RVers and generators that run off propane go hand in hand. An RV always has propane on hand so why carry around a can of gas if you don't need to? Unfortunately, Honda does not offer a dual fuel inverter generator. So for us Honda lovers, the only option is to take matters in to our own hands and install a propane conversion kit.
The Tri-fuel Conversion Kit through Hutch Mountain is by far the best propane conversion kit available for the EU2200i and EU2000i models. It is OEM quality, easy to install, and allows simple switching between gasoline and propane.

Its a system known in the trade as Suck and Burn. Suitable for engines running at fixed revs and loads. Though ideally you need to change the spark plug for an LPG model. Trouble is theses are eye watering costs. For my V8 LPG Land Rover Discovery, the standard NGK plug are £7.94 each . The LPG are £18 each! I and I have 8 of them! Fortunatley the standard plug does run it OK,. When fittting the gaskest, use a GAS approved sealeant, and on all threaded connections. This ensures no leaks and cleanear burn.

On a separate note, it just blows me away WHY small engines, be it generators of lawn mowers, have to be so damned noisy. I can walk out my driveway when 5 cars are sitting there running, awaiting a stop light change, and I don't hear anything. Each of those engines is capable of producing way beyond 100 horsepower yet they run very silently, other than those whose exhaust systems have been specifically modified by insecure individuals to make as much noise as possible in a "hey mommy, look at me" frame of mind.

Amazingly simple install! Very well thought out upgrade! Now if you put a low-pressure external fitting on your RV you can lose that jerry can, that can be a pain to find a place to store. Also depending on your RV, you may be able to upsize your tanks to accommodate the greater fuel usage.
We used to run taxis on propane they got worse fuel mileage but when I started propane was 19cents/litre. Multiply by 3.78 to get a us gallon and you have dirt cheap fuel. Then at Xmas time one year, the price went up to and over the price of gasoline and the whole propane infrastructure disappeared. Because propane is already atomized (it's in a gaseous state already) propane car starts very quickly.
It was so clean-burning that looking at the condition of the oil in the taxi after a couple of thousand miles, you would swear you just changed it. We don't generally think of gasoline-burning engines as smelly because today's cars with fuel injection and smog devices are so much cleaner at the exhaust pipe.
When diesel was forced to clean up there exhaust the standard they were tested to was called Tier 2 bin 5. I have no idea what it means except that cars had been achieving that kind of efficiency for years before that. Once I was in the basement of my house and had a window open while the lawn outside was being mowed. I had to close the window because it stunk so bad. Carbureted engines just are not that efficient.

Two questions tho: How did it change, if at all, the behavior on eco mode, and how has the noise changed? In the video it seemed louder than mine on gasoline.

I like that this is not conversion from gasoline to propane but to a multi-fuel setup. Propane is cleaner burning and easier to use, but a little more expensive and less energy dense. If you're in the boonies though and the propane runs out or isn't not an option, you can make electricity using gasoline.

Propane burns cooler - less BTUs - so, the generator will not produce 100% of its rated output for gasoline on propane but appx. 80% to 85% of the rated output. Keep this in mind when determining what size generator you think you need.
