For those of you wondering if I met my deadline for getting Goldie back on the road, the answer to that question has been filmed and there is a big story to tell. I want to do the story justice, so I'll have to break it into a few videos. I'll try to get them out as fast as I can but it's going to take a while. Thanks for watching!

I have 4 sons from age 8 - 14. Just upgraded from c5z to c6z, just like Josh. So many similarities, highs, lows and frustrations. However, it's all worth it when my boys come to the garage and help or watch - even if it's only for a few minutes. The payoff comes on weekends when without fail, one of them will ask me to drive them to a game or practice or to their friend's house in the corvette. Bonus is that my wife says it's too loud and too smelly and too bumpy - which means I must be doing something right. Also, the amazon/fedex/ups man now shows up with random car parts for me every day vs the typical women's shoes and makeup deliveries. Keep up the great work.

I built the motor in 2016, and just started it last year. The car hasn’t been on a public street since 2012. The exhaust valve isn’t gonna just drop immediately 😂. But I agree you must fix the initial problem from the factory especially when you’re asking more power from the motor than stock. Means you’re gonna get the problem faster than last time but not that much faster I mean it’s not like you’re going for 700. Bet it’s still alive and I’m a new subscriber and this is my first video. Well done brother nice car much respect for grinding it out yourself like a man and not just sending it to a shop to have them do it from the go like everybody else or have a shop this is your garage. Respect I’ll be doing it myself here soon. Although the heads were aftermarket which means the valve probably won’t drop like last time especially because they’re usually paired with the cam so you are probably fine.

Ugggh! That ending hit home as a dad. 🥺😫
You did a great job with this build, and I’m sure the video editing for a year’s worth of work was a small nightmare. No corners cut on your parts selection = 👏 🍻
I wish I had known about the LS Engine book when I was competing back in the day (2009-2017). I had torque specs and basic assembly techniques, and had to figure the rest out for myself. 🥵 🤦‍♂️
High attention to detail and the parts selection netted us 640bhp and 580lb/ft from a 6.6L 402ci LS2 that runs on 93 octane every day of the year. Car was heavily lightened, and the chassis calibrated to be competitive at HPDEs.
The folks who helped with the build and the trial periods are now lifelong friends whom I deeply respect. ❤️
    Happy hot rodding, Josh.

Congratulations on bud on your first. It was bound to happen sooner or later, just sad that yours had to happen due to a dropped valve. I've done many 5.3, 5.7, 6.0, and even a 6.2 here and there but never a 7.0 LS7 engine, you have me up on that one. Every engine is a learning experience, and you gain more knowledge the more you build on them as they are not all is the same, nor built the same.

Josh, typically I enjoy the soundtrack you have that accompanies your videos because you always choose a fitting few tracks that match the energy. This video didn’t have any music and had I not stayed till the very last seconds I wouldn’t have understood why. Man, your content is about so much more than just the cars and I appreciate that. Happy 4/27 to you and Charlotte and I am looking forward to hearing Goldie tick over with the new heart.

Very few people on this platform have the personality and “taste” you do, which makes me all the more happy to have come across your channel about a year ago, especially being a young corvette owner myself. Cant wait to see the crazy and exiting things the future holds for you man. Me & seemingly everyone else in this wholesome comment section will be supporting & cheering you on every step of the way no matter the outcome. God bless 🫱🏻‍🫲🏼

If you go back two years, my videos were objectively pretty bad. About a year ago I was starting to get my recipe dialed in and the channel was showing signs of taking off... and then a bunch of stuff happened including the short block build getting delayed.
So I decided to put TH-cam on the backburner for a while. Which I now regret because just like getting Goldie back on track and hunting GT3's, I won't be satisfied that I've gotten good at the TH-cam side until I've gotten some solid metrics under my belt.
A lot of times results are just a matter of putting the work in. And work takes time, which can be hard to come by.
Wholesome comments for the win! Thanks!!

You're lucky it's an LS. Has to be one of the most fool proof/easiest places to start with fiddling. I mean, you didn't have to build the short motor, but camshaft install/timing is not easy, so you're doing great. Hydraulic roller another nice, easy way to get into engines.
Speaking of which, you should have checked the pushrod length (maybe you did, and I missed it), as the heads/block have been machined, and you don't know by how much. You could have also opted for an adjustable timing chain to get the most out of that camshaft.
LOL watch you open the packet of bolts for the crank pulley and one go flying, away from you, on the floor somewhere, this sums up working on cars so well. Nothing is easy, not even opening a packet of bolts hahaha.
I just found this channel, I'll follow along. Good luck!
    Cute with your daughter.

Hey Josh, great 4/27 posting. I’ve been watching your entire z06 adventure. The original trigger was researching an issue with what likely is a blown head gasket but grew up into a concern with the Z06 valve guides. I’m no professional mechanic but your adventure, postings, magnificent storytelling and editing convinced me to not only do the work but also wiggle test and if necessary, call Katech for a DIY head replacement project. Thank you sooooooo much for letting us all learn from your journey and reminding us all about the most important things in life.

You definitely deserve more subscribers and viewership as the quality is really good. I can tell some good time definitely has to be taken to do a lot of camera work, different shots/angles during the assembly process and also the voice narration is very good. I personally really enjoy how its a little bit of a mix between ASMR as sometimes you let the narration lift off or pause for a second to let the viewer hear the raw audio at times.
