brilliant narration and audio. Thank you for this one Vox!
