My personal headcanon is that in the pokemon world, the pokeball symbol is some sort of repeating symbol that occurs in nature all over the place, sort of like how in real life the golden spiral appears in a bunch of stuff like flowers and snail shells
1. thats for foonguss not amoonguss 2. its not confirmed "There is a theory that the developer of the modern-day Poké Ball really liked Foongus, but this has not been confirmed."
Its interesting that both Jigglypuff and Misdreavus are stone evolutions... maybe in the past they weren't able to get to those stones and thus had to toughen up in their unevolved forms?
It's likely that the process of traveling through the portal powers the mup, similar to the Ultra beasts getting empowered by energy fro mthe wormholes.
The name “roaring moon” is also a nice throwback to one of mega salamence’s dex entries, that says due to its brutality it was known as the “blood soaked crescent”. So we’ve got “roaring moon” in the past, and in the present day it’s became “blood soaked crescent”.
I have an idea for a official dex entry for Roaring Moon if it does get an official dex entry that isn't empty: [Version 1]: "This Pokemon bares a similarity with Salamence and a form from a distant region. Believed to be Salamence's Ancestor, this Pokemon is among one of the most savage and most dangerous. It's believed this Pokemon is responsible for countless mass extinction of Bird Pokemon. It was believed to have clashed with it's kind the most over territorial struggles or food." [Version 2:]: "Thousands of years ago, this Pokemon was the Apex Predator of the Skies. It's believed this Pokemon is the ancestor of Salamence. Roaring Moon has a similar shape to a form of Salamence in a distant region, It was nicknamed ''The Blood-Soaked Hurricane" from how vicious this Pokemon performed to tribes and prey in the past. Ancient People in the past have mistaken this Pokemon for Hydreigon due to this Pokemon's Brutality." [Version 3:] "This Pokemon shares a extreme rivalry with Hydreigon and is believed to be the cause of Hydreigon's extreme paranoia. Sharing similar DNA and a ancestor to Salamence and Bagon, Roaring Moon is most active at night, having terrorized ancient peoples and clashed with it's own kind over territorial struggles or food. It is believed the struggle for food was what killed off this species of Salamence."
The paranormal magazine stuff makes sense. In Scarlet, the Scarlet Book notes the ancient pokemon but the future pokemon is just conspiracy, and visa vera in violet
It does the other way around in Violet. With the robots being the monsters seen in the expedition journal, and the prehistoric dire beasts being the things that look like creatures from works of fiction. The only verifiable information we have on these Pokémon is the fact that they were in the Great Crater of Paldea long, long before the Professor invented their time machine. Our only other sources are the Expedition Journal, where they couldn't get too close to the creatures without getting killed. and Occulture Magazine, which is nothing but pure fiction. Frankly this is exciting! With the Ultra Beasts, there were people who have been studying them for years in secret, which is how we know so much about them despite them being from other universes. With the Paradoxes, the only real experts on them are either dead or just making crap up! No one knows anything about these Pokémon- many can't even bring themselves to see these things AS Pokémon!
Scream Tail being from 1 billion years ago is cute considering it resembles Mew/Mewtwo. With Mew being the Pokémon from which all others evolved, Jigglypuff could be one of its closest relatives.
I know a lot of people are talking about Mega Salamance and Roaring Moon, but no one is talking about Mega Gallade and Iron Valiant. A lot of people say it’s a mix of the two evolutions but there’s also a bit of mega in there too. Take a look at it and you can see some similarities. I'm glad he mentioned this in the video
its more so a mix of both if it is a mega evolution nod, because it has a mix of gallade and gardeviors cry. thats basically them saying "yea we know its a mix between the two"
Seriously, Glimmora should have been first, and kingambit last. It only makes sense. But seems like they were more focused on the colors matching for her ace sadly
They did it that way so the e4 + champion represent the 5 types that arent used mainly by gym leaders/star bases, in other words the 5 types of the titans. Rika is ground, poppy is steel, Larry is flying, hassel is dragon, and geeta is rock because her ace is glimmers. They could've changed poppy into a rock user and made geeta's ace a steal tera kingambit tho, which amazes me that she didnt, especially since shes the chairwoman and basically bosses everyone around. They could've even made the kingambit shiny too and it would sorta match her outfit
@@uzumakimadeit Hell her ace doesn't even need to match her outfit. Cynthia's outfit is Umbreon inspired, and the only time she ever had an Eeveelution on her team it was a glacion lmao (her teams in Black and White 2). Plus why does kingambit need to terra to steel or dark? Its not like any of the gym leaders terra'd to one of their natural typings (except Larry). Her Kingambit even has stone edge, so its not like they need to change anything about it. And they can just swap Glimorra's Terra Blast with Power Gem or (if they lead with it) stealth rock, both are better options for it anyway.
Was just looking at its moveset and it really gets Stealth Rocks, helping hand, skill swap, knock off, ice hammer for ground types, encore, and a lot of other good stuff but yeah most of the time it’s just Gigaton Hammer
But couldn’t they just lower the signature move power to 85-100 then Pokémon increase the attack stats to 100 or 95 because gigaton hammer works like a giga impact, which is not very viable or at least to my standards
The fact you can clearly see Larvesta and Volcanrona in Slither Wing implies its somewhere inbetween both in terms of evolution. Like Darwinian Evolution, which these games confirm exist in the Pokémon Universe now
It's also likely that due to how similar Volcarona and Slither Wing are, Volcarona is Slither Wings that have mastered flight and has thus, long past the needs of fighting physically.
I'm just gonna say that I think both the Occulture Magazine of Scarlet and Violet exist in the world. We just don't get to see it. We see this most prominently when Arven is reading about the different Herba Mystica and what each of them do but we can't read those pages despite having access to the Scarlet or Violet book at the academy. Also Heath didn't write those Magazines. Someone else did. As for Brute Bonnet and it's Foonguss related family. I theorize that they are trying to imitate Apricorns, Voltorb, or some kind of berry with that same coloration. To us, it's an absolute shit job and looks like a Pokeball. To wild Pokemon though, the success rate must've been high enough that not only was that kept, but Brute Bonnet specialized in using it to ambush. And then the success rate of this was high enough that even Stunfisk developed a regional variant that uses this same kind of lure. For Sandy Shocks, need I remind you that ancient civilizations created Pokemon? Pokemon like Magearna? So I'm pretty sure they could have something like screws and stuff. Evolution does some funny things. In some cases your descendants get stronger. In others, they get weaker but specialized. In Roaring Moon's case, evolution was very kind and only made it stronger. It is proud of its grandson.
They actually DO exist in-game too. These magazines are in the school library, and you can see Ancient Suicune/Raikou/Entei and Future Verizon/Terakion/Cobalion in it.
@@SomeAsian I meant that the Violet entries of the magazines probably exist in Scarlet and vice versa. We just don't get to see or read them. The same with the Scarlet and Violet book. There are definitely pages and entries that are in that book that we can't read for whatever reason.
Or, hear me out. The magazine is only referenced in the version the mon isn't native to. I.E. past mons mention magazine in viiolet. In the native reality the paradox mon are in the scarlet/violet book and the non-native paradoxes are in this weird magazine that some has info from the other version/reality
Been waiting for this one. My favorite might be sandy shocks: it's goofy but totally makes sense as an early magnemite. It's magnetized sand that is beginning to stick together and harden into magnemite
@@applesauce1348 not ferro fluid, but more like iron that's caught in its magnetic field you can see videos of iron(or other metals) reacting the same way on an actual magnet
Some animals lose certain traits because its not useful to them anymore. So Amoonguss losing its tail and legs wouldn't be a huge surprise in mother nature. Edit: Paradox Salamence is technically stronger because of its ability.
Roaring Moon also has a more useful stat spread. Faster, hits a bit harder and is overal bulkier. It hates Fairy as much as Salamence hates Ice, and has one more weakness, but it also has one more resistance
Not that there's a logical explanation to it, but if I remember correctly, the original inventor of the pokeball was apparently inspired by Amoonguss' design. So it makes sense that Brute Bonnet looks like that, because that design came long before the invention of pokeballs. No idea how that makes sense or what that pattern would do you good in the wild though.
Yeah, I feel it wouldve made more sense that BB had a VAGUELY wild red-and-white-ish design and modern Amoongus just made it into a pokeball to adapt to the invention. It would’ve driven home the theme of past vs. modern evolution.
I mean the red and white pattern is actually really good for it because of the spikes on its head. It probably just lies in wait until something leaps on it and gets impaled by its spikes
Then the problem is why would the PokeBall inventor design it as a literal trap. Since gen 5 the two pokemon have been looking like PokeBall to catch people unaware
The oddities of the Paradoxes starts making sense if you go with the theory that the Scarlet/Violet Book completely made them up, not caring about accuracy at all, and then the Professor in their obsession made their dreams of seeing the creatures from the Book come true with the so called "time" machine like 10 years ago, when all the sightings from the Occulture Magazines and such started happening.
@@yeezhernng4645 its not a theory, the Chinese version of the games uses this as the explanation of where the paradox mons come from, when using this context, it makes sense why sandy shocks has 🧲, nuts and bolts for a prehistoric mon when it wouldnt exist otherwise.
Iron Valiant's Occulture entry states that it resembles Gardevoir and Gallade as it is the result of a mad scientist trying to create the perfect Psychic type (which makes its typing really ironic). So either it has ties to the creation of Mewtwo, or someone didn't learn the lesson.
personally would love a game where the "special" pokémon are ALL experiments, not just one or two. give me a plot where a lab got destroyed and they got sent loose Mewtwo-style
My theory is that roaring moon looks like mega salamence because mega evolution is a sort of primal reversion because of mega airedactols Dex entry which says that it’s mega was its true form.
It also alludes to a possible southern Kalos DLC, as it states it has something in common with a certain phenomenon in a certain region. Meaning it is possible Mega Evolution is possible in the Universe, and is limited to a certain region.
@@TheCoasterConnorisseur so similar to how dynamac and gigantamax is only possible in galar? Could it be that since the ancient weapon was fired in kalos, it spread the mega energy in that area, and ig the megastones get somehow deactivated when outside the region?
@@itszefas no you can mega evolve and use z moves in any region like in the games and anime, as you can mega evolve in oras and lgpe and in the anime, you can mega evolve in galar as well as use z moves there
@@callmesilver2683 i meant they might be retconning it to work like that, since it specifically states "in a certain region" instead of "popular in other regions"

I believe the machine in Area Zero is not so much a time machine, but a machine that makes fantasies realities. It was just that Turo and Sada were so obsessed with the past/future Heath invented for them, they made it reality. This explains why there are so many occult magazines, but they differ in Scarlet and Violet which ones are real, it was just a matter of who got to the crater first to make real the occult magazines.
@@Samrules888 And that's why going Mega causes it pain- modern day Aerodactyls lack the important genes to allow it's body to accept the changes. Because those genes were taken out of it so the scientists reviving it can have a living specimen.
Your creative takes and idle musings with each design were far more intriguing than I was prepared for. Nice editing quality as well as music queue timing, etc.
It's almost like the future Pokémon are based off the description of original pokémon and some scientists in the future tried to recreated them based of what they thought they looked like in the past
That entry also states that we don’t know if that’s even true. We know Laventon developed the first proper functional balls and the art of crafting them was passed down by the man in Johto but we can’t be sure if either of them came into contact with Foonguss and were inspired by it.
@@itsturniptime3699 That's not true as Laventon just adapted the Apricorn methods to using Tumblerstones which could be found in Hisui. Laventon is just the earliest person we've seen producing balls. According to Bulbapedia (keep in mind that this old lore so it may've been discarded), the modern Pokeball is actually extreme recent as a Professor Westwood from Celedon made the modern design (I'm guessing he came up with modern mechanisms to take advantage of a Pokemon's ability to shrink itself and digitize it for the PC systems as he got his inspiration when he saw a Primape curl up and shrink into his glasses case).
@@blackmark2899 Wtf? I thought Pokéballs shrunk the Pokémon like how Bulma's capsules from DBZ can shrink vehicles, houses and other objects. It makes no sense for all Pokémon to be able to shrink themselves.
@@lucifermorningstar8562 That's the offical lore. I don't write it, I just recite it. It was mentioned twice. Once with Westwood and the other in PLA from Professor Laventon. So yeah, Pokemon apparently could always shrink themselves down.
@@blackmark2899 That's retarded. Then why did they always have pokeballs shoot red beams of light that Pokémon can dodge? I always assumed it was like a shrink ray. That's how it seemed in the anime. Really wish Legends Arceus didn't make that stupid shit canon.
I preferred Violets plot and riding Miraidon, but the Past paradox pokemon and seeing them roam in area zero look way more fitting and badass imo. Favourite paradox pokemon is Great Tusk for sure, then Roaring Moon. Favourite new mon is Kilowattrel and then Baxcalibur.
I like how both the 590 BST paradoxes have elements of mega evolution like roaring moon’s wings and allusion to mega salamance and iron valiant having both gardevoir’s wider dress and galade’s longer red blades
The only thing trying to balance Mecha-Ttar and Mecha-Hydreigon is the ability Quark Drive. The thing is that their base stats are so bad, having one monster stat doesn't feel worth it. Plus, Mecha-Ttar loses Sandstream which is one of the best abilities being that it shores up the special defense stat. In addition, Mecha-Hydreigon even in Electric terrain now has to watch out for electric types since it lost its dragon typing in order to keep the ground immunity
The thing with Salamance and Roaring Moon is that even if the second's BST is less, it has more speed, attack, HP and sp. def than regular Salamance. Also less defense and special attack, but salamance is usually a physical attacker so... Salamanced just evolved to be more balanced.
I knew roaring moon looked like mega salemence but I didn't realize how similar iron valiant looked the a mix of mega gardevoir and mega gallade I thought a was a mix of regular gardevoir and gallade
@@Snowleaper nah man, only roaring moon and great tusk are great in scarlet imo. I don't like scream tail, Slither wing, Sandy shocks a'd brute bonnet at all. Flutter mane and koraidon are good, but not great. Violet however, has all great ones. Iron hands is extremely good, followed closely by miraidon and iron valiant. Iron thorns and iron moth look great to, while iron bundle is extremely adorable. All 6 of these are great (we don't speak of iron treads and iron jugulis) In the normal mon department violet wins to. Dragapult and clawitzer are some of my all time favorites, and I adore Swalot, salamence and ceruledge aswell. Others for which I not really care eclipse their counterparts as well. Passimian, eiscue, misdreavus and others I am forgetting atm.
Actually the recent foongus Pokedex entries talk about how the creator of the modern pokeball loves them Pokemon so that's why I brute bonnet still looks like a pokeball because it's ancestor inspired it
The entries from the opposite games reference the Occulture magazines that can be found in the entrance hall of the school, because those are the only sources of them existing since heath only saw the version exclusive paradoxes on his journey. He never cited the magazines because they most likely didn't exist 100 years ago when he published the scarlet/violet book
Great Tusks really feels like a real dread. The ancient pokemons look way more cooler and dangerous then the future robots. I always think that a person will feel a little insecurity after looking at a robot in a distance or in a picture. But he will be terrified by seeing a giant elephant kind of creature in a distance who can smell or hear sounds. Plus, it is really difficult to create a lore with robots as most of the time they serve the same purpose. The ancient pokemon are easy enough to add in any story related to a legendary pokemon or a mythical location.
I think it made sense for Roaring Moon to have 590. "Mega Evolution" FORCED Pokemons to revert to their primal powers, but this FORCED reversion made them stronger but also is killing themselves. That's why Pokedex entries about megas are like "this is such a burden for the pokemon, it's incredibly irritated" or something.
I absolutely loves Duchsbun cause I always wanted GameFreak to make a fairy pupper ❤❤❤, for my favorite paradox form it has to go to Iron Valiant, I didn’t like it design much but I currently added one to my team in Scarlet and my fondness of it has grown the more times I’ve use it in battle
The "paranormal magazine" talked about in the dex entries probably refers to the Occulture books you can read on the bookshelves in the school, which also talk about these paradox mons.
I think it'd be funny if there are two cults in the game, one with Sada obsessed with the past and one with Turo obsessed with the future. And they both made their own books and then the other cult just turns up making fun of them and calling their book a paranormal cult magazine. Imagine we see the other prof in the DLC trying to revive the time machine and get the future pokemon in Scarlet and vice versa
i think the reason why their is a violet entry for pokemon like Great Tusk is because pokemon violet needs an entry for every pokemon, and when you put a scarlet exclusive into violet using pokemon home, it has a special violet entry
I prefer Scarlet by far, at least during the playthrough. I wanted to hear your thoughts on Iron Valiant's elbow blades turning into a poleblade because I thought that made it even more sick than it already was xD
I just thought of something, what if Iron Moth’s sighting as a UFO scared it into secrecy? I mean, if people are seeing it and thinking it’s a UFO it can clearly fly a good height. So it probably got worried that it was spotted and just returned to the crater until people forgot about them. I quite like the personal data collector moth.
@@phazerx4525 I mean, it could have arrived from the future, try to fly out of the pit, and then get spooked back inside after realizing "oh dang people notice me."
something interesting about the mega evolution and regressing thing: some of mega aerodactyl's pokedex entries describe it as having the complete DNA from when it used to live millions of years ago. so mega evolution seems to bring out some of a pokemon's inactive genes from millions of years ago which is why roaring moon resembles mega salamence.
Honestly when it comes down to the Paradox mons strictly these are the only ones i love from both Scarlet & Violet Ancient Paradox Mons - Slither Wing, Roaring Moon, Great Tusk, Flutter Mane & Koraidon Future Paradox Mons - Iron Thorns, Iron Valiant & Miraidon
You're overthinking this, TTar. The "dubious magazine" is just the devs trying to give a Violet parallel to the "ancient book" in Scarlet pokedex. Anyways, loved the reaction as always. The like button was deservingly shanked.
My best guess on the dubious magazine bit as that whatever game you have has the official Scarlet/Violet book and then the magazine in reference is more akin to someone making a Bigfoot or alien sighting magazine more recently. The Scarlet/Violet book is called a journal in their respective games, as if they were made to be somewhat credible or official but the “dubious magazine” sounds like it was never taken seriously. Obviously the books were eventually regarded as lies but they were written in a way that’s like someone taking serious notes of strange phenomenon as opposed to a sensational magazine article meant for entertainment
A common theory that's also supported by canon in some instances is that most object/food pokemon came before human-made objects; the humans were inspired by the pokemon.
Damn, you grew up man! I havent seen your content since gen 7. I kinda got out of Pokemon for a bit but I'm back all caught up and loving gen 9! Gonna subscribe this time!
Thought of some "traditional" names for the Paradox mons Great Tusk: Mastodonphas Slither Wing: Vulcanoptera Brute Bonnet: Amungabunguss Scream Tail: Rigglyruff Flutter Mane: Misgrievus Sandy Shocks: Magnemagnus Roaring Moon: Selemandra Iron Treads: Tronphan Iron Moth: Solmoth Iron Valiant: Gallator Iron Hands: Volteyama Iron Bundle: Delibot Iron Jugulis: Triceptor Iron Thorns: Tyranitron
i think iron valiant does have mega gardevoir elements, their dress is mega gardevoir's and not normal gardevoir's since its more ballgown-y and not a streamlined or flowy
I just realized that Roaring Moon’s Pokédex entry confirm that these games are set in the Mega timeline. And since Sonia’s book is also found in the academy library, that means Sword and Shield also takes place in the Mega timeline.
This has nothing to do with the video, but I just realized the pikaclones are basically convergent evolutions of pikachu, like how wiglett is to diglett
Not gonna lie, kind of disappointed that ancient Salamence wasn't a Dragon/Rock type that was grounded since normal Salamence was known to be a mutation of Shelgon due to its great desire to fly Also, regarding the Scarlet and Violet books, how did Heath come up with the covers of Kuraidon and Muraidon if Sada/Turo brought in the only ones? Isn't it also interesting that this is the first time that aliens are being mentioned since the space man in gen 7?
i have a theory about the violet paradoxes that they werent the result of any disasters, but were instead made to carry out specific things, iron bundle to deliver presents to kids faster than delibird would, iron valiant to fight big threats (most regions in pokemon always end up dealing with catastrophic threats, the whole weather thing in hoenn, the dialga and palkia thing in sinnoh, word would eventually spread around and after scientists in paldea managed to discover the technology to make the robots, they made several iron valiants to fight against any threats that could face paldea) the only irons i dont see any reasons for are iron treads and iron thorns,,, another thing i wanna say is that the great crater may have been a result of the ultimate weapon eventually crashing down in that exact spot, considering kalos is apperantly really close to paldea, and considering the ultimate weapon managed to create a whole separate branch in the timeline and everything, it may have landed there and shifted things around in area zero, accidentally bringing a few paradox pokemon in, and perhaps awakening the dormant third legendary causing it to spread out its crystals?? these are the things i think of to help myself cope with most stuff that doesnt make sense i need help 🙏
also i guess ai turo who went into the future couldve just goofed and accidentally sent a few things back by accident but that doesnt sound as cool lmao
Personally I went into the game blind with no leaks, when I saw Iron Valiant, I immediately thought of mega gallade, not even gardevoir, so I don’t think yours trippin about that, Iron Valiants counterpart is Roaring Moon and they both look like the base Pokémon’s mega, which I think is leading into Kalos DLC in the future which would be hype
I’d like to note that while iron jugulus and roaring moon have a lower base stat total, thier stats are WAY more optimized. Example being roaring moons spAtk is much lower than default salamnce and they put those stats in attack.
A part of the appeal of the violet paradox forms is the lore implications. 1. For some reason or another, mankind would come to need machines that resembled pokemon from the current era. 2. Most of the future forms are weak to iron valiant’s type in some way. You might be asking, “well what about iron moth?”. Iron valiant also has access to psycho cut to act as coverage. 2. The inconsistency of their origins shows just how little is known about them.
With what Ttar is saying about sandy shocks, maybe the pokemon were sent back in time it to the future and then brought back to modern times after adapting for a while
Fun fact in mega Salamence’s Pokémon moon dex entry it says it’s been dubbed “the blood-soaked crescent” imagine if they named Roaring Moon that it would be so much cooler
I always hated looking at the Pokemon entries because all it tells you is that it looks like a Pokémon from a magazine from ancient/future. And if you wanna read that magazine, you gotta go to the bookshelves in the academy, and they're in no order nor are they saved for easier viewing. And they're scattered all around the lobby. If you wanna find your fave, good luck.
@@lucifermorningstar8562 Visable in a portrait in mons of the diamond or pearl houses. More likealy a relative than a time traveling Alder but who knows
What if the Paradox Pokemon really are paradoxes, because we see in PLA Pokemon like Porygon, Mageneton, and Scizor ending up in the past because of the space time rifts. Perhaps those pokemon being the past and them being stuck there really messes up time to the point they start creating actual parodox pokemon.
Potential Spoilers: Their is either a theory or rumor that basically says that the paradox pokemon are actually pokemon that came into existence through the imagination of the 3rd legendary as apposed to being from a different time if memory serves me correctly. This could explain the discrepancies in both the designs and dex entries, but I wouldn't hold my breath on it.
My only question to that entire theory is that why would the Professor would call their machine a time machine? They should know the difference between a time machine and a machine that makes imaginary pokemon real because both of those already exist in the Pokemon world.
@@blackmark2899 could you be more specific on those things already existing? I ask because I am not aware of them existing in game canon, unless we are talking about transferring pokemon from an older generation to a newer one and pokemon that can time travel.
@@justsomeguy7077 Johto (gen 2) made their trade machines as time machine. They specifically said that they were time machines trading into the past. As for the machines that make imagination into reality there is the suite of Dream Machines that Fennel pioneered using Musharna's ability to manifest its dreams into reality. It's how Pokemon with Hidden Abilities got introduced, as Pokemon dreamed up with Abilities they normally wouldn't or shouldn't have, and being brought into reality with that machine.
@@blackmark2899 Ah okay, kind of forgot about Dream Radar. Also, I just read that the paradox pokemon being imaginary might have only been in the Chinese version of the game because the leaker that started the rumor was getting info from China. Don't quote me on that though. The only reason why I personally think the imagination theory is still plausible is because of the sketch of the past beast that looks like a cross between the 3 legendary beasts.
I think the explanation for the paranormal or occult magazines is that for example - Scarlet doesn't have the Violet book in it - so they don't have the images or explanation for the other paradox mons. If the paradox mons doesn't appear in a version they pass it off as if they were a cryptid featured in a magazine - Just like we have Occult or Paranormal magazine that talk about Bigfoot, Ghosts & Stuff
i think iron valiant being the creation of a mad scientist is a reference to eggman and metal sonic. mainly because metal sonic and iron valiant have the same face
Nah it's just meant to be the future's Mewtwo, in the magazine it says that scientist tried to make "the strongest psychic-type pokemon". The future was probably fascinated by Mewtwo's origin.
I’m quite a fan of Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant thematically. In the past, we feared these great and terrible monsters like Roaring Moon. They exist in our myths as dragons, ancient depictions of true evil. In the future, we built our own weapons to fight against those monsters. Iron Valiant, a hero we constructed specifically built to defeat those monsters. Even the typings work too. Dragon/Dark is perfectly countered by Fairy/Fighting. As for how these things exist…I have my doubts that they are truly the Pokémon of the past/future as we know them to be. It’s possible they’re just from an imagined past/future and built off of how we think they would appear.
The theory of mega salamence reverting to roaring moon when mega evolving is pretty much confirmed by aerodactyl and its mega's dex entries stating how normal aerodactyl is not what it actually looked like before revival and mega aerodactyl's dex entry explaining that mega evolution has re awakened its genes to become more accurate looking to its original pre revived form
Mega evolution was always meant to tap into the past DNA of the pokemon that did it especially with xy being a reference to genetics and the double helix in the mega stone, so roaring moon looking alot like m Salamence makes a ton of sense
I have a theory that both sada and turo are arven's parents in both games, and depending on which one left when he was a baby (maybe an argument about whether to find past or future Pokémon?) not only kicks off the split timeline (either turo or sada creating the time machine), but the parent that left is the one that writes the magazine, but because they didn't invent the tera orb etc no one takes them seriously (hence why it's called "dubious")
So me and my brother had two theories about the future Paradox Pokemon: 1) It is depicted in the anime that Pokemon turn into some energy that gets bundled back into the same Pokemon when taken out of the ball. My brother says that future scientists were able to change this "genetic" makeup that the Pokeball encapsulating the Pokemon used to return the body to its original form and made different Pokemon from those, which came out to be like this. 2) I state that all Pokemon in the future died save for a few important ones like the Creation Trio, Weather Trio, Tao Trio etc. and people decided to revive the other Pokemon by taking stored DNA samples, making mecha-versions of the Pokemon they wanted to create, altering the DNA so that the Pokemon was accustomed to the metal body and putting it in there, making a new Pokemon.
Amongus is what inspired the design of red and white pokeball. And it itself has that pattern to make opponents know that it's extremely poisonous and is not to be eaten
I recall in X and Y that when you get Aradacylite, the scientist suggests that Mega Evolution of Aerodactyl gets it's prehistoric form and powers from Mega Evolution. I think Mega Evolution is a mutation that alters the pokemon to a "modified" variation of what it used to be in the ancient past. (Hence why we have Mega Salamance and Roaring Moon look similar) So I think Roaring Moon was the original Salamance, but over time it grew stronger. Meanwhile, I think why Iron Valiant is stronger than the other future pokemon like Iron Jugular and the metal tyranitar was because when they were created, Iron Variant was the *only* successful one to take advantage of the Mega Evolution power since Gardevoir and Galade each have one. Also, now you know why Corviknight Taxis aren't in Paldea. Tinkaton and their rocks are bad for business. (And not enough Talonflames to take the hammers away.)
I’m sad Ttar didn’t see Iron Thorns’ occulture magazine entry. It’s literally the OPPOSITE of regular Tyranitar, in that it’s not violent at all. My favourite Pokémon has to be Glimmora, it’s such a sick design; a crystal poisonous flower, and the typing and ability are awesome too. Favourite paradox is Iron Thorns. I LOVE the colouration and that we get another chance to make the Rock/Electric combo work better. Violet all the way.
The funny thing about shiny Tinkaton is that only the hammer changes. It changes to the same colour that shiny corviknight is. So they make their hammers from corvinkights
7:04 I think this is one of the biggest clues that paradox Pokemon are actually creations from the Disk Pokemon mentioned in the scarlet/violet book. The missing letters on the violet book/the books in area zero research stations are a cyphers that point toward the third legendary being some kind of thermodynamic system that is able to recycle (thoughts, infinity energy… not totally sure yet) and create new versions of Pokemon based on the lens of the professor in each game
I'd like to think that the technology that led to AI Turo eventually lead to the technology that created the future paradox pokemon. In both games its mentioned in the elevator that the AI proffesors were made to think and behave exactly like the og proffesor. The future pokemon could therefore be robotic shells programmed to behave like long extinct pokemon. Its pretty messed up
1:47 Yeah, there is a Magazine in Violet. There’s also one in Scarlet, however, they aren’t actually in the same game as the Pokédex Entries that refer to them. Effectively, the Magazines being referenced can be found in a few places, but the large majority of them show up in the School Library. The Magazines also refer to the Scarlet and Violet book, and using the info there, theorise about the origins of each of the Paradox Pokémon. For Iron Bundle specifically, they theorise it came from an ancient civilisation, so we shouldn’t take the Magazines word as fact.
Apparently, amoonguss's pokedex entry states that the creator of the pokeball design loved amoonguss's pattern
Well that was Foongus but same diff
My personal headcanon is that in the pokemon world, the pokeball symbol is some sort of repeating symbol that occurs in nature all over the place, sort of like how in real life the golden spiral appears in a bunch of stuff like flowers and snail shells
1. thats for foonguss not amoonguss
2. its not confirmed
"There is a theory that the developer of the modern-day Poké Ball really liked Foongus, but this has not been confirmed."
Poor voltorb
@@skakee10 you mean the golden ratio?
Its interesting that both Jigglypuff and Misdreavus are stone evolutions... maybe in the past they weren't able to get to those stones and thus had to toughen up in their unevolved forms?
Magneton may have had to do some adapting as well
Magneton is also a stone evolution as of gen 8. This really doesn't seem like a coincidence.
Darwinist approach
I never even thought about that, makes me wanna see more ancient forms for unevolved stone evo pokemon
That's raw as hell actually
salamence is metal holy shit
I have an idea for a official dex entry for Roaring Moon if it does get an official dex entry that isn't empty:
[Version 1]: "This Pokemon bares a similarity with Salamence and a form from a distant region. Believed to be Salamence's Ancestor, this Pokemon is among one of the most savage and most dangerous. It's believed this Pokemon is responsible for countless mass extinction of Bird Pokemon. It was believed to have clashed with it's kind the most over territorial struggles or food."
[Version 2:]: "Thousands of years ago, this Pokemon was the Apex Predator of the Skies. It's believed this Pokemon is the ancestor of Salamence. Roaring Moon has a similar shape to a form of Salamence in a distant region, It was nicknamed ''The Blood-Soaked Hurricane" from how vicious this Pokemon performed to tribes and prey in the past. Ancient People in the past have mistaken this Pokemon for Hydreigon due to this Pokemon's Brutality."
[Version 3:] "This Pokemon shares a extreme rivalry with Hydreigon and is believed to be the cause of Hydreigon's extreme paranoia.

The paranormal magazine is called Occulture. There are issues in the academy and prof's lighthouse lab.
Vice Versa? Nah, we got Visa Vera
I'm glad he mentioned this in the video
its more so a mix of both if it is a mega evolution nod, because it has a mix of gallade and gardeviors cry. thats basically them saying "yea we know its a mix between the two"
It's a mix *of* the megas tbh
Honestly Iron Valiant is the coolest looking of all the paradoxes.
Well it is a mix of mega galade and mega gardevoir
It also has the Fairy/Fighting type.
Imaging if Kinggambit was Geeta's ace. So it's the last one sent out and supreme overlord has the highest boost
Seriously, Glimmora should have been first, and kingambit last. It only makes sense. But seems like they were more focused on the colors matching for her ace sadly
@Bryce Theobald SwSh has a better "Victory Road" path in general. Team Star and Titans were much more challenging.
@@m05513 because tera steel is WAY better than tera rock
A key part in the galade gardevoir theory lies in its cry. You can hear both of their cries in one in Iron Valient.
The thing with Tinkaton is that it really does make sense for it to have a balanced attack Stat because of its crazy signature move
Might as well only give it two moves: Gigaton Hammer and Protect. Because that's all it's good for.
@@ShayTheValiant fake out in VGC
Was just looking at its moveset and it really gets Stealth Rocks, helping hand, skill swap, knock off, ice hammer for ground types, encore, and a lot of other good stuff but yeah most of the time it’s just Gigaton Hammer
But couldn’t they just lower the signature move power to 85-100 then Pokémon increase the attack stats to 100 or 95 because gigaton hammer works like a giga impact, which is not very viable or at least to my standards
@@joshuaded1052 Way better than Giga Impact. You can protect or use another move next turn
The fact you can clearly see Larvesta and Volcanrona in Slither Wing implies its somewhere inbetween both in terms of evolution. Like Darwinian Evolution, which these games confirm exist in the Pokémon Universe now
Roaring Moon has Shelgon's shell on its head.
Darwinian evolution has been proven since alola. Regional forms are an example of divergent evolution
Yeah, the convergent evoulution species is also a pretty cool detail

@Fahad Alzie ok? Then don't? Not sure why you felt the need to tell me that.

Beeeerry?
@@XXXEmpoleon I don't know, ask Gamefreak. I didn't come up with that
The oddities of the Paradoxes starts making sense if you go with the theory that the Scarlet/Violet Book completely made them up, not caring about accuracy at all, and then the Professor in their obsession made their dreams of seeing the creatures from the Book come true with the so called "time" machine like 10 years ago, when all the sightings from the Occulture Magazines and such started happening.

It was just that Turo and Sada were so obsessed with the past/future Heath invented for them, they made it reality. This explains why there are so many occult magazines, but they differ in Scarlet and Violet which ones are real, it was just a matter of who got to the crater first to make real the occult magazines.
The thing i like about the pokedex entries is that the paradox of the version you are playing get lore entries on the opposite version
Man you gotta go back into violet and read the lighthouse bookshelf’s, it answers one of your major questions
Fun Fact, Aerodacral is said to also be like Salamence, regressing when it megas
Same with Mega Ampharos; Mega Evolution awakened its ancient Dragon genes.
Could possibly get a Paradox Ampharos in the future.
You mean aerodactyl?
like in jurassic park the scientists that ressurected aerodactyl had to make some modifications to it to keep its dna stable
@@Samrules888
And that's why going Mega causes it pain- modern day Aerodactyls lack the important genes to allow it's body to accept the changes.
You should read Foonguss’s pokedex entry if you want to know about Brute Bonnet and pokeballs

There are actually a couple of books in the main hall of the academy that give a bit more information on the paradox pokemon. The Occulture books.
There are some books you can find that don't go into insane detail, but gives some insight on how they sort of came to be.
The connection of the Paradox Pkmn with 590 BTS to Mega Evolution is so damn awesome. I loved how Ttar put the puzzle pieces together for himself :D
Tbh this is the only gen I actually feel the want to get both games. They have a decent amount of differences.
Why does Great Tusk have to be this epic looking Mammoth Beast, and then Iron Treads is this dumb metal marble with a moving tumor on its head
so that scarlet stays winning =)

Violet however, has all great ones. Iron hands is extremely good, followed closely by miraidon and iron valiant. Iron thorns and iron moth look great to, while iron bundle is extremely adorable. All 6 of these are great (we don't speak of iron treads and iron jugulis)
In the normal mon department violet wins to. Dragapult and clawitzer are some of my all time favorites, and I adore Swalot, salamence and ceruledge aswell. Others for which I not really care eclipse their counterparts as well. Passimian, eiscue, misdreavus and others I am forgetting atm.
To make it fair that Violet has the Dragonzord. None of the prehistoric designs look that cool.
It's a wheel that's why (still kinda ugly tho ngl)
I read a speculation that Iron Moth is part poison is because it might be a nuclear weapon of sorts. I'm sticking w/that.
I think it'd be funny if there are two cults in the game, one with Sada obsessed with the past and one with Turo obsessed with the future. And they both made their own books and then the other cult just turns up making fun of them and calling their book a paranormal cult magazine. Imagine we see the other prof in the DLC trying to revive the time machine and get the future pokemon in Scarlet and vice versa

something interesting about the mega evolution and regressing thing: some of mega aerodactyl's pokedex entries describe it as having the complete DNA from when it used to live millions of years ago. so mega evolution seems to bring out some of a pokemon's inactive genes from millions of years ago which is why roaring moon resembles mega salamence.
Honestly when it comes down to the Paradox mons strictly these are the only ones i love from both Scarlet & Violet
Ancient Paradox Mons - Slither Wing, Roaring Moon, Great Tusk, Flutter Mane & Koraidon
Future Paradox Mons - Iron Thorns, Iron Valiant & Miraidon
You're overthinking this, TTar. The "dubious magazine" is just the devs trying to give a Violet parallel to the "ancient book" in Scarlet pokedex. Anyways, loved the reaction as always. The like button was deservingly shanked.
Iron Valiant has the arm blades of Mega Gallade and the wider dress of Mega Gardevoir
Gonna subscribe this time!

i think iron valiant does have mega gardevoir elements, their dress is mega gardevoir's and not normal gardevoir's since its more ballgown-y and not a streamlined or flowy
Been a long while since I watched one of your vids. You grew up kid. Good job
Yeah for Iron Valiant the Mad scientist wanted to make the strongest psychic type but it turned out to be Fairy/Fighting
Yes finally, been waiting for this video. Thank you ttar
Not gonna lie, kind of disappointed that ancient Salamence wasn't a Dragon/Rock type that was grounded since normal Salamence was known to be a mutation of Shelgon due to its great desire to fly
Also, regarding the Scarlet and Violet books, how did Heath come up with the covers of Kuraidon and Muraidon if Sada/Turo brought in the only ones?
Isn't it also interesting that this is the first time that aliens are being mentioned since the space man in gen 7?
i have a theory about the violet paradoxes that they werent the result of any disasters, but were instead made to carry out specific things, iron bundle to deliver presents to kids faster than delibird would, iron valiant to fight big threats (most regions in pokemon always end up dealing with catastrophic threats, the whole weather thing in hoenn, the dialga and palkia thing in sinnoh, word would eventually spread around and after scientists in paldea managed to discover the technology to make the robots, they made several iron valiants to fight against any threats that could face paldea) the only irons i dont see any reasons for are iron treads and iron thorns,,,
another thing i wanna say is that the great crater may have been a result of the ultimate weapon eventually crashing down in that exact spot, considering kalos is apperantly really close to paldea, and considering the ultimate weapon managed to create a whole separate branch in the timeline and everything, it may have landed there and shifted things around in area zero, accidentally bringing a few paradox pokemon in, and perhaps awakening the dormant third legendary causing it to spread out its crystals??
these are the things i think of to help myself cope with most stuff that doesnt make sense i need help 🙏
also i guess ai turo who went into the future couldve just goofed and accidentally sent a few things back by accident but that doesnt sound as cool lmao
If you look at Tinkatink’s line she keeps her rattle throughout her evolutions.
11:16 early set-up for Legends Z-A to put Megas in people's heads again lmao
Scarlet and violet most overpowered game so far
A part of the appeal of the violet paradox forms is the lore implications.
1. For some reason or another, mankind would come to need machines that resembled pokemon from the current era.
2. Most of the future forms are weak to iron valiant’s type in some way. You might be asking, “well what about iron moth?”. Iron valiant also has access to psycho cut to act as coverage.
2. The inconsistency of their origins shows just how little is known about them.
In fact, the only Paradox Pokémon (including Ancients) that aren't weak to Iron Valiant's STAB are Iron Moth and the three "unevolved" Ancient Pokémon
With what Ttar is saying about sandy shocks, maybe the pokemon were sent back in time it to the future and then brought back to modern times after adapting for a while
Like the Magnemite found in Hisui distortions
Fun fact in mega Salamence’s Pokémon moon dex entry it says it’s been dubbed “the blood-soaked crescent” imagine if they named Roaring Moon that it would be so much cooler
35 min of Ttar talking about ingame lore and pokemon theories yes please that's candy to my ears
Alder or his relatives has some explaining to do, showing up in legends Arceus and his ace Volcarona got TWO paradox forms
Wait who was Alders relative in Legends Arceus?
@@lucifermorningstar8562 Visable in a portrait in mons of the diamond or pearl houses. More likealy a relative than a time traveling Alder but who knows
What if the Paradox Pokemon really are paradoxes, because we see in PLA Pokemon like Porygon, Mageneton, and Scizor ending up in the past because of the space time rifts. Perhaps those pokemon being the past and them being stuck there really messes up time to the point they start creating actual parodox pokemon.
Potential Spoilers:
Their is either a theory or rumor that basically says that the paradox pokemon are actually pokemon that came into existence through the imagination of the 3rd legendary as apposed to being from a different time if memory serves me correctly.
This could explain the discrepancies in both the designs and dex entries, but I wouldn't hold my breath on it.
That would mean the “Time Machine” wouldn’t really be a Time Machine right?
Sonic didn't invent the "mad scientist creates killer robot" trope
Nah it's just meant to be the future's Mewtwo, in the magazine it says that scientist tried to make "the strongest psychic-type pokemon". The future was probably fascinated by Mewtwo's origin.
“The offspring of a hydreigon that fell in love with a robot” *w h a t*
3:10 The Dubious Magazine is Occulture, the real question is: tF is a Dinosaur?
I prefer the past esthetic more. Feels more unique.
Funny seeing you wish Roaring Crescent had way more stats when he’s already busted
So me and my brother had two theories about the future Paradox Pokemon:
1) It is depicted in the anime that Pokemon turn into some energy that gets bundled back into the same Pokemon when taken out of the ball.
(Hence why we have Mega Salamance and Roaring Moon look similar)
So I think Roaring Moon was the original Salamance, but over time it grew stronger.
The magazine talked about in the dex entries isn't the scarlet or violet books
The funny thing about shiny Tinkaton is that only the hammer changes. It changes to the same colour that shiny corviknight is. So they make their hammers from corvinkights
thats not true. shiny tinkatons hammer is brown, shiny corviknight is silver.
A swing and a miss
Its pretty messed up
The magazine referenced in the dex entries is Occulture, you find it on the bookshelves in the academy entrance
Maybe the future pokemon has something to do with the Ultra Recon Squad and would be a great way to introduce them back in the story
