i find it darkly poetic that grief was the only one to survive both final encounters in black one and two, because grief is a thing you can only have if you survive.
That cynthia battle was possibly the luckiest I've ever seen anyone get in pokemon. Paralyzed chandelure DODGING and then hitting while paralyzed... that's insane.
If I had a nickel for every time grief was the sole survivor of a final battle I would have 2 Nickles which isn't a lot but its weird that it happend twice
Even luckier when you consider that since Grief was on such low health, the AI opts for a completely random attacking move (it wouldn’t have gone for Thunder Wave since Grief was paralysed, but idk if a Pokemon could go for that in another scenario). So the odds of Togekiss going for Air Slash (the only of Togekiss’ three attacks that can miss) is 1/3, the odds of Air Slash missing being 1/20 and then Grief not getting paralysed being 3/4. So the odds of Grief surviving is 1/80, or 1.25% Edit: Grief is a Ghost type, so the Togekiss wouldn’t have ever gone for ExtremeSpeed or Aura Sphere, so the maths isn’t as accurate as initially depicted, but I’ll keep it there because

I've just now realized how much I love Dan's genuine love for the things he do, that despite putting on an unhinged show, his love and passion just seeps throughout his work! Be it Pokèmon or Legend of Zelda, he's kept his enthusiasm about such things, and it truly shows! No wonder I love this irish lad! Not to mention its incredibly noble how he goes through the motions just to show us the very same things that made his childhood, be it a soul-rending grind, or a tough as nails battle, nothing stops this man, as long as he gets to share his affection for the little things that made him who he is, not to mentiom how its so damn adorable how he names his pokèmon! Giving them suitable names like Veronica the Volkerona, unlike the usual *Jared Leto* you'd see on a stream.
The Cynthia Fight at the end is BRUTAL. Not only is it BRUTAL, its nerfed from what it should be. Garchomp would normally have a Berry, generally a Sitrus or Yache (This one halves the damage of Ice Type moves), and Garchomp should have had Swords Dance instead of Fire Blast. If this Garchomp had been perfectly faithful to her original team, you would have been swept by it. The Sitrus would have stopped your kill on it, and it would have set up a swords dance and sweeped you.
Immediately, when Dan said “Klink is the only one we are hoping it’s not”, the first thing I thought was that he got a Klink. Then, in just under two minutes later, my vision came into fruition…
Marlon probably could be the case where the gym leaders match their strength to the trainer badge count so he isn't the actual strongest, Cheren even mentions not using his usual team, but it's still awkwardly placed in the story lmao.
I love the character development of initially being upset about using Oshawott in Black 1 but over time realising that he is the best in Black 2 and being happy to use it
Things i learned from this video: - Character development is possible (Dan's growth to liking Oshawott) - Dog lives - Correct is most likely a correct play - Magmar is faster than Excadrill - Grief is MVP (Correct 2nd)
Can't wait for Jan to react. That's when the REAL content starts. On the real though thank you for walking me back down the roads I traveled in my childhood. The Unova games were my first main series Pokémon titles. Cheers, Dan.
@@MultiZernez I think he means the main bulk of that run compared to Success's run. Failures run was very smooth right until the final bosses where he still clutched up. Success kept losing good team members in crucial battles and kept having to replace them. Failure only had to do that like once or twice until the end.

The showcasing of postgame content and then the new songs, finished with Cynthia was so awesome to see, especially with how that fight ended. Thank you for doing this RT
hearing RT praise oshawott, my very first starter and one of my favorites, after hearing him hate on my special guy in the other nuzlocke and arceus, is a dopamine hit i wasn't expecting also 59:53 me when I first played amogus with my friend, got imposter, and threw the game by not killing anyone
The latter part of this video elevates it so much. It showcases an oft overlooked part of an amazing Pokémon game, and allows the viewer to relate to Dan’s experience and memories of the game. It feels very close, like a friend is showing you his favorite parts of the postgame. Love it!
As a massive fan of Oshawott and considers it my favourite starter Pokemon, Dan growing over time to love Oshawott after hating it for some time makes me so happy!
I'm really happy to see Dan play his favourite games, can't believe it's been this long since the content shift. Im excited to watch this monster in one sitting, big thanks to your editor for all the hard work!
I love how much time was spent exploring post game content. Most nuzlockes hard stop at the Champion, but i love the showcase for those who never experienced these games.
So glad to see this nuzlock on the channel. This is the only pokemon game I ever completed the national Dex in and, just like you, my favorite game in the franchise.
I reckon it could work well for the rising tensions from gym 3 onwards, with the final villain fight after gym 8 having them realise that it isn't actually worthwhile joining them because the evil team can't actually help your rival grow strong enough, so they just leave after stealing the obligatory Master Ball and disappear till the champion takes you to the hall of fame. You're just about to get your data recorded when you hear them shouting wait, and challenging you to one last battle, with the second legendary and a team that might be just a touch competitive, maybe just a little.
It is such a shame that I played through these games as an incompetent 8 year old way back in 2012. The amount of content and legendaries I’m realizing I missed makes me want to do it all over again. I even kinda want to play Pokémon White just for the memory link content. Yet it was such a blessing too, I’ve never had more fun with a Pokémon game than I did with White 2. In fact I’d say it was because of my inexperience that I got so much enjoyment out these games. It probably took me more than 100 hours to beat the elite 4 with my most basic of teams. It’s also the only game I naturally levelled a Pokémon up to 100 without candies. My level 100 Emboar named “Omegaflame” sits in the PC box enjoying his much earned retirement after carrying me through all of the game.
We had such similar experiences ! I used my emboar all the way, I got the 3 legendary Pokemon on the main routes as part of the story and one more but was unaware of just how much post game there is to this. Wish I could understand pokemon now to enjoy it again
To this day, one of my greatest regrets is sleeping on Gen 5. But now I've realized some of my most favorite Pokemon are from Unova, Zorua is my most favorite of all. Snivy and Oshawott are two of my most favorite starters. Snivy is real strange for me because in real life I have a bad fear of snakes. Props to Unova.
Somehow, reading this comment is what made it finally click for me that Serperior is a "garden" snake. I never realized it before, but that's absolutely what the pun is and why it's just grass and not grass/poison (since garden snakes aren't venomous).
Nothing in this run was as stressful as seeing the level difference between RT's team for most of the game. Ironically, if he had played with level limits on he would've actually been safer, since it would have forced him to grind up his whole team rather than relying on a few strong ones.
From the moment I saw Messiah, my absolute favorite pokemon line, I knew that it would die to a bull*youtube* move or crit at some point. I'm just glad that he even made it in the team. Better to join the team and die, than to have been left in the box an forgotten T^T 7
I love how these nuzlock challenges are now just a back and forth between you and Pokemon Challenges lmao. Honestly I would love to see him raid your stream in the middle of one of these challenges to give live commentary on every mistake
Till this day, the sad piano theme of Emotion has been forever memorised by me as the passing of the greatest man we've ever known. After all these years, we still miss you, Ross Bob...
I just adore this game with all my heart and not just because it was the one I grew up playing with after the first games, but also because it introduced the idea of Pokémon fusion letting it become its own fan game which is amazing
I've done a Black nuzlocke before and wiped to Clay, but was inspired to try again after finding your Black nuzlocke. I was hyped when I beat Clay with little issue this time, and when I got the 2% Tynamo as my Twist Mountain encounter I knew the run was blessed.

He sticks to a weird but fun gimmick with certain games like Stardew, , Dave, Scarlet and Zelda and seeing him play feels so joyful
This came out QUICK. Huge props to the editors this must have been an endeavor.
Classic set-up / payoff
Marlon probably could be the case where the gym leaders match their strength to the trainer badge count so he isn't the actual strongest, Cheren even mentions not using his usual team, but it's still awkwardly placed in the story lmao.
I love the character development of initially being upset about using Oshawott in Black 1 but over time realising that he is the best in Black 2 and being happy to use it
I’m
The fact that Grief was the sole survivor in two final battles is honestly insane
Things i learned from this video:
- Character development is possible (Dan's growth to liking Oshawott)
- Dog lives
- Correct is most likely a correct play
- Magmar is faster than Excadrill
- Grief is MVP (Correct 2nd)
- Crits matter.
-don't do a nuzlocke of bw2 postgame
I love that RT not only plays an entire nuzlock but after that shows of every event and detail in the game that is available.
Can't wait for Jan to react. That's when the REAL content starts.
On the real though thank you for walking me back down the roads I traveled in my childhood. The Unova games were my first main series Pokémon titles.
Cheers, Dan.
Not only a Nuzloke, but a bold new entry in the Pokemon Black and White 2 *IRL Marriage %* category.
Only in RT streams do people become parents, marry eachother, propose to eachother, etc.
And that's part of the reason we love them
What I love about RtGame is that he’ll risk his entire team for the dumbest of reasons and it’s great.
pretty ironic how the nuzlocke with the dude named failure was smoother than the one with success
Yeah it’s smooth because he lost all his pokemon at the end with the only pokemon that survived named grief
@@MultiZernez I think he means the main bulk of that run compared to Success's run. Failures run was very smooth right until the final bosses where he still clutched up. Success kept losing good team members in crucial battles and kept having to replace them. Failure only had to do that like once or twice until the end.
I think the interpretation here is “She was successful because she could accept her losses”
to be fair Dan threw Shitface in so it would die against N. He basically made the last battle in White a 12 vs 5.
My interpretation of the swords of justice appearing to you so readily is that they recognize the threat Team Plasma represents and seek you out to join the fight against Kyurem.
I gotta say I am loving these 2+ hour videos
I remember when my old year 4 class was cleaning out our books we got to take some home, so my teacher gave me a black and white 2 official guidebook that had a bunch of information. Like a page on all the routes with information on the Pokemon, catch rates, items and NPCs. I remember looking at this constantly, and you playing this reminded me of this and I looked for this and found it! Still quite helpful!
Saying this while not having finished, at this point Jan is just gonna show to Daniel's door with a shotgun if he makes one more mistake
He's gonna do that over the Gothita joke alone.
Pokémon challenges gonna bring Pokémon Gun version back to life just for this. But lmao for real, Dan did great and this game is awesome.
That Pelipper timer ball stall was probably one of the coolest moments in this nuzlocke

Gen 5 used Charm. Your attack has been lowered harshly. It then used Attract. You are now immobolized with love.
this is the fuckin 3d ever
1:47:41 "The way failure and [Name] have" is actually an incredibly hard and palpable line if it's in the context of having a grudge against someone or wanting revenge.
There is nothing mid about Hugh he is in my opinion the most motivated and well-written rival in the series. My man is on a valiant quest to save his sister’s Purrloin
It's all fun and games until you steal a child's pokemon.
Team grunt: *steals a funny little cat*
Hugh: "So you have chosen death."
The only thing Team Plasma will be catching is Hugh's hands.
fun fact: glaciate, the move ghetsis told kyurem to use, *cannot freeze*
I dont think Hugh is mid tbh. Literally one of the only rivals that has motivation outside of: Im a dickhead or Im your best friend ever!
This is Gladion erasure smh smh (also Blue is in the latter category he’s just a lil stinker but is Red’s total bestie)
Gladion,blue,silver,and Hugh
Though they may put up aggressive fronts at first half want to see you succeed and the others want to grow as people
@@strangevol5264 Exactly. People really exaggerate how much of a jerk Blue was. He was snarky, yes. And at the beginning of the game he was being a bit of a jerk, but over the course of the game he starts to be a lot more of a friendlier rival after recognizing your abilities as a trainer, while still thinking he was the stronger trainer.
Silver was just an edgy jerk who never warmed up to you, and even at his friendliest he's still not that nice to talk to
Silver blows him out of the water IMO
@@NinjaPickle no? Silver had actual backstory and character growth that continues in media outside of heart gold and soul silver. His growth is amazing if you pay attention
1:32:02 the fact that the sprites on the UI blink while the pokemon is evolving, great attention to detail from cloe!
Naming Rosa Success and declaring BW2 as his favorite are why I love this lad. Truly based.
First it was daisy, now I’m expecting magmar for the next charity “if you guys donate enough money, I will force myself to love them” stream lol. Also if Chloé adds dark souls boss music to every magmar encounter I’ll lose my shit. And as always, massive props and thank you to Chloé for once again editing a monstrously large amount of footage in a timely manner. And Dan as well, for dying to ducks.
Grief dodging that air slash and killing Cynthia’s Togekiss was such a hype moment. I feel as if this extended my love for Chandelure even more. Grief is truly the goat
Through Paralysis too. Simply amazing
Pelipper's valiant struggle to catch Virizion (1:45:00) was so tense 😬 Thank you for your service!
Thank you to the editor for increasing the volume when the game played great songs from its soundtrack. It’s really nice to hear some of Pokémon’s best songs in the entire franchise
A solid drinking game would be "Take a shot everytime a crit puts RT's Pokemon from full to red health". So many mini-heart attacks
glad to see both jerma and rt had a viewer ask them to ask their partner to marry them
a weird thing to see two youtubers i watch have in common, but i love it
I feel like Grief needs to be taken through a few more generations of Nuzlocke just for surviving that last one. What a trooper!
Idk man, I feel like Grief deserves a nice retirement after such a stressful existence 😅
As another commenter said, Grief can retire in peace and change their name to Acceptance.
Grief is in S/V now! :D
Send Grief against Wally, Mustard, Nemona, Kieran, Cyrano, make him know true fear
This is the hypest dang start to any Summer Vacation I’ve ever had. Nearly FOUR HOURS of the modern Odyssey.
Between this and Chuggaa’s LP, B2/W2 are really snagging that spotlight back- it’s wonderful! New Gen 5 plushies too, that Woobat is adorable. Seriously it’s so fluffy.
The showcasing of postgame content and then the new songs, finished with Cynthia was so awesome to see, especially with how that fight ended. Thank you for doing this RT
hearing RT praise oshawott, my very first starter and one of my favorites, after hearing him hate on my special guy in the other nuzlocke and arceus, is a dopamine hit i wasn't expecting
also 59:53 me when I first played amogus with my friend, got imposter, and threw the game by not killing anyone
The latter part of this video elevates it so much. It showcases an oft overlooked part of an amazing Pokémon game, and allows the viewer to relate to Dan’s experience and memories of the game. It feels very close, like a friend is showing you his favorite parts of the postgame. Love it!
this video is so short that it almost makes me forget about the limited 3d graphics in this game, they're so charming
Saltydkdan reference
Wrong Dan lol
As a massive fan of Oshawott and considers it my favourite starter Pokemon, Dan growing over time to love Oshawott after hating it for some time makes me so happy!
I like how the first instance of Patrat's old nickname wasn't censored and then three seconds later we get hit with that TH-cam face.
I'm really happy to see Dan play his favourite games, can't believe it's been this long since the content shift. Im excited to watch this monster in one sitting, big thanks to your editor for all the hard work!
rt game's pokemon skills are amazing, never ceases to disapoint.
The 45 minutes of audino grinding was my favorite part of the live. A sweet solace from the extREME ANXIETY of everything after that point
I want a Pokémon game where the rival ends up joining the evil team out of frustration from losing to you
I reckon it could work well for the rising tensions from gym 3 onwards, with the final villain fight after gym 8 having them realise that it isn't actually worthwhile joining them because the evil team can't actually help your rival grow strong enough, so they just leave after stealing the obligatory Master Ball and disappear till the champion takes you to the hall of fame.
You're just about to get your data recorded when you hear them shouting wait, and challenging you to one last battle, with the second legendary and a team that might be just a touch competitive, maybe just a little.
But you are always beating the evil team too
It is such a shame that I played through these games as an incompetent 8 year old way back in 2012.
Peliper being named "Reliable" is so fitting lol
Especially in gen 5.
This is literally the best pokemon game no one can convince me otherwise no matter how many facts/opinions etc you provide.
Nothing in this run was as stressful as seeing the level difference between RT's team for most of the game. Ironically, if he had played with level limits on he would've actually been safer, since it would have forced him to grind up his whole team rather than relying on a few strong ones.
I loved the part where he said "It's Oshawotting time!", then Oshawotted all over the place
Thanks Dan for playing the best Pokémon game, dealing with tough shit doesn’t help but this definitely brighten my mood
I love how i can just hear pkChallenges saying that he should just use Rare Candys in the first minutes
Jan needs to understand that this nuzlocke is run on physical hardware then

Grief being the last survivor to beat synthia was the hypest moment
i’m still mot over the fact that the last pokemon standing after everyone else died was called “grief”
Grief was the only survivor *twice*
@@somerandomgamer8504 That shit's fuckin' poetic

After all these years, we still miss you,
Ross Bob...
I just adore this game with all my heart and not just because it was the one I grew up playing with after the first games, but also because it introduced the idea of Pokémon fusion letting it become its own fan game which is amazing
These multi-hour playthroughs have become some of my favorite videos on TH-cam. Can't wait for more
I've done a Black nuzlocke before and wiped to Clay, but was inspired to try again after finding your Black nuzlocke. I was hyped when I beat Clay with little issue this time, and when I got the 2% Tynamo as my Twist Mountain encounter I knew the run was blessed.
You'd think Grief wasn't informed the nuzlocke part of the run was over with how hard he was fighting for his life
RT doing a Nuzlocke of this game while Chuggaaconroy is doing his LP of this is incredible
I had the same thought
ending the game with grief dodging an air slash and killing togekiss is iconic
