@@paramite67 Yes i noticed, and it´s not like this is a news thing either, the Empire has a missile/melee hybrid unit since the first game with the Free Company Militia. And the Dwarfs are pretty much all hybrid units as their missile units all are great melee fighters (for missile units at least) too. But in game 3 this seems to be especially prevalent in arty units, because the not just Khorne and Ogres but Kislev and Cathay as well and the Soulgrinder all Chaos factions get is more or less everything in one.
I'm going to be honest: While realism is never a big thing in Warhammer, the fact that some of those ogre units are weak against armor seems odd. I don't care how tough your armor is, if a thing that big comes at you with a massive hammer, you're going to get crushed or at least the impact from the blows would be so strong that your bones and organs would take a beating, even if the armor itself didn't cave in. But I do get it from a gameplay balancing perspective obviously.
in the tabletop, ogre bulls had a special armor piercing ability due to using gigantic clubs--however, using bladed weapons--like the ironfist--negated that bonus, as the blades while still massive, aren't as obscenely effective against armor--the ironfists gave an extra attack though, as well as counting as a shield. the armor piercing was reeaally good though.
I keep hoping that Greesus' cart is an April fool, but then I remember it's February. I suppose when you zoom out it's hard to know the difference but zoomed in, it's pretty bad.
I think the ogre cav has too much armour but that's just me, I'm not sure why kislev cav has less armour than an ogre riding a bigass wolf Maybe the ogres will really have to rely on their cav, that's why the cav is statwise so good. They're all monster cav so easy to shoot, high armour potentially for that reason
I'm just waiting for someone to pull the Invisible Ninja Ogres stack in MP. And all-stalk army of Hunters, Gorgers and Gnoblar Trappers. Should be hilarious to troll people with.
From what I played here is my least favorite unit and most favorite unit for the Ogres Least: Sabretusk, they are way too weak for me, even as a flanking enemy they die way too quickly for my taste, though they are a bit good for pursuing broken enemies to do more damage on them. Most:Leadbealchers, they fire some devastating blasts and can easily rip enemies to shred, they are basically an Artillery piece that can somewhat fight back better in close range. They also are great for sniping big units or heroes.
Uhm, is it just me or are the stats on the Crushers insane (19:48 timestamp)? Just from looking at it I'd guess they'd have a good shot at knocking Blood Knights down from the number 1 spot... Didn't expect the Ogres out of all factions to have such amazing cavalry haha!
Don't forget they are only 12 models in a unit, it is a big disadvantaged to have such a low number, I am curious to see what they do against bloodknights and grailknights
@@AnarexicSumo yes that's the name of it! Yeah it's obviously the DLC unit. Along with some special character of choice. Not sure what other units are missing though. This roster is pretty complete.
I'm not happy about the weapons of the Ogre bulls and the other units that use the wooden club with rocks tied to it. I understand that the meteor that wiped out most of the Ogre population, and essentially sent them back to the 'stone age'. But at this point it's ridiculous. A civilization that can forge saddles, armour, silverware, and cannons and crossbows should have the basic metallurgy skills required to outfit thier units with basic, steel/iron maces. It's not a big deal, but it just ruins the look and feel of the units to me.
That’s the thing though, the Ogres don’t actually have that technology. Most of what the Ogres have is stuff that they’ve looted, purchased, or have been paid with. The ones that do actually do all the higher tech crafting are the heavily repressed Gnoblars who typically die before they can do anything too meaningful. Anything the Ogres themselves actually make are the cobbled together pieces of armor and basic weapons, as they don’t bother with anything else, partially because they’re stupid, partially because it keeps them strong, mainly because they just haven’t stopped to think about it (or any other finer details) with their constant hunger and desire to escape/please the Maw.
I wonder if having artillery with just one model but make it into a sort of chariot based, with speed, was just a design choice or more because of domination battles. It seems having speedy artillery for those might at least ensure they get to be used there properly.

Now that the Firebelly can be shown in gameplay can we finally rename him the Spicy Boi?
You should do another one of those polls which faction people are gonna play first, now that its all been revealed! I'd be interested to see the changes
Lots of incremental upgrades in this roster, specific playstyle and getting better at it, but not very varied.
I'm looking forward to finally being able to do a campaign with an army I actually play on tabletop (AoS instead of WHFB, but same army).
Sweet, had that feeling with Dawn of War
same.
AoS does not exist.
@@BonzoDrummer the higher sales figure and support says otherwise, o butthurt one
Did part 2 come out? I can't seem to find it anywhere but it has been 3 months

Ripping em limb from limb! Eatin till ya can't eat no more! The Great Maw is hungry!! Devour for the Ogre Kingdoms!"

When will part two be coming I really like the ogres but I want to learn mor strategy
For them
Initially thought goldtooth was Santa
has santa ever farted in the fireplace ?
@@paramite67 it’s how he breaks into an entering
Was there ever a part II to this?
Woah, I may have finally found my alter ego faction opposite of high elves. Never really took to the other factions, but this ohhh yeah.
The Ogre units have more armour than they look like. Give them something like "hard skin: 5% ward save" and less armour. They just have a plate on their belly and 90 armour...
Most of their vital organs are actually in their gut area, so it actually makes perfect sense
The models looked amazing. I'd be in love with the Ogre Hunter if it didn't have that tusk stuck in his head.
Hey Zerk, long-time lurker here! Did part 2 of this ever come out? Can't seem to find it, np if not.
Please make part two
unfortunately Maneaters are all looking like pirates! there are the thicc Ninjas [ 2 tons of pure sneakiness ]
hopefully we ll get them in a Golgfag dlc
thanks so much for this
I just hope the game will be fine on release bec I did the stupid thingy and preordered...
I “think” this is one of those occasions (like with Elden Ring) where you are probably safe with the preorder.
i waited, still gonna oreorder today
Game 1 and 2 were good so something would have to go horrifically wrong for this to be bad.
Ogre Arty seems like an Arty-Chariot hybrid, just like that Khorne Cannon.
i think its one of the theme of this 3rd episode, many units have mixed uses, like Kislev one's
Can’t wait for the thunder tusk to show up
Great work
I'm going to be honest: While realism is never a big thing in Warhammer, the fact that some of those ogre units are weak against armor seems odd. I don't care how tough your armor is, if a thing that big comes at you with a massive hammer, you're going to get crushed or at least the impact from the blows would be so strong that your bones and organs would take a beating, even if the armor itself didn't cave in. But I do get it from a gameplay balancing perspective obviously.
in the tabletop, ogre bulls had a special armor piercing ability due to using gigantic clubs--however, using bladed weapons--like the ironfist--negated that bonus, as the blades while still massive, aren't as obscenely effective against armor--the ironfists gave an extra attack though, as well as counting as a shield. the armor piercing was reeaally good though.
they would be ridiculously broken if this was the case.
OGRES, my lord.
I can not wait to fuck around with the Firebelly
where is the part 2 ?...
Iron blaster and the scrap launcher are both anti-infantry. The iron blaster shot is also 5 cannon balls IIRC.
The iron blaster tears shreds off SEM
Ogre Kingdoms seem like a juicy target for my Khornate horde
Part 2?
Skrag + Gorgers Doomstack. Awww yeah~!
Are you actually planning on ever making all of these part two videos?
2:14 Great Axe Infantry. Great. Axe. That does not like an Axe to me.
I keep hoping that Greesus' cart is an April fool, but then I remember it's February. I suppose when you zoom out it's hard to know the difference but zoomed in, it's pretty bad.
Oh I am an Ogre kingdoms guy alright
Am I the only one that slightly blew air through the nose at "arsebelcher"? @6:02
I think the ogre cav has too much armour but that's just me, I'm not sure why kislev cav has less armour than an ogre riding a bigass wolf
Maybe the ogres will really have to rely on their cav, that's why the cav is statwise so good. They're all monster cav so easy to shoot, high armour potentially for that reason
I think the logic is that the hides of the creatures is basically armor. Crushers are basically rhinos.
Cant wait till they release some Gnoblar Legendary Lord in DLC so you can go full Gnobbo.
I'm just waiting for someone to pull the Invisible Ninja Ogres stack in MP. And all-stalk army of Hunters, Gorgers and Gnoblar Trappers. Should be hilarious to troll people with.
From what I played here is my least favorite unit and most favorite unit for the Ogres
Least: Sabretusk, they are way too weak for me, even as a flanking enemy they die way too quickly for my taste, though they are a bit good for pursuing broken enemies to do more damage on them.
Most:Leadbealchers, they fire some devastating blasts and can easily rip enemies to shred, they are basically an Artillery piece that can somewhat fight back better in close range. They also are great for sniping big units or heroes.
what about the leadbelchers? were they nt available in multiplayer?
Nice Ogre-view ;)
Is there a such thing as a part 2 to any of these videos?
I love how the stonehorn's face morphs, like it has eyebrows to give it expressions. pretty ridiculous
Boy, this fat Santa Claus will never be played be me. Holy crap. Ridicioulus
@@Thibull Its an advantage when you have healing magic.
@@SilverforceX yes but trollguts cost so much winds of magic it's only worth on lords heroes or stonehorns really
Not to mention they deal splash damage I think. That splits their damage up a bit fighting in crowds
@@Thibull I believe Indy and Legend both said crushers are great targets.
Thankfully, no fliers, because they'd probably break the backs of any flying creatures...and then feed on them.
Interesting no Frost Mammoth. I swore I saw it on a look at their buildings...
There's the Thunder tusk which isnt a mammoth but is a gigantic icy wooly unstoppable murder beast. They're obvious DLC bait.
@@AnarexicSumo yes that's the name of it! Yeah it's obviously the DLC unit. Along with some special character of choice.
Not sure what other units are missing though. This roster is pretty complete.
Should we be worried about Greasus having a dark spot in the middle of his trousers?
Ogres don't forge cannons, they take it from others. Learn yo lore bruh
@Zerkovich, where are the part 2s? I know this is like your other unit guides where thats all you cover, but you are blue balling me for a part 2.
Does anyone know what the hunter uses for the missile attack, or does he just spit really hard
The Javelin he’s carrying?
Javelins
Stonehorne harpoon launcher looks like a viable doomstack lol
I wonder if having artillery with just one model but make it into a sort of chariot based, with speed, was just a design choice or more because of domination battles. It seems having speedy artillery for those might at least ensure they get to be used there properly.
It was a model in the tabletop game, it just so happened that multiple of the factions set for Warhammer 3 had chariot-esque artillery so it feels like a theme
@@dylanhughes8457 I assumed so, but the amount of models per unit is also 1 on tabletop?
@@SusaVile yup, same with the skullcannon. It'll be the same for the chaos dwarves when they come out, all of their artillery are single large machines
