Aman, I really love your style of teaching: asking good questions to encourage students to be observant, praising them when they do well, speaking so compassionately and checking in with them. All of that really matters when learning how to drive. An instructor can really make or break a student driver's spirit and willingness to learn (speaking from experience), and as I watch your videos, I am glad to see you helping to create so many safe, skilled, and confident drivers. 🙏🏾
This is exactly what I needed, driving in the rain on dual carriageways gives me such anxiety! My instructor said "drive to the conditions" but I don't know how fast etc. Savannah did so well, so this really helped! Thank you both for showing us how it's done ❤ Ps) the Hogarth Flyover gets me every time, I cannot go over it 😂
It's definitely no set speed. It's dependent on the normal limit for dry conditions, traffic, type of road etc. You should bare in mind your stopping distance is longer in wet conditions and to keep bigger distances between other vehicles, brake earlier and gently etc
I’ve been watching your videos for the past few months whilst learning to drive. Thank for all the guidance and tips along the way! Your videos helped me pass with zero minors today!
A consummate professional at work, great stuff Aman! The way you conducted the lesson was a joy to watch and being done so efficiently too in such conditions. My driving lessons were well over a decade and a bit years ago but watching your videos reminds me of how it felt back then learning every lesson.
I remember my first time on a dual carriageway on my lesson…. Torrential rain, lots of spray from lorries… I was so glad I experienced that under the guidance of my instructor. She kept me calm and thoroughly explained about driving in such heavy rain and the increase of hazards.
Brave girls these are. As a fully grown man, I would hide inside my room, wont even think about driving in case the lightening turns me into peri peri chicken
To reassure you, you’re protected in a car. The lightning passes through the car into the ground. The main issue is damage to the cars electrics, antenna and the tires.
I m driving 17 years a nd full car licence. I m so nervous to drive around around Dublin or Cork city. because the traffic are going too fast. as a slow learner I m confident to drive drive around waterford or kilkenny. I have no penalty points or I don't speed. as a child I almost got knocked as a child by a car. every time I start my car that memory comes back to me to remain me to drive safely. overall I love driving . when I passed my driving test. I broke down in tears. as a slow learner it me longer to drive. in Ireland learner drivers could go out on their own. I first spoke to my driver instructor and then went for short drives on my own to build up my confidence. small steps. Happy driving 🚗

A few little tips for driving in the rain treat the roads like ice especially if you've had a long dry period as the roads can be like ice with the oils coming out .keep everything nice and smooth. If possible avoid large puddles and if to go through drive slowly through aiim for the crown of the road. Pot holes tend to be at the edge and hidden. If you've made a mistake and missed seeing the puddle try to slow down but if the worst happens and you do aquaplane keep the steering wheel straight you don't want the front wheels to grip and to be turned

You did brilliant ( ex coach driver here )
Sound travels with a speed of about 330 meters per second. It took about 3 seconds from the flash until I heard the rumble. Thus the lightning was about 1 kilometer (0.6 miles) away.
09:05 the chevron road markings means that you’re in a one-way direction of flow travel part of the road and traffic will be passing on both sides of the chevron markings going in the same direction, as per rule 130 of the Highway Code, as they’re bordered by solid white lines you must not enter the area except for in an emergency.
Just as a constructive point to Savannah - the test examiner will be mighty impressed if on a test you give way to the man crossing the road at 24:58. The Highway Code changed I think last year to say pedestrians have the right of way crossing the mouth of roads I think. But only if safe - no cars tailgating behind and if your speed is lowish as you don’t want to break suddenly and cars go into the back of you. Tbh most pedestrians still follow old rules of cars having priority - not like the French who walk out! But Aman will advise you and know more than me, as conceivably the rules might apply to different roads etc.
Damn I wish I was in the UK so I could learn with you! You make it look so easy. Right now I'm learning with my dad and let's say the volume of our voices rises real fast 😆

Hello Aman, Thoroughly enjoyed watching this driving video clip, particularly on wet London roads. Silly question but happens if a car breaks down on the single lane Hammersmith flyover?
09:16 yes, when a slip road leaves there’s usually one that joins, well done for driving in lane 1, the very left most lane is the lane to drive in if you’re not overtaking anybody and if you’re not turning right, lane 2 is for overtaking vehicles in lane 1, lane 3 is for overtaking vehicles in lane 2 or for turning right.
"having two poles;" see bi- "two" + polar. It is attested from 1810 in the figurative sense of "of double aspect;" by 1859 with reference to anatomy ("having two processes from opposite poles," of nerve cells). Psychiatric use in reference to what had been called manic-depressive psychosis is said to have begun 1957 with German psychiatrist Karl Leonhard. The term became popular early 1990s. Bipolar disorder was in DSM III (1980).
Aman that is not Hammersmith Bridge. We have always called it the shaky bride due to it shaking when crossing, thankfully it has been repaired. Hammersmith Bridge has been out of commission for a number of years, a beautiful Bridge linking Hammersmith & Fulham with Barns
